Started out in stand-up as one-half of the comedy team "Burns & Carlin" with George Carlin. After the duo broke up, Jack went on to become a member of the famed Second City comedy troupe in Chicago, where he met Avery Schreiber. He and Schreiber would perform as a comedy team for several years before Jack would go on to become the head writer on the first season of The Muppet Show (1976). See more »
