Data (/ˈdeɪtə/ DAY-tə, /ˈdætə/ DA-tə, or /ˈdɑːtə/ DAH-tə) is a set of values of qualitative or quantitative variables; restated, pieces of data are individual pieces of information. Data is measured, collected and reported, and analyzed, whereupon it can be visualized using graphs or images. Data as a general concept refers to the fact that some existing information or knowledge is represented or coded in some form suitable for better usage or processing.
Raw data, i.e. unprocessed data, is a collection of numbers, characters; data processing commonly occurs by stages, and the "processed data" from one stage may be considered the "raw data" of the next. Field data is raw data that is collected in an uncontrolled in situ environment. Experimental data is data that is generated within the context of a scientific investigation by observation and recording.
The Latin word "data" is the plural of "datum", and still may be used as a plural noun in this sense. Nowadays, though, "data" is most commonly used in the singular, as a mass noun (like "information", "sand" or "rain").
Departure or Departures may refer to:
A music box or musical box is an automatic musical instrument that produces sounds by the use of a set of pins placed on a revolving cylinder or disc so as to pluck the tuned teeth (or lamellae) of a steel comb. They were developed from musical snuff boxes of the 18th century and called carillons à musique. Some of the more complex boxes also have a tiny drum and/or small bells, in addition to the metal comb.
The original snuff boxes were tiny containers which could fit into a gentleman's waistcoat pocket. The music boxes could have any size from that of a hat box to a large piece of furniture, but most were tabletop specimens. They were usually powered by clockwork and originally produced by artisan watchmakers. For most of the 19th century, the bulk of music box production was concentrated in Switzerland, building upon a strong watchmaking tradition. The first music box factory was opened there in 1815 by Jérémie Recordon and Samuel Junod. There were also a few manufacturers in Bohemia and Germany. By the end of the 19th century, some of the European makers had opened factories in the United States.

JET ENGINES ARE INCREDIBLY LOUD and people living or working close to Airports can get very cross with the noise a modern commercial aircraft like the 737 can make! SID's are designed with noise abatement procedures that avoid residential areas as far as possible but what can Airlines do to help further lower noise? ICAO states airlines must establish operating procedures for noise abatement during instrument flight operations in compliance with PANS-OPS. These two NADP departures are as follows -NADP 1 (Noise Abatement Departure Procedure 1) This procedure involves a power reduction at or above the prescribed minimum altitude and delaying flap/slat retraction until the prescribed maximum altitude is attained (3000ft). At the prescribed maximum altitude, accelerate and retract flaps...

The Transport Catapult is helping to improve air travel efficiency and safety. The project will deliver two types of solution, a simplified more cost-effective version suited to smaller hubs to allow them to share data with EUROCONTROL. For airports equipped with the more advanced Electronic Flight Progress Strips (EFPS) tower systems (Manchester, Stanstead, London City, Edinburgh, Luton, Glasgow and Aberdeen) we will offer a software upgrade. Heathrow and Gatwick already have the capability to share DPI messages with the European Network Manager. Our tug broke down when it tried to perform pushback on our aircraft, and had to spend some time to remove the broken tug and find a replacement. During that time the aircraft was considered "departed" / "en route", but we were standing still for the first 30 minutes! DATA FOR THE PEOPLE: How to Make Our Post-Privacy Economy Work for You Andreas Weigend is one of the world's foremost experts on the future of big data, social-mobile technologies, and consumer behavior. Previously the chief scientist at Amazon, he is now the founding director of the Social Data Lab at Stanford. Weigend considers questions such as: How might people gain control of how their data is used to actually make it work for and not against them? Is it possible for individuals to get more from big data than they contribute to it? What would it take and how feasible is it? How can companies and individuals become equal partners? Big data is here to stay, but the fact is, individuals are still subject to risks and generally do not benefit from the wealth of our own data that oth...
Last departure push of the day on Monday evening, February 6, 2012. This is Fort Worth Center (ZFW) Sector 90, or Texarkana High (TXK-HI). TXK-HI works all eastbound departures off of the DFW terminal area and owns FL240 and above. By my count, the maximum number of data tags during this push was 21. The sector goes "red" at 18, so I was fairly busy but there was no weather or turbulence at the time so it was quite manageable by myself with a radar associate controller plugged in with me to assist with land-line communications while I talked to the airplanes.
Most experienced data analysts and programmers already have the skills to get started. BigQuery is fully managed and lets you search through terabytes of data in seconds. It’s also cost effective: you can store gigabytes, terabytes, or even petabytes of data with no upfront payment, no administrative costs, and no licensing fees. In this webinar, we will: - Build several highly-effective analytics solutions with Google BigQuery - Provide a clear road map of BigQuery capabilities - Explain how to quickly find answers and examples online - Share how to best evaluate BigQuery for your use cases - Answer your questions about BigQuery

Dynamics 365 for Operations (AX7) is a dramatic departure from earlier versions of AX and data integration is one area that has undergone a radical transformation. This new approach introduces expanded opportunities for tight EDI integration without customization. Learn how the evolution of Dynamics AX7 can be a huge benefit for AX users that need tight and robust EDI integration.
Boeing Field King County International Airport (KBFI) continues to be at the higher end of Class D airports when it comes to TCAS RAs. At KBFI, there is approximately 1 RA every 48 flight operations by TCAS equipped aircraft. The trend is seasonal and increases with the good VFR weather and traffic volumes that often accompany the weather. There are some areas that are more likely to generate TCAS RAs and some of the RAs are caused by interaction with arrival traffic into Seattle Tacoma International Airport (KSEA). The BFI ATCT briefing will provide data where the RAs are likely to occur and some mitigations that may help to reduce the frequency and provide some extra margin of safety.
Keith Packard https://linux.conf.au/schedule/30060/view_talk Innovations in optical interconnect and storage technologies have prompted HP to undertake a large-scale development effort called "The Machine". This radical departure from traditional computer architectures which we call 'Memory-Driven Computing', where large scales of heterogenous computation can be brought to bear on a data set which is accessed not over a traditional network or storage system, but rather directly from the computational elements using memory load/store instructions. This presentation will describe the first implementation of this architecture, both hardware and software. On the hardware side, this will include: • Heterogenous computation node hardware • Memory interconnection fabric • Hund...

The tutorial is set in Johannesburg and uses train stations and stops within the CBD area as an example of geo point data from Google Earth. The Social media section looks for people that might be talking about there issues or current movements regarding Taxi's within a 5km radius of those stations and Bree St. The tutorial runs through the process of locating geo co-ordinates in Google Earth, exporting all those points and then converting the resulting KML file into a CSV format. The tutorial then runs through a set of Social media plugins for Grasshopper that allow us to locate and track users in realtime in relation to the points we extracted from Google Earth. The tutorial is about 30min long, but it moves fairly quickly, it should take around 2 hours with some pausing, rewinding et...
