7: The Mississippi Civil Rights Workers' Murders
In 1964, while Mississippi was heavily segregated, two civil rights workers, 24-year-old Michael Schwerner and 20-year-old Andrew Goodman, travelled from New York to help organize civil rights efforts, along with 20-year-old local African American James Chaney. They were working on behalf of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE). When he arrived in Mississippi in January, Michael Schwerner organized a black boycott of a variety store in the city of Meridian, and afterwards fought for voting registration for African Americans. His acts aroused the interest of the Imperial Wizard of the White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan of Mississippi, Sam Bowers, who sent word for Schwerner to be eliminated. On the evening of June 16th, two dozen armed KKK members attacked the African American Mt. On the evening of March 21st, 1981, nineteen-year-old African American Michael Donald was walking home, in Mobile Alabama. He was then lynched, and his body was hanged from a tree, in the pattern of mob lynchings. Michael Donald had previously been trialed with the murder of a cop, but the jury was unable to reach a verdict. Ku Klux Klan members were left upset, because they believed that the case remained unsolved because some members of the jury were African American. After the trial, the KKK held a meeting. 1: The Greensboro Massacre
On November 3rd, 1979, approximately 100 people gathered on the streets of Greensboro, North Carolina. Members of the Communist Worker’s Party, along with other people, protested against the Ku Klux Klan, chanting “Death to the Klan” and challenging the Klansmen to a confrontation. For 150 years the Ku Klux Klan has existed in the shadows, terrifying outsiders with its reputation for violence and racism.
For the first time, key leaders of today's largest surviving KKK organizations reveal their true identities and grant access into their homes, charity events, secret meetings, sacred rituals, including a cross-lighting ceremony.
These events and interviews open a door on previously secretive organizations that only reluctantly open up to cameras.
It's an eye-opening journey beyond the robe and beneath the hood of today's KKK.

In the middle of 1920, Isaac Ochberg, a South African businessman of Russian extraction, started a fund raising drive to save at least a few of the Jewish orphans of Russia.
By early 1921 he had gathered together £10,000 (the equivalent of Two Million Dollars at today’s prices) and he set off from Cape Town on his dangerous mission. His task: to rescue as many Jewish orphans as he could in what we now know as Poland, Belarus and the Ukraine. For 2 months he travelled by wagon, train, car and foot around this stricken region doing deals to collect children. While the spine of the film is the story of Ochberg’s rescue of the children, we also find out the forgotten history of the genocidal attacks on Jews, known as Pogroms from first hand accounts.

A GROUP of Ku Klux Klan members says it is planning military style combat training for the FIRST time in KKK history - exactly 60 years after the birth of the African-American Civil Rights Movement. Klan bosses say an influx of military troops - existing members and new KKK recruits - will return to the US from overseas campaigns in a matter of weeks and plan to train the Loyal White Knights (LWK) faction, which has Klan members made up of men, women and children across at least three states. LWK leaders say they are preparing for a race war they believe will break out soon with the collapse of modern society, and will learn armed combat, hand-to-hand combat and survival skills. The controversial organisation is also targeting kids as part of a modern recruitment drive. Unlike members of the 20th century, today's KKK use social media and the internet alongside traditional methods like nighttime leaflet drops in local neighbourhoods to attract new members, including 13-17 year olds. These exclusive images show a recent KKK rally held at a secret location in a forest near Parkersburg, West Virginia. KKK expert Brian Levin says the main danger from the modern KKK doesn't come from the group forming an army, but from individual splinter groups with desperate new leaders trying to make a name for themselves. He said they can draw inspiration from extremist acts like a recent massacre in a Jewish Community Center in Kansas. Frazer Glenn Miller Jr., a former Klan faction leader, was arrested and charged in April with killing three people in the shootings, a 14-year-old boy with his grandfather and a woman.

