The Pageant

The Pageant, sometimes called The Pageant Concert NightClub, is a music venue in the Delmar Loop district. It sits on the western edge of Saint Louis, Missouri, just east of the University City part of the Loop.

The Pageant is St. Louis' premier midsize venue, with ample space for the audience and stage room and lighting options for performers. It hosts touring national acts in pop, indie rock, hip-hop, jazz, blues, and more.

In Pollstar magazine's 2014 rankings of the top clubs worldwide in terms of ticket sales, The Pageant was 6th. In 2008, the ranking was 4th.

The venue has a main concert hall; the Halo Bar, a wet bar and smaller stage for smaller performances; and Suite 100, a retail shop that sells concert merchandise. It is one of the area's few handicapped-accessible venues.

Named for a long-demolished movie theatre that sat three blocks to the east on Delmar Boulevard, the Pageant has a facade and marquee whose bright colors and neon lights are designed to evoke a classic movie theater.

Toddlers & Tiaras

Toddlers & Tiaras is an American reality television series that aired on TLC from December 12, 2008 to October 16, 2013. The shows follows the personal lives of families of contestants in a child beauty pageant. Like many shows about children pageants, it generated controversy for dressing the children provocatively. The show led to other reality show spin-offs: Eden's World, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, and Cheer Perfection.

Controversy

The show has generated some negative reactions over the costumes of some of its participants. In an August 2012 custody hearing surrounding a child on the show, a court appointed psychologist said, "Children adorned with pageantry identities are not 'playing' or 'pretending.' Instead, they are trained to closely resemble their adult counterparts." One mother on the show was criticized for padding her daughter's chest to resemble Dolly Parton's and another was criticized for asking her daughter to smoke fake cigarettes on stage.

Kim of Queens is a Lifetime reality TV show about a pageant coach, 1991 Miss Georgia winner Kim Gravel, which follows Gravel, her mother Jo, and her younger sister Allisyn as they train young girls for beauty pageants. It premiered on January 1, 2014.

The show is produced by Relativity Television and Bogner Entertainment for Lifetime TV. Its executive producers are Tom Forman, Brad Bishop, Bryan O’Donnell, Colleen Conway Grogan, Mary Donahue, and Eli Lehrer.

Other producers include Oliver Bogner and Jonathan Bogner, executive producers of the episode "Hillbilly in Heels", and producer Scott Manville.

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa is a 2013 American hidden camera comedy film directed by Jeff Tremaine and written by Tremaine, Spike Jonze and Johnny Knoxville. It is the fourth installment in the Jackass film series. The film stars Johnny Knoxville and Jackson Nicoll. It was produced by MTV Films and Dickhouse Productions and distributed by Paramount Pictures. The film was released on October 25, 2013.Bad Grandpa has a loose plot that connects the stunts and pranks together (in a manner reminiscent of Borat), as opposed to the three original Jackass films which had no plot.

The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling at the 86th Academy Awards, becoming the first installment in the Jackass film series to be nominated for an Oscar. The film was also nominated for a Makeup Artist & Hair Stylist Guild Award, and won the Guild Award for Best Special Makeup Effects in the Feature Film category for 2014.

Plot

Billy is sitting in the waiting room of a law office. His mom comes out to grab him and tell him they're going to see his grandpa. Irving Zisman is sitting in the waiting room of a hospital, checking out a magazine and looking at the sexual images. A nurse comes in to tell Irving that his wife has died. After a brief moment of silence, Irving starts laughing, overjoyed that his wife is dead. Irving leaves the hospital to get himself off, but unfortunately for him, the massage parlor and strip club are closed. Desperate, he sticks his penis in the slot of a vending machine. That's when he gets himself stuck and starts asking onlookers for help.
