Are you a beginner guitar player? Learn how to play an F major open chord with this video. F is a difficult chord to master, so try not to get frustrated if you don't get the hang of it right away.
Let's talk about F. F is a very hard chord, and in the beginning it can be very frustrating to make. So the first thing you have to do with your 1st finger is you have to play 2 strings both on the 1st fret on the 1st and 2nd string - and that's the hard part right there. The other 2 are your 2nd finger is going to play the 3rd string, 2nd fret; and your 3rd finger is going to play the 4th string, 3rd fret. And here you also have to be careful when you strum that you only hit these last 4 to get the full sound. Now, when I first started I could never get that 1st string to come out. That takes a lot of practice - I wouldn't worry about that. Let's just try to get as many as you can and eventually it'll fall into place. And there you go, F major.

Hi all! This is Shivam nick . From now on, I will be writing for you guys a brand new column called The Ultimate Guide to Guitar (or UGG). This will be a collection of information, theoretical and practical lessons and exercises, about every aspect of guitar. Every week I will post you a new chapter, out of a total of 15 chapters.
Lesson 1: introduction to basic guitar course, parts of guitar, standard tuning, and note identification over fret-board, strings of guitar on staff notation, Part-2: finger gym 1st, and 1stfinger picking exercise. There are 20 lessons drafted for this course, one lesson a week in manner, An average person will take approximately 6 month to complete it; (A practice of minimum 3 hours is needed complete each weekly lessons.)
* If One goes through these lessons according to training manner he/she would be able to-
1. Fully understand guitar and its music concepts from very beginning,
2. Will learn all kinds of popular scales including diatonic, pentatonic and blues scales.
3. Play and understand different kinds of chords played on guitar i.e. major, minor, 7th, 9th, sus2, sus4, add, dim, and power chords, bar chords etc. you will learn how chords are formed.
4. Learn all popular rhythms used in western songs as well as Bollywood songs.
5. figure-out scale (key) and chords and rhythm pattern for much of Bollywood songs, alone.
6. Understand basics of western music theory as well as reading and writing of music notations / staff notions and tabulation (tab).
7. And above all, this will be base of solid ground in music, would possess basic knowledge of western music, and of guitar, would be able to understand music language, style, and all other terms used on You-tube and elsewhere in music/ guitar tutorials, can also go ahead in music.

F major
The F major scale (or the key of F) consists of the pitches F, G, A, B♭, C, D, and E. Its key signature has one flat.
Its relative minor is D minor and its parallel minor is F minor.
F major key is the home key of the English horn, the basset horn, the horn in F, the trumpet in F and the bass Wagner tuba. Thus, music in F major for these instruments is written in C major key. Most of these sound a perfect fifth lower than written, with the exception of the trumpet in F which sounds a fourth higher. (The basset horn also often sounds an octave and a fifth lower.)

Guitar
The guitar is a popular musical instrument classified as a string instrument with anywhere from 4 to 18 strings, usually having 6. The sound is projected either acoustically or through electrical amplification (for an acoustic guitar or an electric guitar, respectively). It is typically played by strumming or plucking the strings with the right hand while fretting (or pressing against the frets) the strings with the fingers of the left hand. The guitar is a type of chordophone, traditionally constructed from wood and strung with either gut, nylon or steel strings and distinguished from other chordophones by its construction and tuning. The modern guitar was preceded by the gittern, the vihuela, the four-course Renaissance guitar, and the five-course baroque guitar, all of which contributed to the development of the modern six-string instrument.
There are three main types of modern acoustic guitar: the classical guitar (nylon-string guitar), the steel-string acoustic guitar, and the archtop guitar. The tone of an acoustic guitar is produced by the strings's vibration, amplified by the body of the guitar, which acts as a resonating chamber. The classical guitar is often played as a solo instrument using a comprehensive finger-picking technique. The term "finger-picking" can also refer to a specific tradition of folk, blues, bluegrass, and country guitar playing in the United States.

