Of unknown parentage, as he was abandoned as a child, calling himself Brahmachari (Shammi Kapoor) lives in a heavily mortgaged house, with twelve other young orphans, and a servant/former thief (Mohan Choti). He struggles everyday to make ends meet. He cons the neighbouring landlord (Asit Sen)into forcibly giving him money so that they do not make any noise when he is showing the house to prospective tenants. One day he rescues Sheetal Choudhary (Rajshree) from killing herself. She was killing herself as her childhood betrothed, Ravi Khanna (Pran), is refusing to marry now that she is poor and the Khannas are wealthy. Brahmachari commits himself to helping groom and educate Sheetal so that she can meet with the high standards of Ravi and thus win his heart. In turn she must pay him enough money to clear the mortgage loan from his house. In this process he falls in love with her, but is committed to the children more than ever before, and Sheetal is determined to win back Ravi at any cost.

The story, the team and everything about this movie kept nothing but comedy in mind and have delivered what they promised -- a rip roaring comedy. Kamal essays the role of a professional stuntman, who religiously believes in remaining bachelor and Simran palys a self sufficient, feministic, men-hating doctor. They are invariably forced to bump into each other by their mutual friends Abbas and Sneha. Both help Abbas and Sneha to elope and get married. But finally Abbas misses his opportunity to go to Australia. So he finds his wife Sneha leaving him, in charge of the household chores. A frustrated Abbas goes to his friend Kamal for help to get back his upper hand over his wife. While Simran counsels Sneha not to submit to the authority of her husband. As both Sneha and Abbas are being brainwashed by their respective friends, it leads to a string of comic incidents.In one such event, Kamal who is a stunt master meets with an accident during a shooting scene. Simran being a doctor operates on Kamal, but commits the blunder of sewing her watch inside Kamal during the operation. With her profession and reputation at stake, she finds it difficult to pin Kamal down to the operation table and re-operate him. So she decides to play as the love-struck damsel and finally fetches the watch back out of Kamal. But Kamal who by now is smitten by Simran, is completely shattered when he learns about the truth. So he finally agrees to marry the girl his parents have arranged even as Simran is reflecting on her feelings for Kamal. Kamal excels in his role --as always. But Simran proves with her performance that she has more to offer than just being a glamorous heroine and deserves a definite applause. With this kind of a setting there is enough room for Mouli the director and script writer Crazy Mohan to set the ball rolling so fast that you have to be quick to assimilate all humor between the lines too.

Brahmachari is an award-winning 1968 Indian film. Written by Sachin Bhowmick, it is a G. P. and Ramesh Sippy production directed by Bhappi Sonie. The film stars Shammi Kapoor, Rajshree, Pran, Mumtaz, Jagdeep, Sachin and Asit Sen. The music was by Shankar Jaikishan. The film became a box office hit and won several awards, including Filmfare Best Movie Award.
It was later remade in Telugu as Devudu Mamayya (1981)
Brahmachari (Shammi Kapoor), an orphan with no identity, takes care of many children who are orphans in his home. Being poor, it is hard for him to take care of their every need.
One day he saves a young woman Sheetal (Rajshree) from committing suicide. She's in love with Ravi Khanna (Pran) who likes to have many affairs. Brahmachari promises to get them together but asks money from her in return. Day and night he works on her appearance to make Ravi like her, but Brahmachari falls in love with her. When Ravi proposes to Sheetal, she realises she loves Brahmachari. He denies his love for her saying he wants to be big in life and marry a rich girl. When she tries to commit suicide again, he accepts her.

