The Wire is my favourite TV show ever made, I have produced my own trailer for each season of the show.
I wanted to make something true to at least part of a storyline within the season and highlight some of my favourite scenes in the show. If you haven't watched it I highly recommend you do.

Time Spent On Project: Approximately 11 hours
Season 1 of The Wire focuses on the duality between the police and the drug dealers in Baltimore, while it is essentially a crime drama it goes above and beyond the norm. Ultimately it is an account of life in an American city, the same issues can be seen throughout the country and indeed in other countries as well. It shows the institutional dysfunction and how all of us are compromised by and must contend with whatever institution we are committed to, be it the police force, a drug gang, dock worker it doesn't matter, we are all part of the game and the game is rigged.

Dominic West
Dominic Gerard Francis Eagleton West (born 15 October 1969) is an English actor, musician and director. He is best known for portraying Detective Jimmy McNulty in the HBO drama series The Wire, and won the award for Leading Actor at the 2012 British Academy Television Awards for portraying serial killer Fred West in Appropriate Adult.
He currently stars as Noah Solloway on the Showtime drama series, The Affair, for which he has received a Golden Globe nomination.
Early life
West was born into a Catholic family of English and Irish descent, in Sheffield, West Riding of Yorkshire, the son of Moya (Cleary), a housewife, and George West, who owned a plastics factory. He attended Eton College and Trinity College, Dublin. He graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1995.
Career

West's screen appearances include True Blue, Chicago, Richard III, and Mona Lisa Smile. His most notable television role has been as the American police detective Jimmy McNulty on the HBO television police drama The Wire, set in Baltimore, Maryland. West was praised for the accuracy of his character's American accent.

John Doman
John Doman (born January 9, 1945) is an American actor best known for playing Deputy Police Commissioner/ Major William Rawls on HBO series The Wire from 2002 to 2008, Colonel Edward Galson on Oz in 2001 and Rodrigo Borgia in the international television series Borgia from 2011 to 2014. John Doman is currently starring as Don Carmine Falcone in Fox's hit show Gotham (2014–present).
Doman was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is an alumnus of Northeast Catholic High School. He is a 1962 graduate of North, an All-Catholic League football player and a member of the school's Hall of Fame. He is a 1966 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in English Literature and played varsity football.
Prior to embarking on a successful acting career, he spent 20 years in the advertising business. He was an officer in the Marine Corps with service in the Vietnam War.
Acting career
Doman had cameos in the 1997 film Cop Land and the film 2003 Mystic River. He also had a role on the film The Opponent. Doman also had a small part in the 2010 film Blue Valentine.

Idris Elba
Idrissa Akuna "Idris" Elba, OBE (/ˈɪdrəs ˈɛlbə/; born 6 September 1972) is a British actor, musician, and DJ. He is best known for his portrayal of drug lord and aspiring businessman Russell "Stringer" Bell in the HBO series The Wire, Detective John Luther in the BBC One series Luther, and Nelson Mandela in the 2013 biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. He has been nominated five times for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Television Film, winning one, as well being nominated four times for a Primetime Emmy Award.
Elba has appeared in films such as American Gangster (2007), Takers (2010), Thor (2011), Prometheus (2012), Pacific Rim (2013), Thor: The Dark World (2013), and Beasts of No Nation (2015). In addition to his acting work, he is a DJ under the moniker DJ Big Driis (or Big Driis the Londoner) and hip hop soul musician.
Early life
Elba was born in Newham, London. His father, Winston, was a Sierra Leonean who worked in a Dagenham Ford motor factory, and his mother, Eve, was a Ghanaian who had a clerical job. Elba's parents married in Sierra Leone and moved to London. Elba was raised in East Ham and shortened his first name from Idrissa to Idris at school in Canning Town, where he first became involved in acting. He credits The Stage with giving him his first big break; having seen an advertisement for a play in the newspaper, Elba auditioned and met his first agent while performing in the role. In 1986, he began helping an uncle with his wedding DJ business; within a year, he had started his own DJ company with some of his friends.

The Wire
The Wire is an American crime drama television series set and produced in and around Baltimore, Maryland. Created and primarily written by author and former police reporter David Simon, the series was broadcast by the cable network HBO in the United States. The Wire premiered on June 2, 2002, and ended on March 9, 2008, comprising 60 episodes over five seasons.
Each season of The Wire introduces a different institution in the city of Baltimore and its relationship to law enforcement, while retaining characters and advancing storylines from previous seasons. In chronological order these institutions are: the illegal drug trade, the seaport system, the city government and bureaucracy, the school system, and the print news media. The large cast consists mainly of character actors who are little known for their other roles, as well as numerous real-life Baltimore and Maryland figures in guest and recurring roles. Simon has said that despite its framing as a crime drama, the show is "really about the American city, and about how we live together. It's about how institutions have an effect on individuals. Whether one is a cop, a longshoreman, a drug dealer, a politician, a judge or a lawyer, all are ultimately compromised and must contend with whatever institution to which they are committed."

List of The Wire episodes
The Wire, a television drama series created by David Simon, premiered on June 2, 2002 on HBO in the United States and ended on March 9, 2008. 60 episodes aired over the show's five seasons, plus three additional prequel shorts. Each episode has a running time of 55-60 minutes.
The Wire is set in Baltimore, Maryland; each season of the series focuses on a different part of the city. The show features a large ensemble cast; many characters are only featured prominently in a single season. A group of characters, mainly in the Baltimore Police Department, appear in every season.
The show is available on DVD in Region 1, 2 and 4.

Set in Baltimore, this show centers around the city's inner-city drug scene. It starts as mid-level drug dealer, D'Angelo Barksdale beats a murder rap. After a conversation with a judge, Det. James McNulty has been assigned to lead a joint homicide and narcotics team, in order to bring down drug kingpin Avon Barksdale. Avon Barksdale, accompanied by his right-hand man Stringer Bell, enforcer Wee-Bey and many lieutenants (including his own nephew, D'Angelo Barksdale), has to deal with law enforcement, informants in his own camp, and competition with a local rival, Omar, who's been robbing Barksdale's dealers and reselling the drugs. The supervisor of the investigation, Lt. Cedric Daniels, has to deal with his own problems, such as a corrupt bureaucracy, some of his detectives beating suspects, hard-headed but determined Det. McNulty, and a blackmailing deputy. The show depicts the lives of every part of the drug "food chain", from junkies to dealers, and from cops to politicians.

In 1782, Choderlos de Laclos’ novel of sex, intrigue and betrayal in pre-revolutionary France scandalised the world. Two hundred years later, Christopher Hampton's irresistible adaptation swept the board, winning the Olivier and Evening Standard Awards for Best Play. Josie Rourke’s revival now marks the play’s thirty year anniversary.
Former lovers, the Marquise de Merteuil and Vicomte de Valmont now compete in games of seduction and revenge. Merteuil incites Valmont to corrupt the innocent Cecile de Volanges before her wedding night but Valmont has targeted the peerlessly virtuous and beautiful Madame de Tourvel. While these merciless aristocrats toy with others’ hearts and reputations, their own may prove more fragile than they supposed.

Created and primarily written by author and former police reporter David Simon, the series was broadcast by the cable network HBO in the United States. The Wire premiered on June 2, 2002, and ended on March 9, 2008, comprising 60 episodes over five seasons.
