Subscription business model

The subscription business model is a business model where a customer must pay a subscription price to have access to the product/service. The model was pioneered by magazines and newspapers, but is now used by many businesses and websites.

Rather than selling products individually, a subscription sells periodic (monthly or yearly or seasonal) use or access to a product or service, or, in the case of such non-profit organizations as opera companies or symphony orchestras, it sells tickets to the entire run of five to fifteen scheduled performances for an entire season. Thus, a one-time sale of a product can become a recurring sale and can build brand loyalty. It is used for anything where a user is tracked in both a subscribed and unsubscribed status.

Membership fees to some types of organizations, such as trade unions, are also known as subscriptions.

Industries that use this model include mail order book sales clubs and music sales clubs, cable television, satellite television providers with pay-TV channels, satellite radio, telephone companies, cell phone companies, internet providers, software providers, websites (e.g., blogging websites), business solutions providers, financial services firms, fitness clubs, lawn mowing and snowplowing services and pharmaceuticals, as well as the traditional newspapers, magazines and academic journals.

Sanam Re

Sanam Re is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Divya Khosla Kumar and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and co-produced by Ajay Kapoor. The film features Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam and Urvashi Rautela in the lead roles while Rishi Kapoor appear in crucial supporting roles.

The film released worldwide on 12 February 2016.

Production

The film began production in December 2014, in Shimla. Sanam Re was shot in multiple locations like Mumbai, Shimla, Kalpa and Ladakh, Banff, Jasper and Calgary, Canada.

Music

The music for Sanam Re is composed by Mithoon, Jeet Ganguly, Amaal Mallik, and Epic Bhangra. Raju Singh has composed the original background score. The lyrics are penned by Rashmi Virag, Mithoon, Manoj Muntashir, Manoj Yadav, Ikka Singh and Kumaar. The music rights of the film have been acquired by T-Series.
The film's title track in the voice of Arijit Singh was released as a single on 22 December 2015. The second song, titled "Gazab Ka Hai Yeh Din" was released on 1 January 2016. The full music album was released on 4 January 2016.

Vinod Khosla

Vinod Khosla (Gurmukhi: ਵਿਨੋਦ ਖੋਸਲਾ; born 28 January 1955) is an Indian/American businessman listed by Forbes magazine as a billionaire. Khosla made his early fortune as one of the co-founders of Sun Microsystems, a company which created the Java programming language and Network File System (NFS) after his departure as founding CEO and chairman in the early 1980s.

Early life and education

Khosla's father was an officer in the Indian Army and was posted at New Delhi, India.

Khosla read about the founding of Intel in Electronic Engineering Times at the age of fourteen and this inspired him to pursue technology as a career. He attended Mount St Marys High School in Delhi. He went on to receive multiple degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering), Carnegie Mellon University (Masters in Biomedical Engineering), and Stanford Graduate School of Business (MBA).

Career

In 1980, after post-graduating from Stanford University, Khosla worked for electronic design automation company Daisy Systems.

Divya Khosla Kumar

Divya Khosla Kumar is an Indian actress, producer and director. Divya recently debuted as director for a college romance movie called Yaariyan and now her new directroial movie Sanam Re is releasing on 12th Feb 2016. that released on 10 January 2014. Divya is also one of the producers of Ranbir Kapoor starrer film Roy.

Personal life

Divya Khosla Kumar married Bhushan Kumar on 13th February 2005 at the Maa Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. They have a son Ruhaan who was born in 2011. Her sister-in-law is Playback singer Tulsi Kumar.

Divya started her career in Bollywood as an actor with the 2004 film Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo. She also appeared in music video of "Honey Honey" of Salman Khan & in "Aiyo Rama" of Falguni Pathak.Divya then did a course in cinematography and editing. After that Divya directed music videos for Agam Nigam, Jermaine Jackson, Tulsi Kumar, and a few ad films. After directing 20 music videos Divya directed her first directiorial venture Yaariyan in 2014. Divya also choreographed 5 songs in the film including Baarish, Maa, Love Me Thoda Aur, Allah Wariya and Zor Lagake.

Since the age of 16, when he first heard about Intel starting up, he dreamt of starting his own technology company. Upon graduating with a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Vinod failed, at age 20, to start a soy milk company to service the many people in India who did not have refrigerators. He came instead to the U.S. and got his master’s in biomedical engineering at Carnegie-Mellon University. His start-up dreams attracted him to Silicon Valley, where he got an MBA at Stanford University in 1980. Upon graduation he was one of the three founders of Daisy Systems, which was the first significant computer-aided design system for electrical engineers. The company went on to achieve significant revenue, profits, and an IPO, but Khosla, driven by the frustration of having to design the computer hardware on which the Daisy software needed to be built, started the standards-based Sun Microsystems in 1982 to build workstations for software developers. At Sun he pioneered “open systems” and RISC processors. Sun was funded by longtime friend and board member John Doerr of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. In 1986 Vinod switched sides and joined Kleiner Perkins, where he was and continues to be a general partner of KPCB funds through KP X. Through the years there, with other partners, he took on Intel’s monopoly with Nexgen/AMD (the only microprocessor to have significant success against Intel, sold to AMD for 28 percent of AMD), incubated the idea and business plan for Juniper to take on Cisco’s dominance of the router market, formulated the very early advertising-based search strategy for Excite, and transformed the moribund telecommunications business and its archaic SONET implementations with Cerent (sold to Cisco for $7B). He helped in creating value, having fun, succeeding, failing (remember Dynabook?), and driving impact in partnership with entrepreneurs and the partners at KPCB. In 2004, Vinod, driven by the need for flexibility to accommodate four teenaged children and a desire to be more experimental, to fund sometimes imprudent “science experiments,” and to take on both for-profit and for “social impact” ventures, formed khoslaventures, funded entirely with family funds. His goals remain the same: work and learn from fun and knowledgeable entrepreneurs, build impactful companies through the leverage of innovation, and spend time in a partnership that makes a difference. Things all appear to be going well until accusations are leveled against her for attempting to sexually molest Rohan's leggy girlfriend - none other than Miss Chandigarh 2008, Soniya Saluja - which may well blow her cover, and prevent her from ever playing for any Indian Cricket team.
