Near Death is an ongoing comic book series created by Jay Faerber with artist Simone Guglielmini. Image Comics began publishing it in September 2011. The series went on hiatus following the eleventh issue in September 2012.
The story follows a former hitman who attempts to atone for his misdeeds after a near death experience shows him a vision of Hell.
Faerber credits the work of Stephen J. Cannell as his inspiration for the series, along with a personal attraction to redemtion stories. Guglielmini drew inspiration from Criminal and Gotham Central.
After creating the plot himself, Faerber recruited Italian artist Guglielmini by email. During publication, the two never met in person or spoke on the phone.
The series was published monthly beginning in 2011. Most issues were self-contained instead of multi-part stories because Faerber wanted a creative challenge. Each issue contains some form of bonus material, such as an article on crime fiction or a second, shorter comic. The series was put on hiatus following its eleventh issue in 2012. Faerber has expressed an interest in continuing the story as a series of one-shots. There has also been an effort to adapt the comic to television.
A near-death experience (NDE) is a personal experience associated with impending death, encompassing multiple possible sensations including detachment from the body, feelings of levitation, total serenity, security, warmth, the experience of absolute dissolution, and the presence of a light.
Explanatory models for the NDE can be divided into several broad categories, including psychological, physiological, and transcendental explanations. Research from neuroscience considers the NDE to be a hallucinatory state caused by various physiological and psychological factors.
The equivalent French term expérience de mort imminente (experience of imminent death) was proposed by the French psychologist and epistemologist Victor Egger as a result of discussions in the 1890s among philosophers and psychologists concerning climbers' stories of the panoramic life review during falls. In 1968 Celia Green published an analysis of 400 first-hand accounts of out-of-body experiences. This represented the first attempt to provide a taxonomy of such experiences, viewed simply as anomalous perceptual experiences, or hallucinations. These experiences were popularized by the work of psychiatrist Raymond Moody in 1975 as the near-death experience (NDE).
Experience is the knowledge or mastery of an event or subject gained through involvement in or exposure to it. Terms in philosophy, such as "empirical knowledge" or "a posteriori knowledge," are used to refer to knowledge based on experience. A person with considerable experience in a specific field can gain a reputation as expert. The concept of experience generally refers to know-how or procedural knowledge, rather than propositional knowledge: on-the-job training rather than book-learning.
The interrogation of experience has a long tradition in continental philosophy. Experience plays an important role in the philosophy of Søren Kierkegaard. The German term Erfahrung, often translated into English as "experience", has a slightly different implication, connoting the coherency of life's experiences.
Certain religious traditions (such as types of Buddhism, Surat Shabd Yoga, mysticism and Pentecostalism) and educational paradigms with, for example, the conditioning of military recruit-training (also known as "boot camps"), stress the experiential nature of human epistemology. This stands in contrast to alternatives: traditions of dogma, logic or reasoning. Participants in activities such as tourism, extreme sports and recreational drug-use also tend to stress the importance of experience.

Dr Mary Helen Hensley was involved in a car accident that resulted in her seeing the afterlife, the near death experience changed her life forever. Upon impact, traveling at more than seventy-five miles per hour, she felt time stall and temporarily left her body. In those moments, Mary Helen was consumed with a sudden clarity. She realized she had the choice to either remain in her body or exit from the earth, allowing the remainder of the scene to unfold without feeling any pain. She chose to depart from her body-and enter heaven. In heaven, Mary Helen was welcomed by two angels who walked her through the place of light and encouraged her to go back to earth and help others. When she returned to earth, Mary Helen was suddenly struck with a desire to live a life of service and quickly se...

My NDE Showed Me There is Order in [Apparent] Chaos -- Amy Call, 2014 IANDS Conference Amy Call had a profound near-death experience in 2003 as a result of an allergic reaction to medication. Amy will discuss her experience, including that of coming through a portal and encountering two major aspects of herself: one part of self was egoic self or personality self, reflective of who she was in Earth life. The other self she encountered was universal, timeless and part of the all. Both experiences seemed to occur simultaneously. Amy learned the importance of humility in the egoic portal area. She met a young woman who had died at about the same time Amy did. She gave Amy information about herself and her death telepathically. After Amy came back to her body, she was able to find the young w...
This is the incredible story of a woman who drowned on a coral reef while being pounded by the ocean and tangled in seaweed. The last thing she saw before she closed her eyes was sharks circling around her. The next thing she saw was Jesus. Find out what Lani Beasley was told by the Lord during her amazing experience. This occurred some years ago. What is also remarkable about Lani’s story, is that at a later time she was protected from death a second time by an angel in a car versus truck accident. While recovering from the accident she promised the Lord that she would share her story. This powerful testimony to God’s faithfulness is in many ways, unlike any other Near Death Experience account. The message is one that many who are struggling in this life will find very encouraging and u...

Also see: https://www.amazon.com/Self-Does-Not-Die-Experiences/dp/0997560800/ref=sr_1_1 Jed Archdeacon had an NDE after a near-fatal asthma attack. That morning, Jed’s mother Diana was overcome by a strong feeling of love for him, and she also felt particularly drawn to a family photo, especially to his likeness in it. Still completely overwhelmed by these unusually intense feelings for Jed, she went out to work in the garden. Soon she had another strange feeling. She felt drawn to some alyssum flowers. They had planted the alyssum at Jed’s request, because it bore his favorite flower. Jed had selected the alyssum together with his mother and had helped plant it. Diana picked some of the tiny flowers from the bed, smell...

Radio: http://www.talkzone.com/shows/199/NDERadio.html Website http://www.iands.org Karen Thomas shares her NDE story from July 7, 1982 – and the verification of her out of body perceptions. The surgeon saved her life and Karen was able to verify with him what she had seen while out of body. Recently, Karen followed up with the surgeon again and he remembers that day even after nearly 35 years, and remembers some of their later conversation. Karen experienced a vision of prayers, which appeared like “musical notes” that she saw rising up to her from people praying for her -- especially the prayer of her 9-year-old daughter.

J'y vois clair maintenant
Changer les choses
Changer le monde
Avoir ce qu'il y a de mieux
J'aurais voulu changer les choses
Changer le monde
Pour être encore un peu heureuse
Changer les choses
Changer le monde
Avoir ce qu'il y a de mieux
J'aurais voulu changer les choses
Changer le monde
Pour être encore un peu heureuse
Changer de vie
Changer aussi
J'ai juste voulu changer d'histoire
Encore y croire
Changer de vie
Changer aussi
J'ai juste voulu changer de vie
J'aurais voulu changer les choses
Changer le monde
Avoir ce qu'il y a de mieux
J'aurais voulu changer les choses
Changer le monde
Pour être encore un peu heureuse
