Social media

Social media are computer-mediated tools that allow people or companies to create, share, or exchange information, career interests, ideas, and pictures/videos in virtual communities and networks. Social media is defined as "a group of Internet-based applications that build on the ideological and technological foundations of Web 2.0, and that allow the creation and exchange of user-generated content." Furthermore, social media depend on mobile and web-based technologies to create highly interactive platforms through which individuals and communities share, co-create, discuss, and modify user-generated content. They introduce substantial and pervasive changes to communication between businesses, organizations, communities, and individuals. These changes are the focus of the emerging field of technoself studies. Social media differ from traditional or industrial media in many ways, including quality,reach, frequency, usability, immediacy, and permanence. Social media operate in a dialogic transmission system (many sources to many receivers). This is in contrast to traditional media that operates under a monologic transmission model (one source to many receivers).

Social media marketing

Social Media Marketing is the process of gaining website traffic or attention through social media sites.

Social media marketing programs usually center on efforts to create content that attracts attention and encourages readers to share it across their social networks. The resulting electronic word of mouth (eWoM) refers to any statement consumers share via the Internet (e.g., web sites, social networks, instant messages, news feeds) about an event, product, service, brand or company, especially on social media platforms. When the underlying message spreads from user to user and presumably resonates because it appears to come from a trusted, third-party source, as opposed to the brand or company itself, this form of marketing results in earned media rather than paid media.

Social networking websites allow individuals and businesses to interact with one another and build relationships and communities online. When companies join these social channels, consumers can interact with them directly. That interaction can be more personal to users than traditional methods of outbound marketing and advertising.

Social

The term social refers to a characteristic of living organisms as applied to populations of humans and other animals. It always refers to the interaction of organisms with other organisms and to their collective co-existence, irrespective of whether they are aware of it or not, and irrespective of whether the interaction is voluntary or involuntary.

Etymology

The word "Social" derives from the Latin word socii ("allies"). It is particularly derived from the Italian Socii states, historical allies of the Roman Republic (although they rebelled against Rome in the Social War of 91-88 BC).

Definition

In the absence of agreement about its meaning, the term "social" is used in many different senses and regarded as a fuzzy concept, referring among other things to:

Attitudes, orientations, or behaviors which take the interests, intentions, or needs of other people into account (in contrast to anti-social behaviour) has played some role in defining the idea or the principle. For instance terms like social realism, social justice, social constructivism, social psychology, social anarchism and social capital imply that there is some social process involved or considered, a process that is not there in regular, "non-social" realism, justice, constructivism, psychology, anarchism, or capital.

Most people like to spam different group pages with their affiliate links hoping that some people will buy products from them and this is the lazy marketers approach. Anyone can spam links and that NEVER works, believe me because I've tried it and failed miserably. When I started applying these 3 simple methods my social media following grew uncontrollably and my income went through the roof. #1 - Personal Development: Read and listen to audios daily The reason why you want to personally develop yourself is because formal education will make you a living but self education will make you a fortune. Most people sit in front of the T.V. all day and night and zone out while they rely on outside influences to entertain them. When you read good book and listen to empowering audios it gives you more context to bring to the table and more value to offer to the marketplace so others will see you as the LEADER that they want to work with. #2 - Create Content Daily - Videos, blog posts, Instagram, Youtube, etc.. If you create a piece of content daily that will allow you to build your brand and other people will begin to engage with your content by leaving comments, likes, and shares. So if you're teaching, training, and educating your audience based on what you're learning in the personal development material that you're reading and listening to then your audience and your following will LOVE you for it! #3 - Follow up with everyone and engage with your audience When you start to gain comments, likes, and shares on all of your content then begin to interact with your audience and show appreciation for their support because this will build a stronger relationship with your target market. You can ask them questions about what they do and how you can help them hit their goals. This beats chasing people on social media and begging them to look into your company or watch a presentation video. As you do all 3 of these things on a daily basis your following will begin to grow. It won't happen overnight but overtime you will start to gain momentum until eventually you have 100's to 1,000's of people requesting to know more about your online business, products, and services.
