Everly can refer to:
Salma Valgarma Hayek Jiménez de Pinault (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈsalma ˈxaʝek]; born September 2, 1966) is a Mexican and American film actress, director and producer. She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her role as Frida Kahlo in the film Frida.
Hayek was born in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico, the daughter of Diana Jiménez Medina, an opera singer and talent scout, and Sami Hayek Dominguez, an oil company executive who once ran for mayor of Coatzacoalcos. Hayek's father is of Lebanese ancestry, while her mother's ancestry is Spanish. Her first given name, Salma, is Arabic for "safe". Raised in a wealthy, devoutly Roman Catholic family, she was sent to the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, Louisiana, at the age of twelve. While there, she was diagnosed with dyslexia. She attended college in Mexico City, where she studied International Relations at the Universidad Iberoamericana.
At the age of 23, Hayek landed the title role in Teresa (1989), a successful Mexican telenovela that made her a star in Mexico. In 1994, Hayek starred in the film El Callejón de los Milagros (Miracle Alley), which has won more awards than any other movie in the history of Mexican cinema.[citation needed] For her performance, Hayek was nominated for an Ariel Award.
The Everly Brothers, Don and Phil; born Isaac Donald "Don" Everly on February 1, 1937 and Phillip "Phil" Everly on January 19, 1939, are country-influenced rock and roll performers, known for steel-string guitar playing and close harmony singing. The group was elected to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
Don and Phil Everly are both guitarists and use vocal harmony mostly based on parallel thirds. With this, each line can often stand on its own as a melody line. This is in contrast to classic harmony lines which, while working well alongside the melody, are not as melodic by themselves.
For most of their recordings, Don sings the lower harmony part, while Phil takes the higher. One exception is on "Devoted To You". Although Don is still low and Phil is high, they switch lead and harmony back and forth. Don almost always sings any lines that are sung solo (for example, the verses of "Bye Bye Love".) Among the exceptions to this rule is the Everlys' 1965 single "It's All Over", where Phil sings the song's solo lines.
Mark Freuder Knopfler, OBE (born 12 August 1949) is a Scottish-born British guitarist, singer, songwriter, record producer and film score composer. He is best known as the lead guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter for the British rock band Dire Straits, which he co-founded in 1977. After Dire Straits disbanded in 1995, Knopfler went on to record and produce six solo albums, including Golden Heart (1996), Sailing to Philadelphia (2000), and Get Lucky (2009). He has composed and produced film scores for eight films, including Local Hero (1983), Cal (1984), and The Princess Bride (1987). In addition to his work with Dire Straits and as a solo artist and composer, Knopfler has recorded and performed with many prominent musical artists, including Phil Lynott, Chet Atkins, The Chieftains, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Jools Holland, Sonny Landreth, and Van Morrison. He has produced albums for Tina Turner, Bob Dylan, and Randy Newman.
Knopfler is one of the most respected fingerstyle guitarists of the modern rock era, and was ranked 27th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. Knopfler and Dire Straits have sold in excess of 120 million albums to date. A four-time Grammy Award winner, Knopfler is the recipient of the Edison Award and the Steiger Award, and holds three honorary doctorate degrees in music from universities in the United Kingdom.
Chester Burton Atkins (June 20, 1924 – June 30, 2001), known as Chet Atkins, was an American guitarist and record producer who, along with Owen Bradley, created the smoother country music style known as the Nashville sound, which expanded country's appeal to adult pop music fans as well.
Atkins's picking style, inspired by Merle Travis, Django Reinhardt, George Barnes and Les Paul, brought him admirers within and outside the country scene, both in the United States and internationally. Atkins produced records for The Browns, Porter Wagoner, Norma Jean, Dolly Parton, Dottie West, Perry Como, Elvis Presley, the Everly Brothers, Eddy Arnold, Don Gibson, Jim Reeves, Jerry Reed, Skeeter Davis, Waylon Jennings and many others.
