We sailed through the Willis Islands, west of South Georgia, with a breath-taking iceberg (an icy ''Stonehenge") appearing out of nowhere - calved off a glacier at some stage and with brilliant blue hues. The bird flitted past at exactly the right time, providing perspective. Photo: Lidia Slucki -
A very foggy morning in the valley near Anantnag, Kashmir after a fresh snowfall. The valley once dubbed Valley of Shepherds is made up mainly of a population of peasants farmers. While tourism can be the driving force of the economy, continuing civil unrest had put off tourists from visiting this spectacular destination. Photo: Yuen Chee -

A very popular pastime for visitors to the Gyeongbokgung Palace (Blue House) in Seoul is to dress in Hanbok (traditional costume). These two girls were doing just that and engrossed in promotional material. Photo: Nicola Honan -
This photograph was taken in June 2017 near San Pedro de Atacama, Chile."The southern border from Bolivia was closed due to early snow which meant a long and circuitous route via Ollague in the north to reach San Pedro de Atacama in Chile. This sunset seen from the Valle de la Muerte overlooking the Licancabur Volcano made the trip worthwhile. The photograph could really have been taken on Mars. Photo: David Dickeson -
Watching dancers performing in PNG I was struck by one performer who was either a great actor or seriously dangerous. Moved in for some closeups. The dance involved warriors protecting a girl. This meant they had to be threatening to ward off any challenges. They were all good but this particular dancer oozed anger and potential violence. He had the onlookers nervous. Turned out he was a great actor. Reverted to a pleasant person after their performance. Photo: Neil Stanners -
The Maori call New Zealand 'Aotearoa' or 'Land of the long white cloud'. Recently I went to Auckland and captured these young families and their dogs enjoying a beach stroll. I was captivated by the grey clouds at low tide with Rangitoto Island, a dormant volcano and Auckland's most prominent natural landmark, on the horizon. I think this image encapsulates the local Aucklanders' love of their beaches no matter what the weather brings. Location: Takapuna Beach, Auckland, New Zealand. Taken on March 6th 2017. Exposure: 1/400th sec, f. 11, ISO 100 Photo: Theresa Lee -

12 expedition guides awaiting patiently in their zodiacs as we eagerly queue to board them to start our morning adventure. If you want to set foot on Antarctica, you must first set foot on these inflatable zodiacs that are used to ferry passengers ship-to-shore and back, and take you closer to wildlife and the dramatic scenery of the White Continent. We visited Newcastle, my husband's birthplace, after almost 30 years. We were rather impressed by the seaside walkways and cycleways, which made exploring this small city very enjoyable and easy. Photo: Anick Graveline -
When travelling to a new destination, the local wet market is one of my must visit places. It is here that you see real life and culture of the local people. This pic was taken in the main market of Hoi An, memorable for it wide variety of interesting food choices. Photo: Adrian Whear -
On a visit to Yosemite National Park in California we were blown away by the majestic monoliths, forests and waterfalls. The monolith that dominates the Park is Half Dome, a granite dome rising 1,444 metres above the valley floor at the eastern end of the Yosemite Valley. One side is a sheer face while the other three sides are smooth and round, making it appear like a dome cut in half. This shot was taken as the sun was setting on Half Dome above the Merced River. Just before landing in Brisbane, I was so impressed by the patterns and colours of the ocean...almost psychedelic. Photo: Anick Graveline -

The inhabitants of the village of Lamelera in Indonesia support themselves by hunting sperm whales and other large creatures, which they then dismember and trade with neighbouring people by barter. They have no agriculture electricity or water to speak of and currency is not generally used. They have been doing this for hundreds of years. This man is practising his harpooning skill in an outrigger canoe powered by muscles and a sail made of banana leaves.See him suspended by a short exposure between sea and sky Photo: Graham Mylne -
We came across this tree in country New South Wales. The railway looked in very good condition as if it had been used yesterday and the tree had grown up overnight. Best caption? Trouble on line. Crocodile Dundee would say: Your trains don't run late. THAT'S a late train. Photo: Alistair Gleeson -
