Friends Again - The Friends Again EP (2x7 Inch Gatefold / 1984)

01 Lullaby No. 2 (Love On Board) 3:52
02 Wand You Wave 3:28
03 Thank You For Being An Angel 3:56
04 Sunkissed (New Version) 3;15
05 State Of Art (Remix) 3:53

Here's a project I've had on the back burner for sometime. I purchased it about six months ago and scanned all the artwork back then. The only thing left to do was to give it a proper digital recording. It's recent sale on discogs forced my decision to complete the process. I know that this had been posted some time ago on another site I frequent, but I really wanted to take it on for a full work out in my own way. Everything was scanned in HD and retouched along with high quality FLAC recordings of the nearly pristine seven inch records. I think you will find it to your liking. I know most everyone is seeking the 'State Of Art' import twelve inch, but until I have $100+ to burn, this will have to do. Thanks as always! My 'birthday' gift...to you! Enjoy!

Charlie Sexton - Pictures For Pleasure (CD / 1985)

01 Impressed 4:19
02 Beats So Lonely 5:16
03 Restless 4:58
04 Hold me 4:32
05 Pictures For Pleasure 4:57
06 Tell Me 4:32
07 Attractions 4:30
08 You Don't Belong Here 4:58
09 Space 3:31

I recently replaced a broken link to Charlie Sexton's twelve inch for 'Impressed' and it got me to thinking. One, I need to redo his first two twelve inch releases in a lossless format with HD scans and two, I really should post this full length to coincide with my recent blog posts. So...here you have it. Not a hard to find CD, but still, worthy of a share. This takes me back to the mid eighties nightclub scene, when music was music and Dead Or Alive would be played next to Gene Loves Jezebel and it ALL worked. Ha! I guess Sundays are for reminiscing about 'them' glory days. Anyway, here you are. All the scans and a lossless share for your 'pleasure'. Thanks as always and enjoy!

Stabilizers - Tyranny (CD / 1986)

01 Tyranny 4:31
02 (If I) Found Rome 4:40
03 I Don't Need The Pain 4:05
04 Now I here You 4:05
05 One Simple Thing 4:10
06 Underground 4:47
07 Does Your Love Lie Open? 4:32
08 Place To Hide 3:43
09 You Pull Me Down 4:03

Following suit with my previous post. I picked this one up for about $20, but is sells for far more! The Stabilizers had one big track 'One Simple Thing' then seemed to just fade away from it all. Kind of funny too, as it seemed acts similar to them such as the Cutting Crew, Outfield and Pseudo Echo were making a big splash on the airwaves and in the Pop Rock world. Either way, it is a fine song that doesn't particularly have a personal memory attached to it. The rest of the disc seems a bit dated, but still holds up well. Other standout tracks include the title track 'Tyranny' and 'Underground'. All scans are included here along with lossless (FLAC) recording. Thanks. Enjoy!

Rock And Hyde - Under The Volcano (Import CD / 1987)

Blame it on the Summer. I've neglected the blog due to a variety of reasons, but I'm going with the excuse 'Summer' and all it has to offer. Actually, I have been busy, but my goals remain true. Recent record and CD purchases have been numerous. One of my biggest focuses has been the Pop-Rock scene of the mid to late eighties. A mass of HTF CD's from one off artists have been purchased via all avenues for an undisclosed amount of coin! This post being one of them. I posted the 12 inch of 'Dirty Water' previously and I still want to get my hands on the 'I Will' extended release, but for now, the full length will have to suffice. This release will forever remind me of the Summer of 1987. Recorded in lossless FLAC this time around with all the scans included. 'Summer On' my friends...Thanks as always! Enjoy!

Just a quick update (8-5-17), There was an issue with the tracking on the last recording. I want to thank DJ Shelf for pointing that out to me! All tracks have been properly restored and a new link has been provided.

A lovely find, if I do say so myself. Find, as in, I went to a local record store (Stardust Records & Collectibles) over the weekend and came across a ton of hard to find, rare and out of print CD's and records, all going for a measly two dollars a piece! Kid in a candy store! I should have bought more, but I though $300 spent was well enough alone at that point. Your benefit and mine. You get some classic releases (lossless and HD scanned images) and I get to beef up my blog....and Discogs store.

