Angel Stadium of Anaheim, originally Anaheim Stadium and later Edison International Field of Anaheim, is a modern-style ballpark located in Anaheim, California, United States. Since it opened in 1966 it has served as the home ballpark of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of Major League Baseball, and was also home to the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL) from 1980 to 1994. The stadium is often referred to by its unofficial nickname The Big A. It is the fourth-oldest active Major League Baseball stadium, behind Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, and Dodger Stadium. It hosted the 1967, 1989, and 2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Games.
Angel Stadium and its surrounding parking lot are roughly bounded by Katella Avenue to the north, the Orange Freeway to the east, Orangewood Avenue to the south, and State College Boulevard to the west. Located near the eastern boundary of the parking lot is the landmark "Big A" sign and electronic marquee, which originally served as a scoreboard support. The halo located near the top of the 230' tall, 210-ton sign is illuminated following games in which the Angels win (both at home and on the road), which gives rise to the fan expression, "Light up the Halo!"
Los Angeles (i/lɒs ˈændʒəlᵻs/ loss AN-jə-ləs or loss AN-jə-liss) (Spanish for "The Angels"), officially the City of Los Angeles and often known by its initials L.A., is the second-largest city in the United States after New York City, the most populous city in the state of California, and the county seat of Los Angeles County.
Situated in Southern California, Los Angeles is known for its mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, sprawling metropolis, and as a major center of the American entertainment industry. Los Angeles lies in a large coastal basin surrounded on three sides by mountains reaching up to and over 10,000 feet (3,000 m).
Historically home to the Chumash and Tongva, Los Angeles was claimed by Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo for Spain in 1542 along with the rest of what would become Alta California. The city was officially founded on September 4, 1781, by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve. It became a part of Mexico in 1821 following the Mexican War of Independence. In 1848, at the end of the Mexican–American War, Los Angeles and the rest of California were purchased as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, thereby becoming part of the United States. Los Angeles was incorporated as a municipality on April 4, 1850, five months before California achieved statehood. The city experienced rapid growth with the discovery of oil.
The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are an American professional baseball team based in Anaheim, California. The Angels compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) West division. The Angels have played home games at Angel Stadium of Anaheim since 1966. The "Angels" name was continued by former film star Gene Autry out of tribute for the Los Angeles Angels, a Minor League franchise in the Pacific Coast League (PCL), which played in South Central Los Angeles from 1903 to 1957. The current Major League franchise was established as an expansion team in 1961 by Autry, the team's first owner, who bought the rights to the Angels name from Walter O'Malley, the former Los Angeles Dodgers owner, who acquired the PCL franchise from Philip K. Wrigley, the owner of the Chicago Cubs at the time.
In 2009, the Angels won the AL West division championship for the third straight season. 2013 was the fourth straight year in which the team did not qualify for the postseason, but marked the 11th straight year in which the Angels franchise drew more than 3 million fans in attendance, and made 30 seasons of at least 2 million fans in attendance.
A stadium (plural stadiums or stadia) is a place or venue for (mostly) outdoor sports, concerts, or other events and consists of a field or stage either partly or completely surrounded by a tiered structure designed to allow spectators to stand or sit and view the event.
Pausanias noted that for about half a century the only event at the ancient Greek Olympic festival was the race that comprised one length of the stade at Olympia, where the word "stadium" originated.
"Stadium" is the Latin form of the Greek word "stadion" (στάδιον), a measure of length equalling the length of 600 human feet. As feet are of variable length the exact length of a stadion depends on the exact length adopted for 1 foot at a given place and time. Although in modern terms 1 stadion = 600 ft (180 m), in a given historical context it may actually signify a length up to 15% larger or smaller.
The equivalent Roman measure, the stadium, had a similar length — about 185 m (607 ft) - but instead of being defined in feet was defined using the Roman standard passus to be a distance of 125 passūs (double-paces).
An angel is a purely spiritual being found in various religions and mythologies. In Abrahamic religions and Zoroastrianism, angels are often depicted as benevolent celestial beings who act as intermediaries between God or Heaven and Earth, or as guardian spirits or a guiding influence. Other roles of angels include protecting and guiding human beings, and carrying out God's tasks. The term "angel" has also been diversed to various notions of spirits or figures found in many other religious traditions. The theological study of angels is known as "angelology".
In art, angels are often depicted with bird-like wings on their back, a halo, robes and various forms of glowing light.
The word angel (pronounced /ˈeɪn.dʒəl/) in English is a blend of Old English engel (with a hard g) and Old French angele. Both derive from Late Latin angelus "messenger", which in turn was borrowed from Late Greek ἄνγελος ángelos. According to R. S. P. Beekes, ángelos itself may be "an Oriental loan, like ἄγγαρος ['Persian mounted courier']." The word's earliest form is Mycenaean a-ke-ro attested in Linear B syllabic script.
The Angels and Astros are very friendly teams. This video shows a bunch of my interactions with the players and coaches, along with some BP action and a close call during the game. Here's my tweet about the contest for the ball signed by Dallas Keuchel: https://twitter.com/zack_hample/status/795793050052292608 The contest will end on Thursday, November 10 at 7pm ET. FYI, this game took place on September 30, 2016, and the video was filmed and edited by Brandon Sloter. Thanks for watching and please subscribe.

Angel Stadium is one of the toughest places to catch baseballs, and when you watch this video (filmed on June 15, 2016), you’ll understand why. That said, I still managed to snag a few and meet some cool people along the way. For the 2nd straight day, Albert Pujols was going for his 600th career home run, and I was there. This video shows what it was like out in left field during his at-bats. Of course there were baseballs to be snagged before the game during batting practice, and there were other highlights too. (Cow-milking competition, anyone?) Thanks for watching and don't forget to hit that "subscribe" button.
Enjoy a short tour inside "The Big A" Angel Stadium of Anaheim, home of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim baseball organization. Opened in 1966, Angel Stadium is currently the 4th oldest stadium in Major League Baseball and there is tons of neat history behind the facility.
Albert Pujols started the day with 599 career home runs . . . and unfortunately finished there, but it was still exciting just to be at Angel Stadium for all the hoopla. I also had lots of fun before the game. The Twins were great during batting practice and hit lots of home runs into the seats, so even though Albert didn't deliver a milestone home run, this video is action-packed. Thanks for watching/subscribing and thanks to Brandon Sloter for filming/editing. Lots more videos coming soon!

2012 MLB Opening Day (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) Angel Stadium - Anaheim, CA Friday April 6, 2012 I shot this video with my old camera: Sony SR11. I used it from 2008 - 2010. I couldn't bring my new one into the stadium because it's too large. In this video: You will here David Cook sing the National Anthem. You'll also see a C-17 Globemaster almost silence a crowd of over 42,000 people at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Southern California.

Anaheim is a city outside Los Angeles, in Southern California. It's home to the Disneyland Resort, a massive complex of family-friendly, Disney-themed rides, restaurants, hotels and shops. The city's also home to pro sports teams. The Honda Center is the indoor arena where the Anaheim Ducks hockey team plays, and Angel Stadium is the home field of the Los Angeles Angels baseball team.
I took this maily for my son, who's obssesed with trains. I took this during the 2010 MLB All-Star Game.
This was a once in a life time thing for us. When can you safely project a laser animation in the stadium seats? Obviously, when nobody is in them. Which was the case when several tribes of YMCA Indian Guides got together for a weekend Pow Wow at Angel Stadium. As part of the festivities, we flew a laser eagle around the stadium and had it land on the onstage screen. What a night!