Among many honors, Atkins received 14 Grammy Awards as well as the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, nine Country Music Association Instrumentalist of the Year awards, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
The girl in the moon
Is alone with the stars
And the spaceships
The girl in the moon
Is alone and alive
With the dust and the air
Nothing grows
Everything is moving
But only goes in circles
And no one to talk to
Is reason enough to be blue
The girl in the moon
(We've been waiting to see)
With her dreams
(If this girl she will smile)
Has a steel melting smile
(Before she disappears)
But the girl with the blues
(You know we've been waiting here)
In the moon
(For such a long while)
Hasn't smiled for a long while
Nothing grows
Everything is moving
But only goes around her
And no one to sing to
Is reason enough to be
Blue, blue, blue x 4
The girl in the moon
With her dreams
Has a steel melting smile
But the girl with the blues
In the moon
Hasn't smiled for a long while
Blue, blue, blue x 4
Hey moon
Hey moon
We've been waiting to see
If this girl she will smile
You know we've been waiting
Here for such long while
Hey moon
la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
Hey moon
la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la ,la x 2
I know a little place in Hollywood
It's open year round
But only after dark, so
Bring your gal and bring your wine
Unwind from your day
Gee, don't you know
That you're in for a show
When you go to the Hotel Café
I know a little place in Hollywood
It's open year round
But only after dark, so
Bring your gal and bring your wine
Unwind from your day
Gee, don't you know
That you're in for a show
When you go to the Hotel Café
I've been up down all around
Looking for a place to spend my nights
I don't wannna give it away
I I don't wanna everybody crowding up my space
But I believe in sharing
When you find a good thing
It's only common sense
Nobody likes to do it alone
It's dark and warm and candle lit
The perfect hideaway
But only if it (sh) stays a secret
Don't be shy now come on by
Come here the band play
Gee, don't you know
That you're in for a show
When you go to the Hotel Café
(Hey, hey hey)
Hoo-hah, sing it again, boys
(Hey, hey hey)
Uh-huh
[scatting and vocalizing]
I've been up down all around
Looking for a place to spend my nights
I don't wanna give it away
I I don't wanna everybody crowding up my space
I believe in sharing
When you find a good thing
It's only common sense
(Nobody likes to do it alone)
Hahahah
So, if you see my little place in Hollywood
Don't tell your mother, brother, sister Sally, or uncle Joe
Just bring your gal and bring your wine
Unwind from your day
Gee, don't you know
That you're in for a show
When you go, go, go-o-o-o
Gee, don't you know
That you're in for a show
When you go to the Hotel Café
Baby when you kiss me
Like I made you miss me
Even though I'm dancing
In your arms
Baby when we go slow
Like the radio so
Tender when they call
And love is on the line
I'm so glad you're mine
And when I close my eyes
All I can see
Is your smiling face
Loving me
And I don't know if I told you
You can't go 'til I've told you
That I think you are
The sweetest thing
I love it when you whisper
I can hardly help it
Want to tell you things
I should never confess
Baby when you touch me
Sends a shiver through me
To you I surrender
For all my life
I feel so amazed
When you're not near
Cause baby I would wait forever
Just to see your face
And I don't know if I told you
(I don't know if I told you)
You can't go 'til I've told you
(You can't go 'til I've told you)
That I think you are
The sweetest thing
You touch my hand
Oh here I'll show you
Well do it again
It's like I told you
That I think you are
The sweetest thing
I don't know if I told you
(I don't know if I told you)
You can't go 'til I've told you
(You can't go 'til I've told you)
That I think you are
I don't know if I told you
(I don't know if I told you)
You can't go 'til I've told you
(You can't go 'til I've told you)
That I think you are
The sweetest thing
Oh I think you are
[Verse 1]
The Room is dark
And my hands are folded
Across my heart
And I pray to god
That you're thinking of me too
[Chorus]
There's a beating in my chest
A scream inside my head
That says
'I love you'
There's a beating in my chest
A scream inside my head
That says
'I love you'
[Verse 2]
From the perfect fold of your fingers
I know you're the only one I can need
You said we'd be best friends until the end
Oh what would you do if you knew?