Shammi Kapoor (born Shamsher Raj Kapoor; 21 October 1930 -- 14 August 2011) was an Indian film actor and director. He was a prominent lead actor in Hindi cinema from the late 1950s until the early 1970s. In 2009, He became the recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest award for films in India. He received the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1968 for his performance in Brahmachari and Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for Vidhaata in 1982.
Shammi Kapoor is hailed as one of the most entertaining lead actors that Hindi cinema has ever produced. He was one of the leading stars of Hindi cinema during the late 1950s, the 1960s and early '70s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1953 with the film Jeevan Jyoti, and went on to deliver hits like Tumsa Nahin Dekha, Dil Deke Dekho, Junglee, Dil Tera Diwana, Professor, China Town, Rajkumar, Kashmir Ki Kali, Janwar, Teesri Manzil, An Evening in Paris, Bramhachari, Andaz and Vidhaata.
Kapoor started out with serious roles but with Filmistan's Nasir Hussain directed Tumsa Nahin Dekha (1957) opposite Ameeta and Dil Deke Dekho (1959) with Asha Parekh, he attained the image of a light-hearted, and stylish playboy.

Mohammed Rafi (24 December 1924 – 31 July 1980) was an Indian playback singer and one of the most popular singers of the Hindi film industry. Rafi was notable for his versatility, his songs ranged from classical numbers to patriotic songs, sad lamentations to highly romantic numbers, qawwalis to ghazals and bhajans. He was known for his ability to mould his voice to the persona of the actor lip-synching the song on screen in the movie. Between 1950 and 1970, Rafi was the most sought after singer in the Hindi film industry. He received six Filmfare Awards and one National Film Award. In 1967, he was honoured with the Padma Shri award by the Government of India.
Rafi is primarily noted for his songs in Hindi, over which he had a strong command. He sang in other Indian languages including Assamese, Konkani, Bhojpuri, Odia, Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi, Sindhi, Kannada, Gujarati, Telugu, Magahi, Maithili and Urdu. Apart from Indian languages, he also sang songs in English, Farsi, Arabic, Creole, and Dutch.

Hasrat Jaipuri
Hasrat Jaipuri (April 15, 1922 – September 17, 1999) was an Indian poet, who wrote in the Hindi and Urdu languages. He was also a renowned for his work as a film lyricist in Hindi films, where he won the Filmfare Awards for Best Lyricist twice.
Initial days
Jaipuri was born Iqbal Husain in Jaipur, where he studied English till medium level, and then acquired his taalim in Urdu and Persian from his paternal grandfather, Fida Husain. He began writing verse, when he was around twenty years old. Around same time, he fell in love with a Hindu girl named Radha.
Career in Bollywood
In 1940, Jaipuri came to Bombay (now Mumbai), and started working as a bus conductor, earning a monthly salary of eleven rupees. He used to participate in mushairas. At a mushaira, Prithviraj Kapoor noticed Jaipuri and recommended him to his son, Raj Kapoor. Raj Kapoor was planning a musical love story, Barsaat (1949) with Shankar-Jaikishan. Jaipuri wrote his first recorded song, Jiya Beqaraar Hai for the film. His second song (and first duet) was Chhor Gaye Baalam.

Bhappi Sonie
Bhappi Sonie (July 31, 1928 - September 5, 2001) was an Indian film director and producer, in Hindi cinema. He is best known for Shammi Kapoor hit films, Janwar (1965) and Brahmachari (1968), and also won Filmfare Award for Best Film.
He started his career, assisting Raj Khosla in Milap (1955), C.I.D. (1956) and Solva Saal (1958), before making his directorial debut with Ek Phool Char Kaante starring Sunil Dutt and Waheeda Rehman.
He died on September 5, 2001, while ungoing a heart bypass surgery at Nanavati Hospital, in Mumbai, at the age of 73.