Let's begin with this RLYL release from 1994 on Cherry Red. I had a CD-r version of this during my days of djing back in the mid 90's to early 2000's. I had always wanted the original because my CD-r was not well noted with the tracks or time list. I just had to know what to go with. A bit frustrating when you are in the mix and need a track asap. This being 26 tracks made it an even bigger issue. Let's just leave those djing stories back in the past for now. Quick note...Happy Father's day to all my followers who fall into that category. I for one enjoyed a completely relaxing day of doing some yard work and then capping it of with this post. Thanks again friends. Enjoy!

The Spoons - Collectible Spoons (Canadian Import CD / 1994)

The highly underrated Spoons! I have to go back to my youth, specifically 1982, to recall the brilliant hit 'Nova Heart'. It's where it all started for me and I've collected all their work since. That track in particular came on the airwaves and I was immediately transported into another world. A Flock Of Seagulls and Strange Advance are right there with it, in 1982, that is. This is a fine compilation that covers most of the early releases stretching from 1981-1988. I owned this years ago, and like most everything I owned, it was sold...then repurchased. Ahh youth (smh)! This is all in WAV format and includes every scan from my CD. Happy June Friday my friends! Enjoy!

14 Two Virgins Tender 4:05
15 My Happy Dream 2:46

18 The Lotus Eaters 3:00
19 Out On Your Own (12 Inch Version) 5:25
20 It Hurts / There Must be A Taste Of Murder In It (12 Inch Version) 5:58

After the last few Lotus Eater posts, I received a bunch of requests for the full length. More than happy to supply my readers and followers with that, but one notch better! The 2010 Expanded Remaster sounds brilliant! All recordings here are in WAV format along with all the scans from the booklet and tray art.

I've been an a bit of a hiatus from blogging. That is due to my expansion of sales on Discogs and an uptick in purchases for my ever growing CD/Record collection. Family activities have filled the gaps as well and Summer is nearly upon us! Concerts and events with friends, not to mention outdoor life, have picked up too. For those of you in the States, a warm and thoughtful Memorial Day mention to you and yours and all those who have fallen for the securities of the United States. Thanks again everyone for your continued patience with my posts and to those of you who comment regularly! Enjoy!

The Damned - Anything (US 12 Inch / 1986)

01 Anything (Another Mix) 4:39
02 The Year Of The Jackal 5:54
03 Thanks For The Night 5:38

Completely missed posting this by a few days, as The Damned came swirling through Chicago (90 minute road trip from me) for a show at the House Of Blues on 4/24. Missed the show too, but was enlightened with some pics and videos a few FB friends posted of the event. Damned again. Either way, I figured it was due time to give this release the focus it needs! HD scans and full 16bit FLAC recording from my recent and inexpensive purchase on discogs. I had the twelve inch at one point, but the record was lost in one of those ever-opening holes of my 25+ years of record collecting. Ugh. Moving right along....Thanks again! Enjoy!

X-Mal Deutschland - Sickle Moon (Import 12 Inch / 1987)

01 Sickle Moon 6:42
02 Illusion (Version) 4:08
03 In Onyx 3:01

In following yesterday's post, this post here was also a recent sell on Discogs. All HD art scans (my work and photoshopping) and FLAC recordings are taken directly from my 'previously' owned copy. Here's a link to all that is X-Mal. Thank you again. Enjoy!

The Lotus Eaters - You Don't Need Someone New (UK 12 Inch / 1983)

01 You Don't Need Someone New 5:07
02 Two Virgins Tender 4:01
03 You Don't Need Someone New (Charleston Mix) 6:07

A random post in the midst of collecting (more) local music for the blog. One of the lesser known Lotus Eater twelve inch releases from 1983 that lead to the largely successful follow up 'The First Picture Of You'. Quite honestly, it has been in my collection for years and this is the first I've listened to it in about the same time. All recorded in FLAC format with HD scans. I recently sold this on discogs, hence the post here. Thank you. Enjoy!

