Presenting the new Sainsbury’s Christmas Advert – a joyous Christmas musical created in stop frame animation featuring vocals by James Corden. It tells the story of Dave, a hard-working and devoted Dad, who realises that the greatest gift he can give people this Christmas is his time.
As the first snow falls, we find our hero Dave caught up in the Christmas whirlwind – all he wants to do is to get home to spend time with his family, but all sorts of Christmas duties and calamities are getting in his way. That is until he sees a gingerbread man on his daughter’s bedside table that they’ve made to look like him. That gives him a genius brainwave…
This year, we’ve worked in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital to help families be together. Over 50% of children treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital are from outside of London, so we’re raising money to fund accommodation that means patients’ families can stay close by in difficult times.

This year’s Christmas ad from Sainsbury’s – Christmas is for sharing. Made in partnership with The Royal British Legion, it commemorates the extraordinary events of Christmas Day, 1914, when the guns fell silent and two armies met in no-man’s land, sharing gifts – and even playing football together.
The chocolate bar featured in the ad is on sale now at Sainsbury’s. All profits (50p per bar) will go to The Royal British Legion and will benefit our armed forces and their families, past and present.

When I woke up this morning

How cold was it?
It was a freezing, sneezing

Cold refers to the condition or subjective perception of having low temperature, the absence of heat.
A lower bound to temperature is absolute zero, defined as 0 K on the Kelvin scale, an absolute thermodynamic temperature scale. This corresponds to −273.15 °C on the Celsius scale, −459.67 °F on the Fahrenheit scale, and 0 °R on the Rankine scale.
Since temperature relates to the thermal energy held by an object or a sample of matter, which is the kinetic energy of the random motion of the particle constituents of matter, an object will have less thermal energy when it is colder and more when it is hotter. If it were possible to cool a system to absolute zero, all motion of the particles in a sample of matter would cease and they would be at complete rest in this classical sense. The object would be described as having zero thermal energy. Microscopically in the description of quantum mechanics, however, matter still has zero-point energy even at absolute zero, because of the uncertainty principle.

Christmas

The Royal British Legion
The Royal British Legion (RBL), sometimes referred to as the The British Legion or The Legion, is a British charity providing financial, social and emotional support to members and veterans of the British Armed Forces, their families and dependants.
Membership
Service in the military is no longer a requirement of Legion membership. The Legion has an official membership magazine, Legion, which is free to all Legion members as part of their annual subscription.
History
The British Legion was founded in 1921 as a voice for the ex-service community as a merger of four organisations: the Comrades of the Great War, the National Association of Discharged Sailors and Soldiers, the National Federation of Discharged and Demobilized Sailors and Soldiers and the Officers' Association. It was granted a Royal Charter on 29 May 1971 to mark its fiftieth anniversary which gives the Legion the privilege of the prefix 'Royal'.
Earl Haig, British commander at the Battle of the Somme and Passchendaele was one of the founders of the Legion and the President until his death.

The Royal
The Royal is a British medical drama series produced by ITV that ran from 2003 to 2011. The show comprised one-hour episodes which were normally first aired on ITV in the Sunday early evening slot.
The title of the series refers to the fictional "St Aidan's Royal Free Hospital", located in Elsinby, a fictional rural seaside town, portrayed as being close to Aidensfield, the fictional setting of the UK TV series Heartbeat. The series was shot in Whitby and Scarborough, in the North Riding of Yorkshire. The Royal is an NHS hospital serving the local town, countryside and visitors. The show was set in the 1960s. It began as a spin-off from another popular ITV show set in North Yorkshire, Heartbeat.
Stars of the show included Ian Carmichael, Wendy Craig, Robert Daws, and Amy Robbins. The last episode of the show aired at 7.00 pm on Sunday, 31 July 2011 on ITV.
Overview
The Royal was introduced in the 14th episode of the 12th series of Heartbeat entitled 'Out Of The Blue' and The Royal benefited from this connection to the extremely popular parent series; several Heartbeat characters appeared in the first couple of series of The Royal, most notably Bill Maynard as a bed-ridden Claude Greengrass, but as the series progressed it generally dropped its character crossovers with Heartbeat to become its own entity.

In this episode of Experience Points, Mat and Tom walkthrough developing a character for roleplay sessions. Creating a believable name, giving the character a three-dimensional backstory, drawing the character and voicing the character. Hopefully this will help new and even established roleplayers as they head down the rabbithole of tabletop RPG playing.