Major scale
The major scale or Ionian scale is one of the most commonly used musical scales, especially in Western music. It is one of the diatonic scales. Like many musical scales it is made up of seven notes: the eighth duplicates the first at double its frequency so that it is called a higher octave of the same note (from Latin "octavus", the eighth).
The simplest major scale to write is C major, the only major scale not to require sharps or flats:
The major scale had a central importance in European music, particularly in the common practice period and in popular music, owing to the large number of chords that can be formed from it. In Hindustani classical music it is known as Bilaval.
Structure
A major scale is a diatonic scale. The sequence of intervals between the notes of a major scale is:
where "whole" stands for a whole tone (a red u-shaped curve in the figure), and "half" stands for a semitone (a red broken line in the figure).
A major scale may be seen as two identical tetrachords separated by a whole tone. Each tetrachord consists of two whole tones followed by a semitone:

Lesson 1: introduction to basic guitar course, parts of guitar, standard tuning, and note identification over fret-board, strings of guitar on staff notation, Part-2: finger gym 1st, and 1stfinger picking exercise. There are 20 lessons drafted for this course, one lesson a week in manner, An average person will take approximately 6 month to complete it; (A practice of minimum 3 hours is needed complete each weekly lessons.) * If One goes through these lessons according to training manner he/she would be able to- 1. Fully understand guitar and its music concepts from very beginning, 2. Will learn all kinds of popular scales including diatonic, pentatonic and blues scales. 3. Play and understand different kinds of chords played on guitar i.e. major, minor, 7th, 9th, sus2, sus4, add, dim, and power chords, bar chords etc. you will learn how chords are formed. 4. Learn all popular rhythms used in western songs as well as Bollywood songs. 5. figure-out scale (key) and chords and rhythm pattern for much of Bollywood songs, alone. 6. Understand basics of western music theory as well as reading and writing of music notations / staff notions and tabulation (tab). 7. And above all, this will be base of solid ground in music, would possess basic knowledge of western music, and of guitar, would be able to understand music language, style, and all other terms used on You-tube and elsewhere in music/ guitar tutorials, can also go ahead in music. Are you a beginner guitar player? Learn how to play an F major open chord with this video. F is a difficult chord to master, so try not to get frustrated if you don't get the hang of it right away.
Let's talk about F. F is a very hard chord, and in the beginning it can be very frustrating to make. So the first thing you have to do with your 1st finger is you have to play 2 strings both on the 1st fret on the 1st and 2nd string - and that's the hard part right there. The other 2 are your 2nd finger is going to play the 3rd string, 2nd fret; and your 3rd finger is going to play the 4th string, 3rd fret. And here you also have to be careful when you strum that you only hit these last 4 to get the full sound. Now, when I first started I could never get that 1st string to come out. That takes a lot of practice - I wouldn't worry about that. Let's just try to get as many as you can and eventually it'll fall into place. And there you go, F major.

Welcome to my guitar lesson # 14. We are entering into the chords now!! :D .. Here the 7th chord for u guys! Its the F major chord! .. Happy playing! :)
Hi all! This is Shivam nick . From now on, I will be writing for you guys a brand new column called The Ultimate Guide to Guitar (or UGG). This will be a collection of information, theoretical and practical lessons and exercises, about every aspect of guitar. Every week I will post you a new chapter, out of a total of 15 chapters.
Lesson 1: introduction to basic guitar course, parts of guitar, standard tuning, and note identification over fret-board, strings of guitar on staff notation, Part-2: finger gym 1st, and 1stfinger picking exercise. There are 20 lessons drafted for this course, one lesson a week in manner, An average person will take approximately 6 month to complete it; (A practice of minimum 3 hours is needed complete each weekly lessons.)
* If One goes through these lessons according to training manner he/she would be able to-
1. Fully understand guitar and its music concepts from very beginning,
2. Will learn all kinds of popular scales including diatonic, pentatonic and blues scales.
3. Play and understand different kinds of chords played on guitar i.e. major, minor, 7th, 9th, sus2, sus4, add, dim, and power chords, bar chords etc. you will learn how chords are formed.
4. Learn all popular rhythms used in western songs as well as Bollywood songs.
5. figure-out scale (key) and chords and rhythm pattern for much of Bollywood songs, alone.
6. Understand basics of western music theory as well as reading and writing of music notations / staff notions and tabulation (tab).
7. And above all, this will be base of solid ground in music, would possess basic knowledge of western music, and of guitar, would be able to understand music language, style, and all other terms used on You-tube and elsewhere in music/ guitar tutorials, can also go ahead in music.

This chapter belongs to Part I: for beginners of this guide, and is meant for players who have just picked up their guitars and want to learn how to play! If you're a little more experienced, check out my guide every week... Subscribe if you want, before you know we will be digging in the more advanced stuff! So you're new to guitar? That means you're sitting there right now, holding your guitar a little uncomfortably, not sure what to begin with... In this article, you are going to learn some basic stuff you just have to know before you start playing! What you will learn:
Guitar anatomy: how the different parts of the guitar are called
Playing position: how to hold your guitar while playing
Left and right hand position: how to hold your hands in the correct way
