Mini Switzerland.
On 07-07-1992, Mr. Willy t. Blazer, Vice Counselor and Head of Chancery of Switzerland in India brought Khajjiar on the world tourism map by christening it "Mini Switzerland". He also put a sign board of a yellow Swiss hiking footpath showing Khajjiar's distance from the Swiss capital Berne-6194 km. Khajjiar is among the 160 locations in the world that bear topographical resemblance with Switzerland. The Counselor also took from Khajjiar a stone which will form part of a stone collage around the Swiss Parliament to remind the visitors of Khajjiar as Mini Switzerland of India. It is about 6,500 feet (2,000 m) above sea level in the foothills of the Dhauladhar ranges of the Western Himalayas and snowy peaks can be seen in the distance. It is part of the Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary.
Khajjiar is often reffered to as "Gulmarg of Himachal Pradesh".
.Khajjiar is a hill station in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh, India, located approximately 24 km from Dalhousie. Khajjiar sits on a small plateau with a small stream-fed lake in the middle that has been covered over with weeds.
Khajjiar can be reached from Dalhousie and Chamba, the nearest major town and hill station, by bus/Taxi in an hour or so. It has a rare combination of three ecosystems: lake, pasture and forest, all in one place.
There is a Hotel and some cottages run by HP Tourism at Khajjiar where the tourists can stay . Besides there are two rest houses one each of P.W.D. and Forest Deptt. A couple of nice private hotels have also come up.
Travel
Most tourists travel to Khajjiar by private or rented vehicles. Bus service is also available to and from Khajjiar.
Places of Interest
The best entertainment in Khajjiar is to walk around the lake or to go for long walks in the thick pine forests. Children enjoy this place because of the freedom of movement and the slopy terrain which permits them to roll down to the lake without getting hurt. Another attraction like any other hill station is horse riding.Dhauladhar mountains:Dense deodars, pines and lush green meadows are characteristic of Khajjiar. Since Khajjiar is situated at the base of the Dhauladhar mountains, the tourists here can get panoramic views of the mountains
Khajjiar Lake: Khajjiar Lake is a small lake, surrounded by saucer-shaped lush green meadow and a floating island. The dense growth of weed called 'vacha' has made its earth spongy. Now the banks stand covered by a thick layer of earth, formed by the years of dust settling down on the weeds.
Khajjinag temple: A little away from the lake is the temple of Khajji Nag belonging to 12th C. AD. In the mandapa of the temple one can see the images of the Pandavas and the defeated Kaurvas hanging from the roof of the circumambulatory path. The sanctum of the temple has been beautifully carved from wood. This temple is dedicated to snake(Nāga) worship and there are some snake idols inside.

The star attraction of Bharmour is the Manimahesh Lake (also known as Dal Lake, Mani Mahesh), is a high altitude lake (elevation 4,080 metres (13,390 ft)) situated close to the Manimahesh Kailash Peak(18,547' (5,653 m) in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas, in the Bharmour subdivision of Chamba district of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The Manimahesh Kailash peak that stands high close to the lake is home of देवाधिदेव महादेव भगवान शंकर Lord Shiva . This place is second to the Lake Mansarovar in its religious significance. To reach the lake one drives for an hour ahead of Bharmour to the road end at village Hadsar, about 13kms away. From there you have to trek for 4hrs to reach the Holy lake. How to reach Bharmour: By Air: The closest airport is at Gaggal (Kangra) near Dharamshala which is 190 km from Bharmour. By Rail: The nearest railway terminal is situated in Chakki Bank railway station (CHKB) and Pathankot railway station (PTK) which are at distance of 180kms from Bharmour. By Road: Bharmour is well connected by roads with main cities of Himachal Pradesh like Chamba, Kangra, Dalhousie, Dharamshala, etc. It is 65kms from the city of Chamba and approximately 200kms from Dharamshala at a height of 2195mts above sea level.

One must perform this adventurous rally/journey once in life time.Shimla also is the fascinating holyday destination with its wonderful climatic ups & down. The summer capital during British Rule, its worth visiting. Chandigarh is the most neat & clean city in the north India, It's the city beautiful.