Billy Blake backstory:
William Blake was born on a cold dark stormy night on the outskirts of Irontown, his mother was a Demimondaine (woman of the night) and he never knew who his father was. His upbringing was poor as his mother would often get into bar fights at the tavern she “serviced”. William’s younger brother, “Benedict (Benni)” looked up to William who practically raised Benni, when William was 14 his mother sold him to the army where he was beaten, conditioned and trained before spending 20 years in service as an infantrymen.
Whilst William was in service with the army, he was posted to Copperplate pass, where bandits had taken up fort there and were killing people in their hundreds, during the war William was kidnapped and tortured by a small group of bandits who cut off his arm when he refused to give up information. Upon cutting his arm off, William was able to free himself and he beat the three bandits to death with his own severed arm and made his escape before collapsing in the desert. Upon awaking, he found himself in a hospital bed with a new bionic arm, courtesy of “the council” and given an honorable discharge from service.
When William returned to Irontown he found the town was extremely different to what it once was, he hated the smell and the sight of everyone. His brother Benni had become a drunk and Williams mother had passed away of Yellow-Fever. William took up to being a gun-for-hire and was quickly hired to kill the local sheriff, which he carried out, no questions asked. William was not paid for the job and tracked down his employer, who turned out to be his brother Benni who owned the Sheriff a lot of money. When Benni refused to pay William, William crushed benni’s windpipe with his bionic arm before slumping in the corner and weeping.
William was arrested for the murder of his brother and was told he faced the noose or exile from Irontown, he chose the latter and left before sunrise.
After a few years of wandering the desert holding up passers-by, Billy began to work under a preceptor unknowingly and was told he was collecting the bounties from local Warlords. After a lucrative 5 months, Billy discovered that he was under the memetic influence of the preceptor and those which he’d killed were in fact children. As William was snapped from the memetic probe which shackled him, he wept one solitary tear, as he had flashbacks of slaying innocent children, he raised his revolver and blew the preceptors head clean off, looking in his satchel Billy saw that the “tokens” which he’d earned under the preceptor were in fact just pieces of old tattered paper. Billy set the old paper alight with his cigar and threw the fire onto the preceptor. Turning around, Billy walked into the sunset towards a group of shadowy figures on the horizon.

In this episode of Experience Points, Mat and Tom walkthrough developing a character for roleplay sessions. Creating a believable name, giving the character a three-dimensional backstory, drawing the character and voicing the character. Hopefully this will help new and even established roleplayers as they head down the rabbithole of tabletop RPG playing.

Billy Blake backstory:
William Blake was born on a cold dark stormy night on the outskirts of Irontown, his mother was a Demimondaine (woman of the night) and he never knew who his father was. His upbringing was poor as his mother would often get into bar fights at the tavern she “serviced”. William’s younger brother, “Benedict (Benni)” looked up to William who practically raised Benni, when William was 14 his mother sold him to the army where he was beaten, conditioned and trained before spending 20 years in service as an infantrymen.
Whilst William was in service with the army, he was posted to Copperplate pass, where bandits had taken up fort there and were killing people in their hundreds, during the war William was kidnapped and tortured by a small group of bandits who cut off his arm when he refused to give up information. Upon cutting his arm off, William was able to free himself and he beat the three bandits to death with his own severed arm and made his escape before collapsing in the desert. Upon awaking, he found himself in a hospital bed with a new bionic arm, courtesy of “the council” and given an honorable discharge from service.
When William returned to Irontown he found the town was extremely different to what it once was, he hated the smell and the sight of everyone. His brother Benni had become a drunk and Williams mother had passed away of Yellow-Fever. William took up to being a gun-for-hire and was quickly hired to kill the local sheriff, which he carried out, no questions asked. William was not paid for the job and tracked down his employer, who turned out to be his brother Benni who owned the Sheriff a lot of money. When Benni refused to pay William, William crushed benni’s windpipe with his bionic arm before slumping in the corner and weeping.
William was arrested for the murder of his brother and was told he faced the noose or exile from Irontown, he chose the latter and left before sunrise.
After a few years of wandering the desert holding up passers-by, Billy began to work under a preceptor unknowingly and was told he was collecting the bounties from local Warlords. After a lucrative 5 months, Billy discovered that he was under the memetic influence of the preceptor and those which he’d killed were in fact children. As William was snapped from the memetic probe which shackled him, he wept one solitary tear, as he had flashbacks of slaying innocent children, he raised his revolver and blew the preceptors head clean off, looking in his satchel Billy saw that the “tokens” which he’d earned under the preceptor were in fact just pieces of old tattered paper. Billy set the old paper alight with his cigar and threw the fire onto the preceptor. Turning around, Billy walked into the sunset towards a group of shadowy figures on the horizon.

I played the game (default/green ROMs) through to Wave 256 to the game restart at Wave 1. It's part of my personal training to get some stamina and calluses back in order to play 30/99 settings and 99/99 settings again effectively. It was also a test for my all-original machine, which you will see was feeling the strain towards the end!
The complete feat took over 4 hours and there are two purposes of this video collection:
#1 - a cure for severe insomnia (especially if you listen to my incredibly boring commentary)
#2 - to serve as a tutorial for novice/good players and prove that even if you were born in the mid-sixties, you can still rock up and go WHANG! if you practice enough!
Be warned though, the gameplay is very run-of-the-mill and workmanlike. I played the game (default/green ROMs) through to Wave 256 to the game restart at Wave 1. It's part of my personal training to get some stamina and calluses back in order to play 30/99 settings and 99/99 settings again effectively. It was also a test for my all-original machine, which you will see was feeling the strain towards the end!
The complete feat took over 4 hours and there are two purposes of this video collection:
#1 - a cure for severe insomnia (especially if you listen to my incredibly boring commentary)
#2 - to serve as a tutorial for novice/good players and prove that even if you were born in the mid-sixties, you can still rock up and go WHANG! if you practice enough!
