Fast food is a type of food that is prepared and served very quickly, first popularized in the 1950s in the United States. While any meal with low preparation time can be considered fast food, typically the term refers to food sold in a restaurant or store with preheated or precooked ingredients, and served to the customer in a packaged form for take-out/take-away. Fast food restaurants are traditionally distinguished by their ability to serve food via a drive-through. The term "fast food" was recognized in a dictionary by Merriam–Webster in 1951.
Outlets may be stands or kiosks, which may provide no shelter or seating, or fast food restaurants (also known as quick service restaurants). Franchise operations that are part of restaurant chains have standardized foodstuffs shipped to each restaurant from central locations.
The concept of ready-cooked food for sale is closely connected with urban development. In Ancient Rome, cities had street stands that sold bread, sausages and wine.
In everyday use and in kinematics, the speed of an object is the magnitude of its velocity (the rate of change of its position); it is thus a scalar quantity. The average speed of an object in an interval of time is the distance travelled by the object divided by the duration of the interval; the instantaneous speed is the limit of the average speed as the duration of the time interval approaches zero.
Like velocity, speed has the dimensions of a length divided by a time; the SI unit of speed is the metre per second, but the most common unit of speed in everyday usage is the kilometre per hour or, in the US and the UK, miles per hour. For air and marine travel the knot is commonly used.

In chemistry a one-pot synthesis is a strategy to improve the efficiency of a chemical reaction whereby a reactant is subjected to successive chemical reactions in just one reactor. This is much desired by chemists because avoiding a lengthy separation process and purification of the intermediate chemical compounds would save time and resources while increasing chemical yield.
An example of a one-pot synthesis is the total synthesis of tropinone or the Gassman indole synthesis. Sequential one-pot syntheses can be used to generate even complex targets with multiple stereocentres, such as oseltamivir, which may significantly shorten the number of steps required overall and have important commercial implications.
A sequential one-pot synthesis with reagents added to a reactor one at a time and without work-up is also called a telescoping synthesis.
In one such procedure the reaction of 3-N-tosylaminophenol I with acrolein II affords a hydroxyl substituted quinoline III through 4 sequential steps without workup of the intermediate products:

We don't always have time or energy to cook dinner every night so I thought I would give this whole meal prep thing a try. In trying to become the pit-master of my own bbq and smoker, I'm always looking for new techniques, ideas and recipes. Some work, some don't. But this one, this one worked! Recipe: -Dry rub 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup salt 1/4 cup paprika 1 Tbs garlic powder 1Tbs onion powder 1 Tbs black pepper 1 tsp lemon zest -Coat chicken breasts with maple syrup and the slather on the rub. -Let stand for 1 hour in the fridge. -Smoke on racks for 1 hr at 225ºF with your favourite wood chips. RECIPE: INGREDIENTS: 1.5 lbs. boneless skinless raw chicken breasts 1 28 ounce can Red Enchilada Sauce (I use El Pato Brand) Add these ingredients at the end: 10 corn tortillas (I used an entire 11.7 ounce bag) 3 cups grated cheddar cheese (divided) 1 3.8 ounce can black olives (divided) SLOW COOKER SIZE: 6-quart INSTRUCTIONS: Put the chicken breasts and the enchilada sauce in your slow cooker. Cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 8 hours. Shred the chicken with 2 forks right in the slow cooker. Cut the tortillas in to strips, add to chicken and sauce. Stir. Add 1 cup of cheese and half the olives into the sauce and chicken mixture. Stir again. Flatten the mixture slightly. Add the rest of the cheese and the olives on top.
