George Galloway (born 16 August 1954) is a British politician, broadcaster, and writer. From 2012 to 2015 he was the Respect Party Member of Parliament (MP) for Bradford West.
After becoming the youngest ever chairman of the Scottish Labour Party in 1981, he became General Secretary of the London-based charity War on Want in 1983, remaining in the post until he was elected as a Labour MP for Glasgow Hillhead at the 1987 general election. From 1997, Galloway represented its successor constituency Glasgow Kelvin, and remained as the MP for the seat until 2005. In October 2003, Galloway was expelled from Labour, having been found guilty by the party's national constitutional committee of four of the five charges of bringing the party into disrepute. Although a number of Labour MPs opposed the Iraq War, Galloway was the only one to be expelled from the party for his statements concerning the conflict.
In 2004, he became a member of Respect – The Unity Coalition, later known as the Respect Party (eventually becoming its leader by late 2013), and was elected as MP for Bethnal Green and Bow at the general election the following year. After unsuccessfully contesting the seat of Poplar and Limehouse in 2010, where he came third, with 17.5% of the vote, he returned to Westminster at the Bradford West by-election in 2012. Galloway was defeated at the 2015 general election, after a campaign in which he was accused of making false statements about the Labour candidate, Naz Shah, and was reported to the police for allegedly breaking election law.
Galloway (Gaelic: Gall-ghàidheil; Latin: Gallovidia) is a region in southwestern Scotland comprising the counties of Wigtown and Kirkcubright. The name means "foreign Gaels" referring to the Gaels of mixed Scandinavian and Gaelic origin who were once prevalent in the area.
Galloway is bounded by sea to the west and south, the Galloway Hills to the north, and the River Nith to the east; the border between Kirkcudbright and Wigtown shires is marked by the River Cree. The definition has, however, fluctuated greatly in size over history.
A hardy breed of black, hornless beef named Galloway cattle is native to the region, in addition to the more distinctive 'Belted Galloway' or 'Beltie'.
Galloway comprises that part of Scotland southwards from the Southern Upland watershed and westward from the River Nith. Traditionally it has been described as stretching from "the bras of Glenapp to the Nith". The valleys of three rivers, the Urr Water, the Water of Ken and River Dee, and the Cree, all running north-south, provide much of the good arable land, although there is also some arable land on the coast. Generally however the landscape is rugged and much of the soil is shallow. The generally south slope and southern coast make for mild and wet climate, and there is a great deal of good pasture.

Timothy Leslie Boyd (born 14 December 1952), better known as Tommy Boyd, is a British radio presenter.
From 1977 to 1980, Boyd was co-presenter of the ITV children's flagship magazine programme Magpie replacing Douglas Rae. In 1981, he devised, wrote, and presented, "What's Happening?", a news quiz. He also presented the Saturday TV-am show Wide Awake Club from 1986–1990, and its Sunday spin-off WAC Extra, throughout the 1980s. In 1982 he joined the cast of Jigsaw, including Janet Ellis, Sylvester McCoy and David Rappaport. Boyd also hosted Children's BBC programme called Puzzle Trail.
Between 1982 and 1984, Boyd also fronted Central Television's Saturday morning kids TV show The Saturday Show alongside Isla St Clair and followed this with Saturday Starship in 1985 (co-presented by Bonnie Langford). From April 1991 – December 1992, he spent a period as the presenter for ITV's children's strand. In 1993/4, Boyd worked on the The Children's Channel, a satellite television channel.
James Whale (22 July 1889 – 29 May 1957) was an English film director, theatre director and actor. He is best remembered for his four classic horror films: Frankenstein (1931), The Old Dark House (1932), The Invisible Man (1933) and Bride of Frankenstein (1935). Whale also directed films in other genres, including what is considered the definitive film version of the musical Show Boat (1936). He became increasingly disenchanted with his association with horror, but many of his non-horror films have fallen into obscurity.
Whale was born into a large family in Dudley, in the Black Country area of the English West Midlands. He discovered his artistic talent early on and studied art. With the outbreak of World War I, he enlisted in the British Army and became an officer. He was captured by the Germans and during his time as a prisoner of war he realized he was interested in drama. Following his release at the end of the war he became an actor, set designer and director. His success directing the 1928 play Journey's End led to his move to the United States, first to direct the play on Broadway and then to Hollywood to direct motion pictures. He lived in Hollywood for the rest of his life, most of that time with his longtime companion, producer David Lewis. Apart from Journey's End (1930), which was released by Tiffany Films, and Hell's Angels (1930), released by United Artists, he directed a dozen films for Universal Studios between 1931 and 1937, developing a style characterized by the influence of German Expressionism and a highly mobile camera.

Presenter Jo Coburn learns how not to conduct an interview. George Galloway tries to talk about his supporting the Out-EU Brexit referendum campaign. Recorded from BBC2 HD, Daily Politics, 22 February 2016.
George Galloway on Question Time after the release of the Chilcot Report.
Former Respect MP George Galloway objects to questions put to him over his role in the EU referendum. The London mayoral candidate said the questioning by Jo Coburn on the Daily Politics was indicative of a "childish discourse" in the EU referendum campaign, focusing on personalities rather than policies. Querying when the interview would move on to substantial differences of opinion between the camps, he said: "Every question you have asked has been about me." This week we look at the future of Brexit and Donald Trump’s election victory, both of which have sent unprecedented volatility coursing through international markets, and rocked the British economy as well. Is Sterling up or down and what does that mean; are the international markets crashing, burning, or booming, and should we care; does Donald Trump really intend to both massively increase spending and implement massive tax cuts, while ditching trade deals worldwide at the same time? Whichever way you look at it, there is no doubt that the kaleidoscope has been shaken and the pieces are still in flux. In this very special economics edition, we invite a very special guest who has occupied all the commanding heights of financial journalism in Britain, from The Times to the Evening Stand...

George Galloway speaks out in a controversial interview on Sky News 06/08/2006, about the on-going tension in the Middle East, specifically referring to Israel, Lebanon and Palestine and speaks about USA and Iran also. Love him or hate him, this is sure to be a well talked about piece and I for one was shocked when I saw it. Tell me what you think.