Brahmachari is an award-winning 1968 Indian film. Written by Sachin Bhowmick, it is a G. P. and Ramesh Sippy production directed by Bhappi Sonie. The film stars Shammi Kapoor, Rajshree, Pran, Mumtaz, Jagdeep, Sachin and Asit Sen. The music was by Shankar Jaikishan. The film became a box office hit and won several awards, including Filmfare Best Movie Award. It was later remade in Telugu as Devudu Mamayya (1981) Brahmachari (Shammi Kapoor), an orphan with no identity, takes care of many children who are orphans in his home. Being poor, it is hard for him to take care of their every need. One day he saves a young woman Sheetal (Rajshree) from committing suicide. She's in love with Ravi Khanna (Pran) who likes to have many affairs. Brahmachari promises to get them together but asks money from her in return. Day and night he works on her appearance to make Ravi like her, but Brahmachari falls in love with her. When Ravi proposes to Sheetal, she realises she loves Brahmachari. He denies his love for her saying he wants to be big in life and marry a rich girl. When she tries to commit suicide again, he accepts her. The story, the team and everything about this movie kept nothing but comedy in mind and have delivered what they promised -- a rip roaring comedy. Kamal essays the role of a professional stuntman, who religiously believes in remaining bachelor and Simran palys a self sufficient, feministic, men-hating doctor. They are invariably forced to bump into each other by their mutual friends Abbas and Sneha. Both help Abbas and Sneha to elope and get married. But finally Abbas misses his opportunity to go to Australia. So he finds his wife Sneha leaving him, in charge of the household chores. A frustrated Abbas goes to his friend Kamal for help to get back his upper hand over his wife. While Simran counsels Sneha not to submit to the authority of her husband. As both Sneha and Abbas are being brainwashed by their respective friends, it leads to a string of comic incidents.In one such event, Kamal who is a stunt master meets with an accident during a shooting scene. Simran being a doctor operates on Kamal, but commits the blunder of sewing her watch inside Kamal during the operation. With her profession and reputation at stake, she finds it difficult to pin Kamal down to the operation table and re-operate him. So she decides to play as the love-struck damsel and finally fetches the watch back out of Kamal. But Kamal who by now is smitten by Simran, is completely shattered when he learns about the truth. The story, the team and everything about this movie kept nothing but comedy in mind and have delivered what they promised -- a rip roaring comedy. Kamal essays the role of a professional stuntman, who religiously believes in remaining bachelor and Simran palys a self sufficient, feministic, men-hating doctor. They are invariably forced to bump into each other by their mutual friends Abbas and Sneha. Both help Abbas and Sneha to elope and get married. But finally Abbas misses his opportunity to go to Australia. So he finds his wife Sneha leaving him, in charge of the household chores. A frustrated Abbas goes to his friend Kamal for help to get back his upper hand over his wife. While Simran counsels Sneha not to submit to the authority of her husband. As both Sneha and Abbas are being brainwashed by their respective friends, it leads to a string of comic incidents.In one such event, Kamal who is a stunt master meets with an accident during a shooting scene. Simran being a doctor operates on Kamal, but commits the blunder of sewing her watch inside Kamal during the operation. With her profession and reputation at stake, she finds it difficult to pin Kamal down to the operation table and re-operate him. So she decides to play as the love-struck damsel and finally fetches the watch back out of Kamal. But Kamal who by now is smitten by Simran, is completely shattered when he learns about the truth. Brahmachari (Shammi Kapoor), an orphan with no identity, takes care of many children who are orphans in his home. Being poor, it is hard for him to take care of their every need.
One day he saves a young woman Sheetal (Rajshree) from committing suicide. She's in love with Ravi Khanna (Pran) who likes to have many affairs. Brahmachari promises to get them together but asks money from her in return. Day and night he works on her appearance to make Ravi like her, but Brahmachari falls in love with her. When Ravi proposes to Sheetal, she realises she loves Brahmachari. He denies his love for her saying he wants to be big in life and marry a rich girl. When she tries to commit suicide again, he accepts her.

Six people were executed by Saudi Arabian authorities for offenses ranging from murder to drug offenses, as the kingdom put to death the highest number of people in a single day since the year began, The Independent reported. With the six deaths, the number of executions claimed by the government thus far in 2017 has risen to 44, the report said....