[Chorus]
There's a beating in my chest
A scream inside my head
That says
'I love you'
There's a beating in my chest
A scream inside my head
That says
'I love you'
[Verse 3]
From all the words
That you never spoke to me
And I'm always left imagining
You and me
(You and me)
There's a beating
And a scream inside my head
[Chorus]
There's a beating in my chest
A scream inside my head
That says
'I love you'
There's a beating in my chest
A scream inside my head
That says
I dreamed of a devil last night
He tempted me with a wicked tongue and a rough hand
Said it's alright honey it's alright
you can leave that man
When I woke my head was spinning
As I recall all of the things he said
Made me feel less of a woman
Making me feel like a whore instead
I won't be going to my grave
I got a lot to live for
I won't be rocking in my faith
Yeah yeah yeah
I got a lot to hope for
I dreamed of a Devil last night
Amazing such a little thing
Can get in your head
Saying it's alright it's alright
You can stay in my bed
Stay in my bed
Stay here in my
No no no no
I'm not going to my grave
I got a lot to live for
I won't be rocking in my faith
Yeah yeah yeah
I got a lot to hope for
I'm not going to my grave
Yeah yeah yeah
I got a lot to live for
Little children
Go in circles
He will sing you lullabies
Little children
Rest your heads
No more monsters
No more devils
You are not who the wicked call you
Peace and strong and joy
Pure and peace and strong and joy
All you little children
Everyday I find I am looking for me
And these unfinished lives
Every movement and emotion settles my heart
It is paralyzing
Maybe I am crazy
I say there is a better way
And these waves come crashing on my shore
I will not be moved 'cause I know who I am
When the stars all go home
I won't fight to be known
I will listen for your voice
That calls me home
All of the lights are dimming
The comfort is cold
I am drowning in the quiet
I take off my make-up
I am tired of this side of my face
And my unfinished life
Maybe I am crazy
I say there is a better way
And these waves come crashing on my shore
I will not be moved 'cause I know who I am
When the stars all go home
I won't fight to be known
I will listen for your voice
That calls me home
When the stars all go home
I won't fight to be known
I will listen for your voice
That calls me home
Listen for your voice
That calls me
Listen for your voice
i like to say i made good use of my time while you were away
and it's true i've been at my piano everyday thinking of you
they talk around i hear them whispering it's the funniest thing really
they think you're gone forever i know the truth
it's just getting hard to believe it
when they all tell me it's over even the starts are alligned and i
i follow the signs so clearly and still i've fallen
the quicksand's pulling me down i follow the signs so clearly and still they catch me the quicksand's pulling me down
i am not the same i cant sleep nights and now i am calling your name
and yet without you they say i got on better and better and better
when they all tell me it's over i'll damn the gods untill the stars are alligned and i
i follow the signs so clearly and still i've fallen the quicksand's pulling me down
i follow the signs so clearly and still they catch me the quicksand is pulling me down
look at my life and look can't you see my heart bleeding down my sleeves
so you're holding my hand and holding my heart but i just wanna feel you inside me so i can breathe
somewhere in the distance i catch a spark of grace and hope something makes me feel like i am alive
it's never too soon it's never too late so i start screaming out
i see your face i see your hand reaching down and i yell and you and i say
i follow the signs so clearly and still i've fallen the quicksand's pulling me down
i follow the sign so clearly and still i've fallen the quicksand is pulling me down
i follow the signs so clearly and still i've fallen the quicksand's pulling me down
i know you can feel me rising , i am on fire if you keep on pulling me out
look at my life and look at my face and look what i've come to get to this place with you
Being here to sit and lay at your feet and rest in your arms
And listen to your heart beat.