Chowari Jot is the mountain pass perched at 8000+ feet that connects Chamba & Kangra districts of Himachal Pradesh. However, due to heavy snowfall during winters this road is usually closed to traffic. The hill top has been converted into a picnic spot by the government with small viewing cum picnic huts constructed all across. The top offers panaromic views of the Dhauladhar, Pir Panjal & Zanskar range of mountains.

Chambas is a municipality and city in the Ciego de Ávila Province of Cuba. It is located in the northern part of the province, bordering the municipalities of Morón and Florencia, as well as the province of Sancti Spíritus. To the north it borders the Bay of Buena Vista.
It comprises the communities of Chambas, Mabuya, Falla and Punta Alegre.

Khajjiar can be reached from Dalhousie and Chamba, the nearest major town and hill station, by bus/Taxi in an hour or so. It has a rare combination of three ecosystems: lake, pasture and forest, all in one place.
There is a Hotel and some cottages run by HP Tourism at Khajjiar where the tourists can stay . Besides there are two rest houses one each of P.W.D. and Forest Deptt. A couple of nice private hotels have also come up.

The best entertainment in Khajjiar is to walk around the lake or to go for long walks in the thick pine forests. Children enjoy this place because of the freedom of movement and the slopy terrain which permits them to roll down to the lake without getting hurt. Another attraction like any other hill station is horse riding.Dhauladhar mountains:Dense deodars, pines and lush green meadows are characteristic of Khajjiar. Since Khajjiar is situated at the base of the Dhauladhar mountains, the tourists here can get panoramic views of the mountains
Khajjiar Lake: Khajjiar Lake is a small lake, surrounded by saucer-shaped lush green meadow and a floating island. The dense growth of weed called 'vacha' has made its earth spongy. Now the banks stand covered by a thick layer of earth, formed by the years of dust settling down on the weeds.
Khajjinag temple: A little away from the lake is the temple of Khajji Nag belonging to 12th C. AD. In the mandapa of the temple one can see the images of the Pandavas and the defeated Kaurvas hanging from the roof of the circumambulatory path. The sanctum of the temple has been beautifully carved from wood. This temple is dedicated to snake(Nāga) worship and there are some snake idols inside.

The places covered in this video are Dubare - Elephant Camp- Coorg ,Kaveri Nisargadhama, Raja's seat Madikeri, Mandalpatti hills,Golden temple Bylakuppe etc
Dubare - Elephant Camp- Coorg :- This is an elephant capturing and training camp of the Forest Department, at the edge of Dubare forest, on the bank of river Kaveri, on the Kushalnagar - Siddapur road.The main attraction here is the river rafting or White Water Rafting. We can experience the real White Water Rafting on a 7 km stretch .
Kaveri Nisargadhama: is a 64-acreisland with lush foliage of thick bamboo groves, sandalwood and teak trees island formed and surrounded by river Kaveri. It is approximately 3 km from Kushalanagara town in coorg. The island is accessible through a hanging rope bridge.Its a must place to visit in coorg trip.
Raja's seat offers a panoramic view of the whole of Coorg hills. Apparently, erstwhile kings of Mysore would come to this place to rest and view the Coorg hills. Every evening, musical fountain is played to the tunes of popular kannada and hindi numbers.
Bhagmandala is a confluence of three rivers and is considered a sacred place. It is at a distance of 38km from Madikeri.
The Mandalpatti hills in coorg are one of the best trekking spots in Coorg. Mandalpatti hills are located around 30 km from Madikeri town in Coorg.Its an absolutely scenic place in Coorg.
Buddhist Namdroling Monastery and Golden Temple at Bylakuppe near Coorg. Bylakuppe is a Tibetian Refugee settlement in Kodagu
Talakaveri / Talacauvery : River Kaveri which is one of the 7 sacred rivers of Sapta Sindhus of the Hindu scriptures, originated at a place is called Talakaveri (head of Cauvery) in the Brahmagiri hills, at about 4,500 ft above sea level. This place is marked by a tirtha kundike or Brahma kundike (small spring/pond) from where the river emerges as a small perennial spring, but flows underground again to emerge a short distance away. It is about 48 km from Madikeri, Coorg.
Major Resorts and Hotels in Coorg are :Orange County Coorg ,Misty Mercara , Club Mahindra Kodagu Valley Resort etc . There are also very good homestays in coorg situated away from the main town (Madikeri) and are best suited to people who prefer nature over traditional sightseeing .
