Brenton Thwaites

Brenton Thwaites (born 10 August 1989) is an Australian actor who first came to prominence with his portrayal of Luke Gallagher in the Fox8 teen drama series SLiDE (2011), and later Stu Henderson in the soap opera Home and Away (2011–12). Since moving to the United States, Thwaites has headlined films such as Blue Lagoon: The Awakening (2012), Oculus (2013), and The Giver (2014) – the latter, opposite Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep.

Thwaites will next star in Gods of Egypt in 2016, alongside Gerard Butler and his Pirates of the Caribbean co-star Geoffrey Rush. He will play the role of Henry Turner, the son of William Turner, in the 5th installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Dead Men Tell No Tales.

1989–2010: Early life

Thwaites was born on 10 August 1989 in Cairns, Queensland, to Fiona Middleton and Peter Thwaites. He has a sister, Stacey. He underwent secondary education at Cairns State High School in Far North Queensland, graduating as a senior in 2006.

Brenton

Dead Men Tell

Dead Men Tell is a 1941 mystery film starring Sidney Toler, who played Charlie Chan in 22 feature films, beginning with Charlie Chan in Honolulu (1938), and ending with The Trap (1946). The first 11 Charlie Chan films were produced by 20th Century Fox Studios, thereafter sold to Monogram Pictures.

Dead Men Tell was filmed in 1941 at Fox Studios B-unit, 1401 N. Western Ave., Hollywood, CA. Today this property is home to a large shopping center, and DeLuxe Full Spectrum Digital & Film Labs.

Plot

Charlie Chan (Sidney Toler) is engaged by an heir to solve a mystery on a boat. Miss Nodbury (Ethel Griffies) seeks a pirate treasure on Cocos Island, and the ship she uses is an old sailing ship used in the recent past as a museum of pirate lore by one of her relatives. For safety, she has split her map into four pieces, which she gave to some of the passengers whom she has invited to go along with her, but tells no one who they are. When she is given a fright and succumbs to her heart disease Chan must clear up the mystery while the ship is still at the dock.

Kaya Scodelario

Kaya Scodelario-Davis (born Kaya Rose Humphrey; 13 March 1992) is an English actress. She is known for her performance as Effy Stonem in the E4 teen drama Skins and as Teresa Agnes in the Maze Runner film series. She was recently cast as the female lead in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, slated for a 2017 release.

Early life

Scodelario was born in Haywards Heath, West Sussex. Her mother, Katia Scodelario, is Brazilian, and moved to England in 1990 (her surname comes from her Italian grandfather). Her father, Roger Humphrey (died 22 November 2010), was English. Her parents divorced when she was a child and she was brought up by her mother, subsequently adopting her surname and becoming fluent in Portuguese.

Skins

With no prior acting experience, at the age of 14, Scodelario was cast in the 2007 first series of Skins as Effy Stonem. Upon Scodelario's arrival to the auditions she felt she was too young and became discouraged; however, a producer told her to stay and she was asked to read for the part.
