UNDP’s work in the UAE emphasizes supporting national priorities including the UAE Vision 2021 targets by sharing global expertise and best practices with national counterparts. Addressing the priority concerns of being one of the best countries in the world with safe, sustainable and well preserved environment, efficient and good governance, cohesive society where full potential of every woman and man is developed and harnessed, creating gender equality, knowledge based and diversified economy, and the protection of human rights for all; form the basis of our programme in the UAE. UNDP also aims to share laudable success stories and best practices of the UAE with other countries through south-south cooperation and impactful UAE foreign aid. Working together with government institutions, the private sector, academia and civil society organizations, UNDP aims to be the partner of choice delivering quality sustainable development services.
At the global level,UNDP's work emphasizes the priority concerns of HIV/AIDS, gender equality, and the protection of human rights, while addressing as well the human development deficits identified by the first series of the Arab Human Development Report in knowledge, freedom, and women’s empowerment.
