The Mike Sammes Singers - Pick Yourself Up
The UK's most famous and busiest accompanying vocal group during the 1950s and 1960s, the Mike Sammes Singers provided vocal backing on countless hit records - although having only one chart entry in their own right - the 1966 HMV single, 'Somewhere My Love'. Mike himself had come up through the ranks of the George Mitchell Choir and the Coronets vocal group before forming his own group. As backing singers Mike and his group appeared on countless popular hits by stars such as Ken Dodd, Tom Jones, Frank Ifield, Engelbert Humperdinck, Helen Shapiro, Cliff Richard, Anthony Newley and Tommy Steele. Here the Mike Sammes Singers take centre stage for an excellent TV performance of Fred Astaire's timeless classic, 'Pick Yourself Up.

Last of the Summer Wine theme - as sung by Mike Sammes Singers
Here is another version of the theme, this time sung by the Mike Sammes Singers. They also sang the version over the credits of "Getting Sam Home", but this is a completely different arrangement, with a new set of lyrics, that was released on one of their albums.
I've cobbled together some clips of the many wonderful actors which have been in the show (many sadly gone now) to accompany it.