Ku Klux Klan
The Ku Klux Klan (KKK), or simply "the Klan", is the name of three distinct past and present movements in the United States that have advocated extremist reactionary currents such as white supremacy, white nationalism, and anti-immigration, historically expressed through terrorism aimed at groups or individuals whom they opposed. All three movements have called for the "purification" of American society, and all are considered right wing extremist organizations.
The first Ku Klux Klan flourished in the Southern United States in the late 1860s, then died out by the early 1870s. It sought to overthrow the Republican state governments in the South during the Reconstruction Era, especially by using violence against African American leaders. With numerous chapters across the South, it was suppressed around 1871, through federal enforcement. Members made their own, often colorful, costumes: robes, masks, and conical hats, designed to be terrifying, and to hide their identities.

African Americans
African Americans (also referred to as Black Americans or Afro-Americans) are an ethnic group of Americans (citizens or residents of the United States) with total or partial ancestry from any of the Black racial groups of Africa. The term may also be used to include only those individuals who are descended from enslaved Africans. As a compound adjective the term is usually hyphenated as African-American.
African Americans constitute the third largest racial and ethnic group in the United States (after White Americans and Hispanic and Latino Americans). Most African Americans are of West and Central African descent and are descendants of enslaved blacks within the boundaries of the present United States. On average, African Americans are of 78 percent West African, 19 percent European and 3 percent Native American heritage, with very large variation between individuals. Immigrants from some African, Caribbean, Central American, and South American nations and their descendants may or may not also self-identify with the term.

Michael Donald
Michael Donald (July 24, 1961 – March 21, 1981) was a young African-American man who was murdered in 1981 in Mobile, Alabama, by two Ku Klux Klan members. The arbitrary murder is sometimes referred to as the last recorded lynching in the United States because his two attackers hung his body from a tree, in the pattern of mob lynchings.
The prosecution of Donald's murder in both criminal and civil trials resulted in notable convictions and sentences. His two attackers were convicted of murder; one was sentenced to death and executed in 1997, and the younger man sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty and testifying against his partner. This was the first execution in Alabama since 1913 for a white-on-black crime. In addition, Hays was the only known KKK member to be executed during the 20th century for the murder of an African American. A third man was convicted as an accomplice, and a fourth indicted but he died before his case could be completed at trial. In the same time period, Donald's mother brought a civil suit for wrongful death against the United Klans of America, to which the attackers belonged. In 1987 the jury found the UKA guilty and awarded damages of $7 million, which bankrupted that organization. This case set a precedent in the United States for legal action against other racist groups.