oooh.oooh....oooh ooh ooh

Gee, don't you know

When you go to the Hotel Café
Yeah
Be safe and close darling
Your heart is precious to me
When you are exploring
Remember all you see
Is only the view of the world
From your flying machine
So distant you wander
You've lost your way it seems
Pretending you're happy
Nobody else believes
You're ever going to come down
From your flying machine
These days you are keeping
Distinguished company
The blackbird, the robin
The tiny honeybees
I miss you my lover
You're gone through space and time
To search for another
Won't you come back and be mine?
Leave all the madness behind
From your flying machine
Everybody wants your magic elixir
Mix her and fix her
Oh, that's a trick, sir
Hold on to your hat
Watch off the black cats
All this bewitching has taken my lover away
Your heart is precious to me
When you are exploring
Remember all you see
Is only the view of the world
I will not sleep well tonight (I will not sleep well tonight)
I will not be found when the morning brings the dreaded light
I will kiss the lips that say goodbye (I will kiss your lips)
Clinging to the comfort of my God all night
I will not be moved by and by (I will not be moved by and by)
I am not ashamed of the battle though my eyes may cry
I will kiss the lips that bid farewell (I will kiss your lips)
As you march to the sound of the mission bell
Oh the glimmer of the light along the water
And the sound of the children on the shore
Oh the sweet fields of gold beneath the big blue sky
Let it be
Home is me
You are mine
Life is moving on day by day (life is moving on day by day)
Friendship overflowing, but to me you cannot be replaced
I will hold you tight in my dreams (I will hold you tight)
Though you're gone you're not as distant as it seems
Oh the glimmer of the light along the water
And the sound of the children on the shore
Oh the sweet fields of gold beneath the big blue sky
Let it be
Home is me
You are mine
Oh the purple mountains majesty is calling
And the northern lights still dance above the snow
Yes amazing grace is still the fire beneath this life
Let it be
Home is me
You are mine
Let it be
Home is me
You are mine
Let it be
Home is me

I know this pain
Why do lock yourself up in these chains?
No one can change your life except for you
Don't ever let anyone step all over you
Just open your heart and your mind
Is it really fair to feel this way inside?
Some day somebody's gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Don't you know?
Don't you know things can change
Things'll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on for one more day
Things'll go your way
Hold on for one more day
You could sustain
Or are you comfortable with the pain?
You've got no one to blame for your unhappiness
You got yourself into your own mess
Just lettin' your worries pass you by
Don't you think it's worth your time
To change your mind?
Some day somebody's gonna make you want to Turn around
and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Don't you know?
Don't you know things can change
Things'll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on for one more day
Things'll go your way
Hold on for one more day
I know that there is pain
But you hold on for one more day
Break free from the chains
I know that there is pain
But you hold on for one more day
Break free, break from the chains
Some day somebody's gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Don't you know?
Don't you know things can change

Maybe I was wrong
Maybe I was looking in all the wrong places
Maybe I was wrong
Maybe I was searching in all the wrong places
If I knew that you were coming for me,
I would have stayed in one place
If I knew that you were coming for me,
I would have made my peace
Maybe I was wrong
Maybe I was dreamless and full of suffering
Maybe I was wrong
Every time you said you loved me I went running on my
But I can see you now
I'm coming home
I can see you now
I'm coming home
Maybe I was wrong
Maybe I was looking at all the wrong faces
Maybe I was wrong
Maybe I was searching in all the wrong places
If I knew that you were coming for me,
I would have stayed in one place
If I knew that you were coming for me,
I would have made my peace
But I can see you now
I'm coming home
I can see you now
I'm coming home
I have my life in my own hands
I journey through the promise land
Taking what I can and never looking back
But I fell so far so fast
And all the years of moving past you in the crowd
Are catching up at last
And there you are looking at me with eyes full of love
Giving me another chance to come home and dance
I make my peace now
I throw the pain down
Walk towards the light and thank the world
I want a dress, nice and pale
With a hat on the top of the sheer tailored vail
Pink on the sash so it matches the beads of Swarovski glass
I want a day full of love
How lovely
I wanna get married
Gee, how swell that would be
I wanna get married
Wanna be Mrs. S-C-O-T-T
I want a house on a hill
With our own little Jack and Jill
I want a dog in the yard
With a white picket fence and a powder blue car
I want a life full of love
How lovely
I wanna get married
Gee, how swell that would be
I wanna get married
Wanna be Mrs. S-C-O-T-T
I'll make the dinner
He'll pay the bills
I'll pour the coffee
He'll drink his fill
We'll be together
For always and ever
And never be lonely again
And I, I wanna get married
Gee how swell that would
I wanna get married
Wanna be Mrs. S-C-O
Mrs. S-C-O-T
Love, what metal are you made of?
