Chandra

In Hinduism, Chandra (Sanskrit: चन्द्र, IAST: Candra, lit. "shining") is a lunar god and a Graha. Chandra is also identified with the Vedic lunar deity Soma. The Soma name refers particularly to the juice of sap in the plants and thus makes the Moon the lord of plants and vegetation.

Chandra is described as young, beautiful, fair; two-armed and having in his hands a club and a lotus. He rides his chariot across the sky every night, pulled by ten white horses or an antelope. He is connected with dew, and as such, is one of the gods of fertility. He is also called Rajanipati and Kshupakara, and Indu. As Soma, he presides over Monday.

Chandra is the father of Budha, the mother being Tara. He is married to 27 Nakshatras, who are known to be daughters of Daksha.

In astrology

In Vedic astrology Chandra represents brain and mind, emotions, sensitivity, softness, imagination, queen and mother. Chandra rules over the sign Cancer, while he is exalted in Taurus and in his fall in Scorpio. The waxing Moon is considered to be benefic, and the waning Moon is considered to be malefic. The bright Moon is considered a benefic of the highest order, while the dark Moon is considered a malefic. Chandra is lord of three nakshatras or lunar mansions: Rohini, Hasta and Shravana. Chandra has the following associations: the color white, the metal silver and the gemstones pearl and moonstone. The food grain associated with him, is rice.

Surya

Surya (/ˈsʊərjə/; Sanskrit: सूर्य sūrya, also known as Aditya, Bhanu or Ravi Vivasvana in Sanskrit, and in Avestan Vivanhant, is the chief solar deity in Hinduism and generally refers to the Sun in Nepal and India.

Surya is the chief of the Navagraha, the nine Classical planets and important elements of Hindu astrology. He is often depicted riding a chariot harnessed by seven horses which might represent the seven colors of the rainbow or the seven chakras in the body. He is also the presiding deity of Sunday. Surya is regarded as the Supreme Deity by Saura sect and Smartas worship him as one of the five primary forms of God. The Sun god, Zun, worshipped by the Afghan Zunbil dynasty, is thought to be synonymous with Surya.

Arka form

"Arka" form is worshiped mostly in North India and Eastern parts of India. The temples dedicated to the "Arka" form of Surya are Konark Temple in Orissa, Uttararka and Lolarka in Uttar Pradesh, and Balarka in Rajasthan. There was an old sun temple in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh named Balarka Surya Mandir, built by King Tilokchand Arkawanshi in early 10th century AD which was destroyed in the 14th century during the Turkish invasions. The Surya temple in Konark was built by Ganga Vamsi king Narasimha Dev. Sun Temple, Modhera in Gujarat was built in 1026 AD by King Bhimdev of Solanki dynasty.

1974 AD

1974 AD is a national Nepali rock band, formed in Kathmandu, Nepal in the early 1990s. They experiment with various genre of music including Nepali folk, ragas, rock, funk, blues and jazz as well. 1974 AD are amongst the most successful recording artists in Nepal. Most of their albums are ranked among the top-ten best-selling albums according to the Hits FM of Nepal. Their concert name being 'Rock Yatra,' in 2000 AD was watched by more than 60,000 people, the largest attendance for a concert in Nepal.

Songs and albums produced by 1974 AD are usually in the Nepali language. Lyrics include themes of patriotism, Nepali virtues, unity, love and nationalism. There is a lot of variety in the music of 1974 AD. They have successfully tried various genres of music. Their songs, like "Nepali," "Sambodhan," "Pahilo Junima," "Parelima," "Samjhi Baschu" and "Chudaina Timro Mayale" amongst various others, were some of the biggest hits in Nepalese music. The song "Nepali Ho" from their highest selling album Satabdi has been received as the most patriotic songs till now.

Together We Stand

Together We Stand, also known as Nothing Is Easy, is an American television series that aired on the CBS network from 1986 to 1987. It was written by Stephen Sustarsic and directed by Andrew D. Weyman.

Together We Stand is about a married couple, David (Elliott Gould) and Lori Randall (Dee Wallace), and their array of adopted children from all walks of life. According to producer Sherwood Schwartz, the plot for this show was originally written as a spin-off from The Brady Bunch called Kelly's Kids. In the January 4, 1974 episode of The Brady Bunch (also titled "Kelly's Kids"; Season 5, Episode 13), which served as a backdoor pilot, the Bradys' neighbors plan on adopting one child but end up adopting three boys, all of different ethnicities.

Summary

David Randall and his wife, Lori, had two kids: an adopted daughter named Amy (Katie O'Neill) and a natural-born son, Jack (Scott Grimes). After seeing how well the Randall family did with an adopted child and a natural child, a pushy social worker gives them two more children: an Asian-American boy named Sam (Ke Huy Quan) and a little African-American girl named Sally (Natasha Bobo). The story lines consisted of the cultural differences and adjustments that had to be made by all — Sam and Sally having parents for the first time, and also Jack and Amy having to compete with the new arrivals for their parents' time and affection.