The KKK members 3: The lynching of Michael Donald On the evening of March 21st, 1981, nineteen-year-old African American Michael Donald was walking home, in Mobile Alabama. He was forced into a car by two other individuals, Ku Klux Klan members Henry Hays and James Knowles, who had been hunting him for allegedly killing a white policeman. He was then lynched, and his body was hanged from a tree, in the pattern of mob lynchings. Michael Donald had previously been trialed with the murder of a cop, but the jury was unable to reach a verdict. Ku Klux Klan members were left upset, because they believed that the case remained unsolved because some members of the jury were African American. After the trial, the KKK held a meeting. Henry Hays said “If a black man can get away with killing a white man, we ought to be able to get away with killing a black man”, and then proceeded to follow Michael Donald along with James Knowles 1: The Greensboro Massacre On November 3rd, 1979, approximately 100 people gathered on the streets of Greensboro, North Carolina. Members of the Communist Worker’s Party, along with other people, protested against the Ku Klux Klan, chanting “Death to the Klan” and challenging the Klansmen to a confrontation. Other similar demonstrations against the white supremacist group had previously taken place that year, so the civil-rights battles had started to get seriously heated by that time. By early 1921 he had gathered together £10,000 (the equivalent of Two Million Dollars at today’s prices) and he set off from Cape Town on his dangerous mission. His task: to rescue as many Jewish orphans as he could in what we now know as Poland, Belarus and the Ukraine. For 2 months he travelled by wagon, train, car and foot around this stricken region doing deals to collect children. While the spine of the film is the story of Ochberg’s rescue of the children, we also find out the forgotten history of the genocidal attacks on Jews, known as Pogroms from first hand accounts. Klan bosses say an influx of military troops - existing members and new KKK recruits - will return to the US from overseas campaigns in a matter of weeks and plan to train the Loyal White Knights (LWK) faction, which has Klan members made up of men, women and children across at least three states. LWK leaders say they are preparing for a race war they believe will break out soon with the collapse of modern society, and will learn armed combat, hand-to-hand combat and survival skills. The controversial organisation is also targeting kids as part of a modern recruitment drive. Unlike members of the 20th century, today's KKK use social media and the internet alongside traditional methods like nighttime leaflet drops in local neighbourhoods to attract new members, including 13-17 year olds. These exclusive images show a recent KKK rally held at a secret location in a forest near Parkersburg, West Virginia. KKK expert Brian Levin says the main danger from the modern KKK doesn't come from the group forming an army, but from individual splinter groups with desperate new leaders trying to make a name for themselves. He said they can draw inspiration from extremist acts like a recent massacre in a Jewish Community Center in Kansas. Frazer Glenn Miller Jr., a former Klan faction leader, was arrested and charged in April with killing three people in the shootings, a 14-year-old boy with his grandfather and a woman. On the evening of March 21st, 1981, nineteen-year-old African American Michael Donald was walking home, in Mobile Alabama. He was forced into a car by two other individuals, Ku Klux Klan members Henry Hays and James Knowles, who had been hunting him for allegedly killing a white policeman. He was then lynched, and his body was hanged from a tree, in the pattern of mob lynchings. Michael Donald had previously been trialed with the murder of a cop, but the jury was unable to reach a verdict. Ku Klux Klan members were left upset, because they believed that the case remained unsolved because some members of the jury were African American. After the trial, the KKK held a meeting. Henry Hays said “If a black man can get away with killing a white man, we ought to be able to get away with killing a black man”, and then proceeded to follow Michael Donald along with James Knowles

Members of the Communist Worker’s Party, along with other people, protested against the Ku Klux Klan, chanting “Death to the Klan” and challenging the Klansmen to a confrontation. 7: The Mississippi Civil Rights Workers' Murders
In 1964, while Mississippi was heavily segregated, two civil rights workers, 24-year-old Michael Schwerner and 20-year-old Andrew Goodman, travelled from New York to help organize civil rights efforts, along with 20-year-old local African American James Chaney. They were working on behalf of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE). When he arrived in Mississippi in January, Michael Schwerner organized a black boycott of a variety store in the city of Meridian, and afterwards fought for voting registration for African Americans. His acts aroused the interest of the Imperial Wizard of the White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan of Mississippi, Sam Bowers, who sent word for Schwerner to be eliminated. On the evening of June 16th, two dozen armed KKK members attacked the African American Mt. For the first time, key leaders of today's largest surviving KKK organizations reveal their true identities and grant access into their homes, charity events, secret meetings, sacred rituals, including a cross-lighting ceremony.
These events and interviews open a door on previously secretive organizations that only reluctantly open up to cameras.
It's an eye-opening journey beyond the robe and beneath the hood of today's KKK.

In the middle of 1920, Isaac Ochberg, a South African businessman of Russian extraction, started a fund raising drive to save at least a few of the Jewish orphans of Russia.
By early 1921 he had gathered together £10,000 (the equivalent of Two Million Dollars at today’s prices) and he set off from Cape Town on his dangerous mission. His task: to rescue as many Jewish orphans as he could in what we now know as Poland, Belarus and the Ukraine. For 2 months he travelled by wagon, train, car and foot around this stricken region doing deals to collect children. While the spine of the film is the story of Ochberg’s rescue of the children, we also find out the forgotten history of the genocidal attacks on Jews, known as Pogroms from first hand accounts.