You must be from some scheming star
Love, you're wicked and heavenly
You set me free
Then you lock the door
I can't go back
and I can't go forward
You got me wrapped around your finger
Tie a a rope around me
Ready, aim, and pull the trigger
Love, you push me and say I've fallen
It's your fault really
If I'm a fool
This train don't stop and it don't go nowhere
You got me wrapped around your finger
You wrote the song and you made me the singer
{Instrumental}
Love, tell me what metal are you made of?
Hold me
A little bit closer
Tell me where you wanna be
Where you wanna be
We can write
A story in the sunrise
We can tell the legions of the sea
Legions of the sea
We'll tell them
The story goes that you and I will make it
The story goes that nothing will break this
The story goes that forever's in our hearts
When everything is lovely
When everything is fine
It's the right time
To hold on to you
When everything is broken
When everything's all wrong
It's the right time
To hold on to you
It's always the right time
To hold on to you
Whisper your name in the moonlight
Display the portrait of who you are
(Portrait of who you are)
Capture the dreams
Of our future
Command the heavens
To follow through
The heavens
To follow through
Tell them
The story goes that you and I will make it
The story goes that nothing will break this
The story goes that forever's in our hearts
When everything is lovely
When everything is fine
It's the right time
To hold on to you
When everything is broken
When everything's all wrong
It's the right time
To hold on to you
It's always the right time
To hold on to you
We never have to wonder
Where we went wrong
We're making our own way
Well none of this will crumble
If we keep believing
(Believing)
When everything is lovely
When everything is fine
It's the right time
To hold on to you
When everything is broken
When everything's all wrong
It's the right time
To hold on to you
It's always the right time
Many times I've tried to tell you
Many times I've cried alone
Always I'm surprised how well you cut my feelings to
the bone
Don't wan't to leave you really
I've invested too much time
To give you up that easy
To the doubts that complicate your mind
We belong to the light, we belong to the thunder
We belong to the sound of the words we're both fallen

Whatever we deny, or embrace for worse or for better
We belong, we belong, we belong together
Maybe it's a sign of weakness when I don't know what to
Maybe I just wouldn't know my strength anyway
Has this become a habit?
Do I distort the facts?
Now there's just looking forward
And there's no turning back
When you say
We belong to the light, we belong to thunder
We belong to the sound of the words we're both fallen
under
Whatever we deny, or embrace for worse or for better
We belong, we belong, we belong together
Close your eyes and try to sleep now
Close your eyes and try to dream
Clear your mind and do your best to try and wash the
palette clean
We can't begin to know it
How much we really care
I hear your voice inside me
I see your face everywhere
Still you say
We belong to the light, we belong to the thunder
We belong to the sound of the words we're both fallen
under
Whatever we deny, or embrace for worse or for better
We belong, we belong, we belong together
We belong to the light, we belong to the thunder
We belong to the sound of the words we're both fallen
under
Whatever we deny, or embrace for worse or for better
