Tanusree Chakraborty

Tanusree Chakraborty is a Bengali model and actress in film and television.

Chakraborty came into the limelight with performances in Bengali films such as Uro Chithi (2011), Bedroom (2012), Obhishopto Nighty (2014), Window Connections (2014), Buno Haansh (2014) and Khaad (2014).

Before pursuing acting, she was a professional model and appeared in a number of advertisements.

Along with films, she has also worked on various television shows. Recently she has been hosting a beauty and lifestyle show called Sampurna on Zee Bangla channel.

She is the brand ambassador of Club Salon & Glamour World Ayurvedic Co Pvt Ltd.

Early life

Chakraborty was born in Hyderabad, India, and was a student at Kamala Girls' High School. She later studied political science at Basanti Devi College, a University of Calcutta affiliate.

Career

After finishing school, Chakraborty began to work as a model. At that time, she did not have a full idea of what modeling consisted of. She worked as a model for a short time and appeared in numerous advertisements, among which was a Bangladeshi commercial for Pran Powder Spice that was very popular in both Bengals. She came to prominence with the 2011 film Uro Chithi.

Ichchhemotir Gappo

Ichchhemotir Gappo is a 2015 Bengali film directed by Atanu Hazra, Adinath Das and Kaushik Sengupta, and produced by Pradip Churiwal and Saikat Mitra for Macneill Media Pvt Ltd. The music is composed by Kalyan Sen Barat. It is Macneill Media's second film, after Durbin.

Storyline

Ichchemotir Gappo is a film about human relationships and how they evolve over time. Contemporary dance and music form an integral part of the movie. Kalyan Sen Barat takes us back to the nostalgic Salil Chowdhury era of orchestration, and the voices of Rupankar and Srikanto Acharya are a throwback to the golden period of Bangla cinema. Saswata Chatterjee and Tanushree Chakraborty break away to perform in roles completely anew.

The story revolves around the budding relationship between its two central characters, Ichche and Neel, despite their contrasting personalities. Ichche is a free-spirited dansusee, with a completely different take on the dialectics of love and relationships compared to Neel. Although attracted to each other, their love remains unrequited, and, to complicate matters, a fashion photographer in Bijoy is also attracted to Ichche and has designs to make her into a big star. In the beginning of the story, Tagore’s Uttaran remains in the background.

Saswata Chatterjee

Saswata Chatterjee (শাশ্বত চ্যাটার্জী; also known as Apu) is an Indian actor of television and films based in Kolkata. Born to actor Subhendu Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee began his career with a Hindi serial directed by Saibal Mitra, based on Samaresh Majumdar's Kaalpurush. He gained popularity by portraying the character of Topshe in a Feluda-based television series directed by Sandip Ray. His acting in many Bengali films has been praised by the critics, including his portrayal of a Ritwik Ghatak-inspired character in the 2013 film Meghe Dhaka Tara. He enjoyed success at the national level in Sujoy Ghosh's 2012 blockbuster Hindi film, Kahaani, where he played an assassin.

Saswata Chatterjee was born on 19 December 1970 to Subhendu Chatterjee, a noted Bengali actor. Saswata Chatterjee lives in Kolkata and is married to Mohua, a teacher, the actor has one daughter.

Career

Chatterjee started his career with a Hindi serial directed by Saibal Mitra, based on Samaresh Majumdar’s Kaalpurush. Later, he acted in a television series directed by Sandip Ray, where he portrayed the character of Topshe, a sidekick of Feluda, the sleuth. After this television debut, his acting skills were appreciated and he gained popularity.

Subhrajit Mitra

Subhrajit Mitra is a Bengali film documentary director of India.

Career

Born on 18th January, 1976, Subhrajit Mitra started his career at the age of 18 as a documentary director for Doordarshan. He completed his post graduate diploma in Computer science and engineering and a part-time two years diploma course in Film-direction from National Institute of Film and Fine Arts.

His debut feature film was Mon Amour: Shesher Kobita Revisited in 2008. Mitra has directed 5 feature films including Aagunpakhi and Kakababu trilogy by Sunil Ganguly. Vorai, a 52 mins film, was Mitra’s first fiction work, which has won 4 major awards across the globe.

Earlier in his career, prior to Mon Amour, he scripted and directed six documentaries for Doordarshan, the national channel, a fifty-two episodes of a documentary-series on National network with joint production by ISRO [Indian space research organization], two corporate documentaries for BM Birla heart research center, a corporate documentary for ONGC and a promotional docu-fiction on conservation of nature for Forest Department of West Bengal. Subhrajit researched, scripted and Directed “WANGALA” – a documentary film on GARO tribes in the North east of the Himalayan foothill range, it was premiered with very much appreciation in ‘Document 2 film Festival’ (September 2004) in GLASGOW, Scotland, U.K. and Awarded as ‘Special Mention’ film in the ‘Golden Gate Fiction & Documentary Film Festival’ (December 2004) in San Francisco, USA and as ‘Integral Realization’ in the ‘Honolulu International Film Festival’. He was an empanelled filmmaker of National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel and History Channel. He has directed a series on the lesser-known tribes of the Himalayas, titled “Himalayas- unsung, unseen” for National Geographic Channel.
