Justin Furstenfeld

Justin Steward Furstenfeld (born December 14, 1975 in Houston, Texas) is a record producer, artist, author, and the lead singer, guitarist, and lyricist of the rock band Blue October.

Personal life

When not touring with his band, Furstenfeld resides in San Marcos, Texas. He is the brother of Blue October drummer Jeremy Furstenfeld. He admits to a past of self-harm in his teen years, and suicidal thoughts throughout his life. He has a daughter, named Blue Reed Furstenfeld, to whom he dedicated the album Any Man in America. Blue, and Justin's relationship with her mother, are the subject matter of much of the album.

On June 13, 2012, Justin proposed to his pregnant girlfriend Sarah. On July 28, 2012 they were married in a private ceremony in Wimberley, Texas. Together they have a daughter named Sayde Belle, born August 23rd, 2012

Prior to his music career, Justin worked as an exterminator.

Music career

Growing up, Furstenfeld listened to hip-hop, rock, country, dance; his favorite artists included Marvin Gaye, The Smiths, Red House Painters and Pink Floyd. His first musical memory was Roy Orbison's ballad, "Crying".

John Wayne

Marion Mitchell Morrison (born Marion Robert Morrison; May 26, 1907 – June 11, 1979), known by his stage name John Wayne and by his nickname "Duke", was an American film actor, director, and producer. An Academy Award-winner for True Grit (1969), Wayne was among the top box office draws for three decades. An enduring American icon, for several generations of Americans he epitomized rugged masculinity and is famous for his demeanor, including his distinctive calm voice, walk, and height.

Born in Iowa, Wayne grew up in Southern California. He found work at local film studios when he lost his football scholarship to USC as a result of a bodysurfing accident. Initially working for the Fox Film Corporation, he mostly appeared in small bit parts. His first leading role came in Raoul Walsh's lavish widescreen epic The Big Trail (1930), which led to leading roles in numerous B movies throughout the 1930s, many of them in the Western genre.

Wayne's career took off in 1939, with John Ford's Stagecoach making him an instant mainstream star. Wayne went on to star in 142 pictures. Biographer Ronald Davis says: "John Wayne personified for millions the nation's frontier heritage. Eighty-three of his movies were Westerns, and in them he played cowboys, cavalrymen, and unconquerable loners extracted from the Republic's central creation myth."

Winklevoss twins

The Winklevoss twins (born August 21, 1981), collectively referred to as the Winklevi or Winklevii, are American rowers and Internet entrepreneurs, Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss. They competed in the men's pair rowing event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. They are known for co-founding HarvardConnection (later renamed ConnectU) along with Harvard University classmate Divya Narendra. In 2004, the Winklevoss brothers sued Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, claiming he stole their ConnectU idea to create the popular social networking site, and ultimately received $65 million.

They are now venture capitalists, and have led a seed funding round for bitcoin payment processor BitInstant. In April 2013, the brothers claimed they owned nearly 1% of all bitcoin in existence at the time.

Early life and education

The Winklevoss twins were born in Southampton, New York, and raised in Greenwich, Connecticut. Their father is Howard Edward Winklevoss, Jr.; Howard was a professor of actuarial science at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is the author of Pension Mathematics with Numerical Illustrations, and founder of Winklevoss Consultants and Winklevoss Technologies.
