The Body Issue is an edition of ESPN The Magazine that features dozens of athletes in nude and semi-nude photographs, which is intended to rival Sports Illustrateds Swimsuit Issue. The first issue debuted on October 9, 2009. The issue was a response to the decline in advertising spending resulting from the financial crisis of 2007–2010 and late-2000s recession that saw a 24 percent decline in ad revenues for the first six months of 2009 compared to the same six-month period in 2008.
The 2009 edition had six alternative covers featuring Serena Williams (tennis), Carl Edwards (NASCAR), Adrian Peterson (NFL), Dwight Howard (NBA), Gina Carano (mixed martial arts) and Sarah Reinertsen (triathlons). The Serena Williams edition sold the most copies. The 2009 issue was a financial success, achieving double the normal edition sales, greater sales than any bi-weekly issue in over two years and 35 percent more ad sales than comparable issues, which led to plans for extended marketing of the 2010 edition.
ESPN The Magazine is a biweekly sports magazine published by the ESPN sports network in Bristol, Connecticut in the United States. The first issue was published on March 11, 1998.
The main sports covered include Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association, National Football League, National Hockey League, college basketball, and college football. The magazine typically takes a more light-hearted and humorous approach to sporting news compared to competitors such as Sports Illustrated and previously the Sporting News. It often covers players whose careers have suffered as a result of incidents off the field.
Some of the regular departments, in their magazine order:
The Magazine is a monthly digest entertainment magazine targeted for youth and published in Canada. In addition to music, movies, television, and contests, it features a variety of articles on social issues such as the environment, healthy eating habits, and self-help in cooperation with Kids Help Phone.
On November 1, 2010, The Magazine celebrated its tenth anniversary as a monthly publication.
As of 2015, The Magazine had stopped publication and is now defunct due to low readership and subscription.
Community Programs Group, parent company to The Magazine has been producing children's entertainment since 1984. They started out making educational films about subjects such as bicycle safety & rules of the road (Right Riders), first aid, and alcohol and substance abuse (Mr. Finley's Pharmacy, Choose). In 1990, CPG partnered with Marvel to publish Spider-Man comics with drug awareness and safety messages. This became a series of five comics published with Marvel for distribution across Canada by police officers visiting elementary schools while on their safety talks.

Sie war wie alle andren war'n
Voll Lebensdurst, doch unerfahr'n.
In ihren Augen brannte heiss die Glut, die Glut, die Glut.
Wo was los war, war auch sie.
Man nannte sie nur Melanie.
Sie ging die Wege zwischen schlecht
Und gut und gut und gut und gut und gut.
Zu Hause war sie fortgerannt,
Weil man nicht gleiche Worte fand.
Und Liebe spuerte sie nie - Melanie ! Melanie !
Ihr Vater hatte niemals Zeit und
Wenn er da war, gab es Streit.
So ein Leben wollte sie nie mehr,
nie mehr, nie mehr, nie mehr.
Zu Hause war sie fortgerannt,
Weil man nicht gleiche Worte fand.
Und Liebe spuerte sie nie - Melanie ! Melanie !
Mal blieb sie von der Arbeit weg und
Suchte Halt in manchem Bett.
