Nawal

Nawal is a musician from Comoros. Her music draws on traditional Comorian influences and incorporates sounds from African and Arabic culture. She plays many instruments, including the guitar and qanbūs. She sings in Comorian, Arabic, French and English.

Today known as the "Voice of Comoros", Nawal is one of the first women from her country to take the international stage as a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Nawal has self-produced both her albums, and has toured in Europe, Africa, North America, the Middle East and Central Asia. Her home is currently in Paris, France. She will release her third album most likely next year and it will be a "whole, new horizon"

Nawal Al Zoghbi

Nawal Al Zoghbi (born June 29, 1972 in Jal El-Dib, Lebanon) is a Lebanese pop vocalist. Performing in Arabic, she has a fan base throughout the Arab world has a following amongst Arab expatriates in North America and Europe. Her musical career has spanned over 25 years.

She achieved popularity first by singing traditional Arabic music with a pop sensibility, and later singing in the Gulf dialect, and also embracing newer trends in Arabian music. She capitalised on the popularity of music videos in Arab pop music in the '90s, which propelled her to local stardom in the Arab world.

Biography

Nawal George Al Zoghbi is a Lebanese singer. Born to a Maronite Christian family in the coastal small town of Jal El-Dib, she holds Canadian citizenship. Al Zoghbi is the oldest born among three brothers and one sister. Al Zoghbi began singing at an early age, despite familial opposition to the lifestyle of a musician. Members of her family changed their minds when they realized she was serious in her ambitions. In 1988 she participated in the Lebanese talent show Studio El Fan. In 1990 she married Lebanese music manager Elie Deeb and went on to have three children with him. The couple legally separated in 2008 and Al Zoghbi waited three years for the Maronite Church to recognize their divorce. In late 2009, Al Zoghbi was granted custody of her three children and in March 2011, her divorce was officially legalized.

Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.

Even though he doubts its ethical consequences, his use of the drug is an act that mirrors his own deep denial... Doctor Shemesh is given permission to use the drug by David's father, Henry Adler, a Holocaust survivor who spent a short time in Israel before becoming one of the most pre-eminent musicians in America. Henry, who has the arrogance of Oedipus and faith in the rational overcoming of trauma via action, doesn't understand why his son has been hospitalized. But Henry's lust for life and his desire for normality make him live in denial of the past, which is unbearable for David, whose restless soul seeks the truth. Henry will confront a horror beyond all horrors when the truth reveals itself. A blind patient in the hospital named Muselmann, also a Holocaust survivor, tells David to listen to the ghosts that are haunting him, that they have something important to tell him. Like the blind prophet Tiresias, Muselmann knows that the truth does not hold redemption, and this is why he never tried to reconstruct his life after the camps. Because he lives between the world of the dead and the living, Muselmann can act as a conduit between the murdered ghosts and David. The flashbacks and flashforwards from the mental institute reveal, with the story of David's life, the story of the eternal return of the trauma and a destiny that seems unalterable...
