Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut (pronounced [kəŋɡənaː raːɳoːʈʰ]; born 23 March 1987) is an Indian film actress. She has established a career in Bollywood and is one of the highest-paid actresses in India. Ranaut is particularly known in the media for expressing her honest opinions in public and is frequently credited as one of the most fashionable Indian celebrities. She is the recipient of several awards, including two National Film Awards and Filmfare Awards in four categories.

Born in Bhambla, a small town in Himachal Pradesh, Ranaut initially aspired to become a doctor at the insistence of her parents. Determined to build her own career path, she relocated to Delhi at age sixteen, where she briefly became a model. After training under the theatre director Arvind Gaur, Ranaut made her feature film debut in the 2006 thriller Gangster, for which she was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She received praise for portraying emotionally intense characters in the dramas Woh Lamhe (2006), Life in a... Metro (2007) and Fashion (2008). For the last of these, she won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress and a Filmfare Award in the same category.

Simran

Simran (Punjabi: ਸਿਮਰਨ, Hindi: सिमरण, सिमरन ) is a Punjabi word derived from the Sanskrit word स्मरण (smaraṇa, "the act of remembrance , remembrance, reminiscence, recollection") which leads to the realization of that which is of the highest aspect and purpose in one's life. It is the continuous remembrance of the finest aspect of the self, or the continuous remembrance (or feeling) of God, thus used for introducing spirituality. This state is maintained continuously while carrying out the worldly works outside.

Gurmukhi

Simran is a commonly used term as a verb in Gurmukhi, which refers to 'meditating' of the Nām, the ultimate feeling of Ultimate. Sikhism is a distinct contemporary faith, whereby the Realization of God can be realized purely through the individual devotion, without being succumbed to rites and rituals that has recently become a business of avaricious priests(however such belief could malign the pure search in sikhism ).

It says in the Guru Granth Sahib that through Simran one is purified and attains salvation or 'mukti'. This is because 'si-mar' means 'to die over', thus indicating to death of ego, allowing truth ultimate truth or sat to appear.

Hansal Mehta

Hansal Mehta is an Indian film director, writer, actor and producer. Mehta started his career in television with his show Khana Khazana (1993–2000) and later moved onto movies like …Jayate (1999) and Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar (2000). He is best known for Shahid for which he won the 2013 National Film Award for Best Direction. He then went on to direct City Lights.

Career

Mehta started his career in 1993, by directing with TV cookery show Khana Khazana, hosted by Sanjeev Kapoor on Zee TV, where he worked till 2000. Alongside, Mehta also directed several television series like Amrita (1994), Highway (1995), Yaadein (1995), Lakshya (1998) and many more.

He made his debut as a feature film director with ...Jayate in 1999, a part of the Indian Panorama 1999-2000 at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Hyderabad. This was later followed by Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar!! (2000) based on the issue of migrants in Mumbai. This film, though not a huge box-office success has achieved a cult status for its dark humor and also its twisted exploration of characters and betrayal. Later that year he came up with Chhal (2002) a slick gangster film that met with more praise than his previous films. By his own admission the films post-Chhal were disappointing and his career entered a phase where he flirted with themes that were more mainstream. He made his presence felt with his short film in Dus Kahaniyaan, (2007) starring some of the top actors of Bollywood. In 2008 after the release of Woodstock Villa he went on an extended sabbatical to explore life as a foodie, entrepreneur and to explore themes that mattered to him.

Bhushan Kumar

Bhushan Kumar (born Bhushan Dua Kumar; 27 November 1977) is an Indian film producer and Music producer. He is the Chairman and Managing Director of Super Cassettes Industries Limited, also known as T-Series. He is known for his works in Bollywood. Post the success of Ready, Bhushan Kumar ventured into film production, releasing Nautanki Saala and Aashiqui 2. Bhushan Kumar is also set to have grand release in 2016 with an action movie Airlift (film) starring Akshay Kumar.

Personal life

Bhushan Kumar was born in Delhi to the founder of T-Series, owner Gulshan Kumar and Sudesh Kumari. Kumar married Divya Khosla Kumar in February 2005 at the Maa Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. They have a baby boy named Ruhaan.

Career

Kumar took control of music company T-Series in 1997 after the death of his father Gulshan Kumar. He went on to become the Chairman and Managing Director of this number one music company in India.

As Managing Director, Kumar diversified the company's business into electronics, CDs, audio/video tapes and cassettes, and film production. For this and for popularising Indian music overseas, he was honoured by the Government of India's Electronics and Software Export Promotion Council.

Gulshan Kumar

Gulshan Kumar (5 May 1951 – 12 August 1997) was the founder of the T-Series music label (Super Cassettes Industries Ltd.), and an Indian Bollywood movie producer. T series is now run by his younger brother Krishan Kumar and son Bhushan Kumar. His daughter Tulsi Kumar is a playback singer.

Biography

Gulshan Dua was born into a Punjabi family, he was the son of Chandrabhan , a fruit juice seller in Darya Ganj market in Delhi, where he started working early on. Later Gulshan changed career paths when his family acquired a shop selling records and cheap audio cassettes, this was the beginning of what was to become a vast music empire.

Music business and film career

Gulshan Kumar then started his own audio cassette operation known as “Super Cassettes Industries" , which later turned on to a profitable business for him. he decided to begin a music production company in Noida. As his business started growing he decide to move to Bombay.

His first movie in Bollywood was "Lal Dupatta Malmal Ka" in 1989. Next was the big hit "Aashiqui" in 1990 which is remebered for its music.His other movies included "Bahaar Ane tak" , "Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi" , “Ayee Milan Ki Raat”, “Meera Ka Mohan”, and “Jeena Marna Tere Sang"
