Public relations (PR) is the practice of managing the spread of information between an individual or an organization (such as a business, government agency, or a nonprofit organization) and the public. Public relations may include an organization or individual gaining exposure to their audiences using topics of public interest and news items that do not require direct payment. This differentiates it from advertising as a form of marketing communications. Public relations is the idea of creating coverage for clients for free, rather than marketing or advertising. An example of good public relations would be generating an article featuring a client, rather than paying for the client to be advertised next to the article. The aim of public relations is to inform the public, prospective customers, investors, partners, employees and other stakeholders and ultimately persuade them to maintain a certain view about the organization, its leadership, products, or political decisions. Public relations professionals typically work for PR and marketing firms, businesses and companies, government, government agencies and public officials as PIOs and nongovernmental organizations and nonprofit organizations. Jobs central to Public Relations include account coordinator, account executive, account supervisor and media relations manager. Those interested into public relations should have strong written and speaking abilities, be team focused and creative. A masters in strategic communication will enhance a marketing or communication BS or BA and make prospective employers more competitive in the job market.
Mind control (also known as brainwashing, reeducation, brainsweeping, coercive persuasion, thought control, or thought reform) is a theory that human subjects can be indoctrinated in a way that causes "an impairment of autonomy, an inability to think independently, and a disruption of beliefs and affiliations. In this context, brainwashing refers to the involuntary reeducation of basic beliefs and values".
Theories of brainwashing and of mind control were originally developed to explain how totalitarian regimes appeared to systematically indoctrinate prisoners of war through propaganda and torture techniques. These theories were later expanded and modified by psychologists including Margaret Singer and Philip Zimbardo to explain a wider range of phenomena, especially conversions to some new religious movements (NRMs). The suggestion that NRMs use mind control techniques has resulted in scientific and legal debate; with Eileen Barker, James Richardson, and other scholars, as well as legal experts, rejecting at least the popular understanding of the concept.
In public relations and communication science, publics are groups of individual people, and the public (a.k.a. the general public) is the totality of such groupings. This is a different concept to the sociological concept of the Öffentlichkeit or public sphere. The concept of a public has also been defined in political science, psychology, marketing, and advertising. In public relations and communication science, it is one of the more ambiguous concepts in the field. Although it has definitions in the theory of the field that have been formulated from the early 20th century onwards, it has suffered in more recent years from being blurred, as a result of conflation of the idea of a public with the notions of audience, market segment, community, constituency, and stakeholder.
The name "public" originates with the Latin publicus (also poplicus), from populus, and in general denotes some mass population ("the people") in association with some matter of common interest. So in political science and history, a public is a population of individuals in association with civic affairs, or affairs of office or state. In social psychology, marketing, and public relations, a public has a more situational definition.John Dewey defined (Dewey 1927) a public as a group of people who, in facing a similar problem, recognize it and organize themselves to address it. Dewey's definition of a public is thus situational: people organized about a situation. Built upon this situational definition of a public is the situational theory of publics by James E. Grunig (Grunig 1983), which talks of nonpublics (who have no problem), latent publics (who have a problem), aware publics (who recognize that they have a problem), and active publics (who do something about their problem).
Relation or relations may refer to:
Black is the darkest color, the result of the absence of or complete absorption of light. It is the opposite of white (the combined spectrum of color or light). It is an achromatic color, literally a color without color or hue. It is one of the four primary colors in the CMYK color model, along with cyan, yellow, and magenta, used in color printing to produce all the other colors.
Black was one of the first colors used by artists in neolithic cave paintings. In the 14th century, it began to be worn by royalty, the clergy, judges and government officials in much of Europe. It became the color worn by English romantic poets, businessmen and statesmen in the 19th century, and a high fashion color in the 20th century.
In the Roman Empire, it became the color of mourning, and over the centuries it was frequently associated with death, evil, witches and magic. According to surveys in Europe and North America, it is the color most commonly associated with mourning, the end, secrets, magic, force, violence, evil, and elegance.

