Scott Wright I am writing a response to the suggested questions, and including links to a few videos you may want to share about me and my journey. Thank You for allowing me to take part in this wonderful project. Let me know if you would like me to include anything else. Scott Wright Natural Recall interview 1. What do you do every day to express your elective affinity with nature, with the plants on your balcony, with the flowers that grow in your terrace or the trees in your garden? My personal connection to Nature has been transformational in my life. I didn’t always pay attention the way I do now. As I started to walk a pathway of enlightenment almost 6 years ago, I began to realize how real our connection to Nature, and all Creation truly is. The Sunflower has been a big part of that, 3 years ago I began a garden centered around the Symbolism and Light of the Sunflower. As a photographer, I tried to capture not just photos, but the essence and feeling that I had as I grew them and spent time with them. Each morning now, I spend time meditating and just being in the moment in a large circle of Sunflowers I have planted. I planted it for just that purpose, as a refuge and sacred space. The moments of “Being” I have had there, have opened my path even further, and allowed me to see more clearly the work I am to do to bring others to understand what I have experienced. It’s a Journey not a destination, but one that is there for us All. 2. What is the plant that you like the most? Why you feel so attached to it? While I feel a deep connection to all of Nature in general, the Sunflower, and it’s symbolism of following the Light, is where I have found my deepest connection. I observe them throughout their life cycle, I harvest their petals, roots, and buds to include in smudge sticks that I make, and I also make walking sticks out of the larger stalks. Until you see and hold one in your hand, you can’t understand how wonderful they are, and what positive energy they possess. 3. You're leaving to a desert island and you can only take with you two things ... and a plant. What would you put in your suitcase? Scott Wright In 2011, Scott Wright prepared to celebrate his 50th birthday. Reflecting upon his life, he knew he was ready for a new chapter and that his personal journey would no longer require packing, but would require deliberate opening. With a passion and reverence for the outdoors, Scott often turned to Mother Nature when needing refuge from the demands, challenges and heartaches of life. A self proclaimed, pay attentioner, Scott has a deep connection to nature and loves capturing her beauty through the lens of his camera. A month before his milestone birthday, Scott decided to pursue a forum to share his photography and created a Facebook page simply entitled, Scott Wright Photography. His intention was not about selling photography, but rather creating a community to inspire others by sharing the moments and feelings he experiences when capturing the beauty in the world around us. Photography has been a transformational influence in his life – a guiding force from dark to light. From the very beginning, Scott acknowledged that God was the true artist providing the spectacular images – his role was simply showing up to capture it and generously passing it along to the world. The Scott Wright Photography community grew as fans engaged in conversations with Scott about his photos ~ their location, his feelings and insights and their emotions as they looked at each image and experienced the beauty. Fans began suggesting names for many of Scott’s inspiring photos and showed up every day to see what Scott and his camera had captured. As he continues to inspire his fans, they in turn inspire his passion and purpose. Scott’s perspective on life began to align with a deeper sense of self and he soon welcomed other unexpected changes that he had not imagined possible. After being single for over 10 years, he became engaged to his newly discovered sweetheart and they married on the fall equinox in 2012. And in December 2012, Scott left a long and successful career in mortage lending to pursue his photography passion full-time.