Bad Boy - Best Of Bad Boy (CD / 1998)

01 Run From Yourself 3:46
02 Here I Am 4:08
03 Private Party 4:04
04 Something Ain't Right 3:55
05 Cheat On Me 3;20
06 Thunder & Lightning 5:26
07 Afraid Of Your Love 3:42
08 She Can (Drive You Crazy) 3;12
09 Girl On The Run 3:40
10 Midnight Love 3:38
11 Stay With Me Tonight 2:38
12 Mama Mama 3:36
13 Gotcha! 3:47
14 Sex Thang 5:06

Rock Candy records recently released the first two recordings of Milwaukee's very own 'Bad Boy' on CD for the first time. In coordination with those releases from 2016, I have decided to add their one and only compilation release from 1998. Bad Boy are well know for their hard rocking, pub-like attitude and AOR flair. Big local hits such as 'Private Party', 'Cheat On Me', 'Thunder And Lightning' and my personal favorite 'Stay With Me Tonight' really call for further exposure. Everything is recorded in flac with HD scans.

I used to be a Milwaukee native and had seen this band many times back in their heyday, not to mention their regrouping for a comeback tour opening for The Outfield many years ago (Mid 2000). This ties into my attempt at trying to bring in some of the Milwaukee flavor that is well known locally. It's time to spread it globally via S.S.T.M. Enjoy! Happy Friday...Happy Easter!

Aztec Camera - Walk Out To Winter (UK 12 Inch / 1983)

01 Walk Out To Winter (Extended Version) 7:48
02 Set The Killing Free 3:46

I've been holding out posting this for some time. I recently had seen it on another blog. Not sure who put it up or where it was posted, but I wanted to get my work out either way. The photos were taken a year ago before I had my HD scanner and unfortunately now the 12 inch has been sold. The recordings are in fine lossless flac format (16 bit). They sound brilliant if I do say so myself.

Given that it is technically Spring (for most), there are still plenty of us seeing the last gasp of Winter's storms make their way. Hence the track...and more. Thanks as always! Enjoy!

Wire Train - Ten Women (Import CD / 1987)

01 She Comes On 3:29
02 Take Me Back 3:34
03 Diving 4:16
04 She's A Very Pretty Thing 2:47
05 Breakwater Days 5:08
06 She's Got You 3:05
07 Mercy Mercy 4:35
08 Certainly No One 3;34
09 The Hollow Song 3:31
10 Too Long Alone 4:19

This third release from Wire Train follows suit with their last two releases. It also marks the beginning of what I believe to be, the last good output by the group. The track 'She's A Very Pretty Thing' made some in rows at local college radio stations and some 'alternative' charts, but it wasn't clearing any hurdles following that. I still enjoy tracking through this release and it is still out there on the market, albeit, harder to find and a bit more pricey as a digital version. I've scanned most of the art here, passing on all the 'inner' lyrics and have included a full flac lossless recording for your pleasure. Again, thanks for your patience and continued support via comments and links. I have some fun material upcoming. Stay tuned! Enjoy!

Clock DVA - Breakdown (US 12 Inch / 1983)

01 Breakdown (Extended Version) 5:44
02 Breakdown 4:24
03 Beautiful Losers 4:27
04 Black Angels Death Song 3:29

I recently bought a hoard of Clock DVA. This 12 Inch was included, albeit a bit beat up, but worthy nonetheless. The recordings proved to be beyond repair, well repairable so to speak. I wasn't going to spend all the time to do that. All the tracks have been taken from the 1989 'Advantage' CD. It's a flac recording. All the art contained herein is from my original 12 inch. Even that needed some photoshop work. Happy Friday all. Enjoy!