Edward Bernays on propaganda and public relations with a polemic insert from Steven Pinker's 'The Staff of Thought'. Can elite bards and scribblers create new metaphors to manipulate public opinion? I think they can, and apparently they do. According to the The Government Accounting Office, the Bush administration spent $1.6 billion over the last two and a half years on public relations operations. That's $1.6 billion of our tax money commandeered for, among other things, O.T.I.-style partisan propaganda here at home, aimed at affecting domestic elections. Included in this figure is a mysterious $15 million paid directly to individual members of the media. This information comes on the tail of previous disclosures concerning covert propaganda operations including the production of f...

Mr. Moss Kendrix, Jr. is the eldest son of the late Moss H. Kendrix. In this interview the retired Air Force Lieut. Colonel shares details of his father's fascinating career and legacy. Often referred to as the Father of Black Public Relations, Moss H. Kendrix blazed a trail that not only presented African Americans as consumers to be valued by corporations, but also helped place a positive spin on race relations in the tumultuous 1950"s. Kendrix, most noted for his relationship with Coca-Cola, held the title of head of special markets. Until the early 1970's his firm, The Moss Kendrix Organization, choreographed print ad campaigns displaying African Americans relishing in Coke. These ads not only featured prominent figures within the African American community, but also general public ...
“Simply put, white cops are afraid of black men. We don’t talk about it, we pretend it doesn’t exist, we claim “color blindness,” we say white officers treat black men the same way they treat white men. But that’s a lie. In fact, the bigger, the darker the black man the greater the fear. The African-American community knows this. Hell, most whites know it. Yet, even though it’s a central, if not the defining ingredient in the makeup of police racism, white cops won’t admit it to themselves, or to others.” ― Norm Stamper, Breaking Rank: A Top Cop's Exposé of the Dark Side of American Policing

Public Relations is relatively new to the Middle East. Yet barely a decade after the profession first became institutionalized here, the overall value of the industry, including work done by in-house communications departments, stands at about US$500 million. If current trends continue, the industry could be worth US$1 billion annually within a decade. How can the regional industry continue on its current growth trajectory, while also raising the level of advice and counsel it provides its clients? What can this emerging market learn from the rest of the world -- and do Middle East PR professionals have insights of their own to share with their peers elsewhere? Key questions discussed in the panel: What were the key challenges the regional industry has faced in the past decade, and how ...

And I made it!
In sort of an off the wall way I found my
Calling-Listen
Singing:
Up every morning, out every evening
Hustling for headlines, that's what I do
Table at Sardi's, grappling for gossip
Working the press for a mention or two
[Paperman Cont.] I never acted like some nervous rookie
Right form the start I was hot as a cookie
I was a numero uno
What a debut
Chorus:
Public Relations, Public Relations
Boozing and schmoozing, that's what I do
PR's my vocation
And I'm a sensation
Public relations
Such hullabaloo
But I went full throttle
Never could slow down
Then out of nowhere a mild heart attack
Middle age crisis
Face the big questions
Had to get off of this foolish fast track
It all started out
As an add in the paper
Now it's turned into
A tropical caper
But it's only public relations
And thats what I do
Chorus:
Public Relations, Public Relations
Ego inflation, that's what I do
Isn't it wonderful, isn't it fabulou
Public Relations, such hullabaloo

Give this some thought Norman
Things can get sticky
Here in the tropics
Wine turns to glue
Norman:
I've never seen such a beauitful ocean
Iris:
Holy sweet Jeues, he's got no clue
Norman:
I'll buy this place
I am expatriating
Iris:
You as a landlord
Sounds intoxicating
Both:
It's only Public Relations
Who's screwing who
Chorus:
No, not that old PR
Of the yacking and quacking
Making folks happy
That's what I'll do
Sun shine and sea air
Palm trees, martinis
That's what I yearn for--like you, you, and you
Just give me some time
And I'll make it come true!