A GROUP of Ku Klux Klan members says it is planning military style combat training for the FIRST time in KKK history - exactly 60 years after the birth of the African-American Civil Rights Movement. Klan bosses say an influx of military troops - existing members and new KKK recruits - will return to the US from overseas campaigns in a matter of weeks and plan to train the Loyal White Knights (LWK) faction, which has Klan members made up of men, women and children across at least three states. LWK leaders say they are preparing for a race war they believe will break out soon with the collapse of modern society, and will learn armed combat, hand-to-hand combat and survival skills. The controversial organisation is also targeting kids as part of a modern recruitment drive. Unlike members of the 20th century, today's KKK use social media and the internet alongside traditional methods like nighttime leaflet drops in local neighbourhoods to attract new members, including 13-17 year olds. These exclusive images show a recent KKK rally held at a secret location in a forest near Parkersburg, West Virginia. KKK expert Brian Levin says the main danger from the modern KKK doesn't come from the group forming an army, but from individual splinter groups with desperate new leaders trying to make a name for themselves. He said they can draw inspiration from extremist acts like a recent massacre in a Jewish Community Center in Kansas. Frazer Glenn Miller Jr., a former Klan faction leader, was arrested and charged in April with killing three people in the shootings, a 14-year-old boy with his grandfather and a woman.

7: The Mississippi Civil Rights Workers' Murders
In 1964, while Mississippi was heavily segregated, two civil rights workers, 24-year-old Michael Schwerner and 20-year-old Andrew Goodman, travelled from New York to help organize civil rights efforts, along with 20-year-old local African American James Chaney. They were working on behalf of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE). When he arrived in Mississippi in January, Michael Schwerner organized a black boycott of a variety store in the city of Meridian, and afterwards fought for voting registration for African Americans. His acts aroused the interest of the Imperial Wizard of the White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan of Mississippi, Sam Bowers, who sent word for Schwerner to be eliminated. On the evening of June 16th, two dozen armed KKK members attacked the African American Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Neshoba County, that Schwerner had previously arranged to use as a “Freedom School”. Although he wasn’t at church at that time, the Klansmen

On the evening of March 21st, 1981, nineteen-year-old African American Michael Donald was walking home, in Mobile Alabama. He was forced into a car by two other individuals, Ku Klux Klan members Henry Hays and James Knowles, who had been hunting him for allegedly killing a white policeman. He was then lynched, and his body was hanged from a tree, in the pattern of mob lynchings. Michael Donald had previously been trialed with the murder of a cop, but the jury was unable to reach a verdict. Ku Klux Klan members were left upset, because they believed that the case remained unsolved because some members of the jury were African American. After the trial, the KKK held a meeting. Henry Hays said “If a black man can get away with killing a white man, we ought to be able to get away with killing a black man”, and then proceeded to follow Michael Donald along with James Knowles

On November 3rd, 1979, approximately 100 people gathered on the streets of Greensboro, North Carolina. Members of the Communist Worker’s Party, along with other people, protested against the Ku Klux Klan, chanting “Death to the Klan” and challenging the Klansmen to a confrontation. Other similar demonstrations against the white supremacist group had previously taken place that year, so the civil-rights battles had started to get seriously heated by that time. In the middle of 1920, Isaac Ochberg, a South African businessman of Russian extraction, started a fund raising drive to save at least a few of the Jewish orphans of Russia.
By early 1921 he had gathered together £10,000 (the equivalent of Two Million Dollars at today’s prices) and he set off from Cape Town on his dangerous mission. His task: to rescue as many Jewish orphans as he could in what we now know as Poland, Belarus and the Ukraine. For 2 months he travelled by wagon, train, car and foot around this stricken region doing deals to collect children. While the spine of the film is the story of Ochberg’s rescue of the children, we also find out the forgotten history of the genocidal attacks on Jews, known as Pogroms from first hand accounts.

A GROUP of Ku Klux Klan members says it is planning military style combat training for the FIRST time in KKK history - exactly 60 years after the birth of the African-American Civil Rights Movement. Klan bosses say an influx of military troops - existing members and new KKK recruits - will return to the US from overseas campaigns in a matter of weeks and plan to train the Loyal White Knights (LWK) faction, which has Klan members made up of men, women and children across at least three states.
