Saskatchewan (i/səˈskætʃəwᵻn/ or /səˈskætʃəˌwɑːn/) is a prairie province in Canada, which has a total area of 651,900 square kilometres (251,700 sq mi) and a land area of 592,534 square kilometres (228,800 sq mi), the remainder being water area (covered by lakes/ponds, reservoirs and rivers). Saskatchewan is bordered on the west by Alberta, on the north by the Northwest Territories, on the east by Manitoba, and on the south by the American states of Montana and North Dakota. As of December 2013, the population of Saskatchewan was estimated at 1,114,170. Residents primarily live in the southern half of the province. Of the total population, 257,300 live in the province's largest city, Saskatoon, while 210,000 live in the provincial capital, Regina. Other major cities include Prince Albert, Moose Jaw, Yorkton, Estevan, Swift Current, and North Battleford.
Saskatchewan is a landlocked province with large distances to moderating bodies of waters. As a result, its climate is extremely continental, rendering severe winters all throughout the province. Southern areas have very warm or hot summers. Midale and Yellow Grass near the U.S. border are tied for the highest ever recorded temperatures in Canada with 45 °C (113 °F) observed at both locations in July 1937. In winter, temperatures below −45 °C (−49 °F) are possible even in the south during extreme cold snaps.
Laura Love (born 1960) is an American singer and bass guitar player.
Love was born Laura Jones in Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1960. She is of African American, Native American, and Caucasian descent. Love had a difficult childhood, raised by a mother with schizophrenia and in foster homes. Her father, who had little involvement in her life, was the jazz musician Preston Love who played the saxophone with Count Basie, Lucky Millinder and Johnny Otis and formed his own band in the 1950s. Love's mother, Wini, had been a singer in Preston's jazz band.
Love began her performing career at age 16, singing for the prisoners at the Nebraska State Penitentiary. Love relocated to Seattle, Washington, where she was a member of the 1980s rock group Boom Boom G.I.(Here's your citation - as a founding member of the group, I can assure you Laura Love was an official member of the band Boom Boom G.I., on top of that, here's a link to the cover photo of the band's second album. Laura is pictured here in white - ). She was also a member of an all-female band, Venus Envy.
Laura may refer to:
This song of mine, Saskatchewan 1939, was inspired by a letter written to me by my uncle, Joe Scott, a letter from which I quote at the beginning of the video. After my family had moved west, I wrote to Joe to ask him what he could remember about the Dirty Thirties. In return I received a 19-page handwritten letter. I count that letter among the treasures of my life. Prairie people, during the Great Depression, pulled together in ways those of us born at a later time could never imagine. My uncle Vern was a farmer who had a farm outside of Caron, where, as a boy, I spent a lot of time in the summers. The musicians on the recording are from the Norwegian psychedelic country band, Poisoned Red Berries. Harald Vaernor is featured on lead guitar, and Tone Stojke plays dobro. Harald Vaernor an...

Traveled up to the middle of Saskatchewan for a duck and goose hunt. Birds were there, and 6 inches of snow. Followed by temps in the teens. Its not normal for it being the beginning of October. Had a tough time getting in the fields for a shoot. Here Rob and I tried a larger pond in the middle of a field and had a decent shoot. Song Daylight, by Yelawolf

Welcome to Saskatchewan! Often known as an incredibly flat province, nothing could be further from the truth. With lush boreal forests and pristine lakes in the North to prairie landscapes and badlands in the South, Saskatchewan is the perfect place for outdoor lovers to explore. We drove a pontoon boat around Lake Waskesiu, learned about the province's first nations at Wanuskewin Heritage Centre, and went for a float in Canada's version of the dead sea. We also toured the RCMP Heritage Centre, witnessed the RCMP sunset ceremony, climbed a massive sand dune, and hiked through one of the few remaining natural grasslands in North America. We packed a lot of adventures into our short visit and can't wait to return one day and explore the province further. We explored Saskatchewan from July...

Hello everyone! Welcome to my new Youtube channel, Canadiana! I thought I would start off with a video showing my beautiful home Saskatchewan. This was a trip my family took this summer to the badlands. We drove through the southern part of the province, stopping in Rouleau, Ogema, Coronach, and Castle Butte. It was such a great adventure and I highly recommend it to anyone. It was so fun for me to see a new and different geographical side of Saskatchewan that I didn't even know existed.