Xymox - Imagination (US 12 Inch / 1989)

01 Imagination (Dance Mix) 6:32
02 Imagination (Dub) 6:13
03 Imagination (Edit) 3:38
04 Obsession (Club Mix) 6:34

Another record that follows suite with the my last post...'Sold'. I've had this and most of the Clan Of Xymox / Xymox vinyl releases from the beginning. This is one of the first that I've converted to digital. In the past, I had pulled downloads from other blogs to compensate, but was having a hard time finding a good rip of this. Then again most of the downloads were from the hard to find CDS and those were at 320, which is fine, but that release didn't have the same content as what the U.S. vinyl had. So, here we are. A massive 24/96 flac recording and all the HD scans direct from my personal copy. Thank you. Enjoy!

Sisters Of Mercy - Alice (Dirty Funker Mixes) (Import Promo 12 Inch / 2003)

01 Alice (Dirty Funker Mix) 7:54
02 Alice (Doctor Dirty Funker's Avalanche Dub) 6:55

Taking some time, plenty of it, to post some vinyl for a change. The process of recording, scanning and all that goes into my record posts takes me three times longer than just dropping in a flac remaster of a CD. Most of the time what I'm recording from vinyl is actually something I sold on Discogs. This just so happens to be the case with this 2003 release. I found it for 4$ and sold it for $12. This is a 24/96 flac recording along with all HD scans. Perhaps a few of you SOM die hards have this and/or will enjoy it. Alice is a great track to begin with, so dropping in a 4/4 beat and some effects over the top of it seems...ehh...you be the judge. Thanks! Enjoy!

The Nails - Mood Swing (CD Remaster / 2007)

The Nails were so much more than the novelty hit '88 Lines About 44 Women'! Here is your chance to get a rare taste of what they were really about. Think more in the lines of the Suburbs with a splash of (early) Wall Of Voodoo. Marc Cambell's baritone vocals and Douglas Guthrie's sax performances are stellar and their cover of the 1967 track 'Let It All Hang Out' by the Hombres is a class act from the get go! It's time for you to realize just how much the Nails ARE NOT 88 Lines...at all...seriously. Flac recording from the rare 2007 Remaster release. All scans included. Happy Sunday friends...Enjoy!

Wire Train - In A Chamber / Between Two Worlds (2 CD Ltd. Ed. / 1995)

I spent a pretty penny on this exclusive two CD limited edition pressing. Had it shipped all the way from down under. The best thing about it is the fact it has the exclusive remixes on it. I want the first three Wire Train releases to be properly remastered, but this will do in a pinch. Here's the info link if you'd like to buy my copy! If not, then I give you the full flac version with all the scans...my treat! I love all the tracks on this and the follow up release 'Ten Women', but my personal favourite is 'No Pretties'. Enjoy!

I just want to apologize to the lot of you that had downloaded this prior to 2/11/17. One fantastic follower noticed that several tracks were fractured and called it to my attention. I sincerely thank you for that. The tracks in question have been recovered and there is a new link provided!

My friend recently requested a flac version of this somewhat rare (until this very moment), CD-r. You can buy my original here.  I purchased this via A Different Drum ten plus years ago. Plenty of mixes (not all) from the Cetu Javu back catalogue. Here are all the scans and a lossless flac recording for your enjoyment!

Frozen Ghost - Frozen Ghost (Canadian Import CD / 1987)

The Summer of 1987 was filled with many wonderful tracks by new artists that were far off the Billboard Top 40 and Rock Radio / AOR charts. I recall a newer local radio station in Milwaukee (WLZR 102.9) coming on the air in the Winter of 1987. They began to rotate pop rock tracks from Frozen Ghost, The Other Ones, Rock and Hyde, The Psychedelic Furs, Billy Squier, Mason Rufner, The Robert Cray Band, Lou Gramm and others. It was quite a smorgasbord of new music for such a small market, but they were testing the airwaves and listeners.

I was hooked and with that went out and purchased this s/t debut on cassette. I'd purchase the CD later when it became more widely available. You have to remember that compact discs were just beginning to flood the market. They were not cheap and neither were the CD players. This CD has never been reissued which makes it a bit rare to find these days. Average price can be anywhere from $15 to $30+ on Bay / Amazon / Discogs.

I recently picked this up again after years of not having it. I have recorded it in flac and included all the scans. Here's a link for more info on the band and their discography. Thanks and enjoy!
