A female stunt driver has died on the set of Deadpool 2 in downtown Vancouver during the filming of a stunt on a motorcycle.

According to Deadline, the woman, an experienced road racer, was doing her first film as a stunt performer, and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident because her character, Domino, played by actress Zazie Beetz, did not wear one in the scene.
Echoing an earlier statement from studio 20th Century Fox, star Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to say he and the film's crew were "devastated" by the tragic accident.
"Today, we tragically lost a member of our crew while filming Deadpool," he said.

"We're heartbroken, shocked and devastated... but recognise nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must feel in this moment.

The Deadpool sequel is currently filming in Canada.
The sequel to the 2016 superhero movie Deadpool starring Ryan Reynolds is currently being filmed in Vancouver. The production was halted immediately following the accident, with Fox yet to detail when filming will resume.
The news follows another stunt accident reported by TMZ on Sunday when Tom Cruise crashed into a wall while filming Mission: Impossible 6, and appeared to walk away with a limp. The extent of his injuries are currently unknown.
