Windows Holographic is a "mixed reality" computing platform, enabling applications in which the live presentation of physical real-world elements is incorporated with that of virtual elements (referred to as "holograms" by Microsoft) such that they are perceived to exist together in a shared environment. A variant of Windows for augmented reality computers (which augment a real-world physical environment with virtual elements) Windows Holographic features an augmented-reality operating environment in which any Universal Windows App can run. In addition, with Holographic APIs, which are part of the Universal Windows Platform, and supported as standard in Windows 10 (including versions for mobile devices and Xbox One), mixed reality features can be readily implemented in any Universal Windows App, for a wide range of Windows 10-based devices.
Microsoft announced Windows Holographic at its "Windows 10: The Next Chapter" press event on January 21, 2015. It is set to be introduced through the smart glasses headset Microsoft HoloLens, as part of the general rollout of Windows 10. The Windows 10 launch began July 29, 2015 with release of the PC version, with the Microsoft HoloLens Development Edition to be released in the first quarter of 2016.
Microsoft Corporation /ˈmaɪkrəˌsɒft, -roʊ-, -ˌsɔːft/ (commonly referred to as Microsoft) is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Redmond, Washington, that develops, manufactures, licenses, supports and sells computer software, consumer electronics and personal computers and services. Its best known software products are the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems, Microsoft Office office suite, and Internet Explorer and Edge web browsers. Its flagship hardware products are the Xbox game consoles and the Microsoft Surface tablet lineup. It is the world's largest software maker by revenue, and one of the world's most valuable companies.
Microsoft was founded by Paul Allen and Bill Gates on April 4, 1975, to develop and sell BASIC interpreters for Altair 8800. It rose to dominate the personal computer operating system market with MS-DOS in the mid-1980s, followed by Microsoft Windows. The company's 1986 initial public offering, and subsequent rise in its share price, created three billionaires and an estimated 12,000 millionaires among Microsoft employees. Since the 1990s, it has increasingly diversified from the operating system market and has made a number of corporate acquisitions. In May 2011, Microsoft acquired Skype Technologies for $8.5 billion in its largest acquisition to date.
Microsoft HoloLens review, AR- mind blowing! My expectations were already high, but when I tried the HoloLens, my mind was blown at how outrageously good it is. I show you Microsoft Office 365 running through my HoloLens, accessing Excel and Word as Holograms. I then access Microsoft Edge for web browsing plus YouTube, just incredible; AR for business. I run some extremely cool HoloLens apps such as LSrD (wow, imagine the DMT trips you could simulate on this!) and then Galaxy Explorer to see our Solar System including the Sun and Saturn at very close up range. I then run a Beta 3D simulation of a shark, once again, absolutely incredible. I zoom into the shark hologram whilst it's swimming around my living room. It's without doubt the hand gestures need some work as it's hard to manip...

Microsoft just blew us (and some virtual robots) away with a demo of its HoloLens ‘mixed reality’ gaming system. The good news? Those spider robots are just virtual. The bad: HoloLens still isn’t available for consumers. Abhishek Singh recreated a life size Super Mario Bros. level and played it wearing HoloLens in New York's Central Park. He did this all dressed as Mario and he filmed the augmented reality experience. Singh built this experience in Unity3D and the video was recorded entirely through the HoloLens with no post production. Microsoft HoloLlens brings holography into physical world. Now its possible to create what you think. Its easy to convert your imagination into designs. Easier to explore the places never actually being there. According to Microsoft "The era of holographic computing is here." Specially I like this punch line "When you change the way you see the world, you can change the world you see." They say that Transform your world with holograms. HoloLens envisioned a world where technology could become more personal—where it could adapt to the natural ways we communicate, learn, and create. Where our digital lives would seamlessly connect with real life. The result is the world’s most advanced holographic computing platform, enabled by Windows 10. For the first time ever, Microsoft HoloLens bring...
Hololens is an awesome device, but what makes it awesome is the apps that run on it. More Tech Discussions ▶ https://goo.gl/ixV7dG Subscribe Here ▶ https://goo.gl/1TuHyY Hololens is Microsoft's augmented reality device (or as they call it, Mixed Reality). It's a totally self contained computer that can project holograms into your field of view, turning any space into a mixed-reality room filled with holograms. There aren't too many hololens apps out yet, but I rounded up what I thought were the coolest. None of these Hololens apps are super useful, but still fun to use. You may find me lying on some desert road
My eyes wide open to the universe
And what lies there is just something I left behind
And I move on, but where only hell knows
Only hell knows me
You may find me laughing in a haunted house
Drawing strange runes to the air and dust
And here inside of me there's a long forgotten key
To understand what's there, but only hell knows
Only hell knows me
You may find me crying in the closet of your room
What ghosts know only is how to come back
My prison will claim me again and again...
And take me, don't know where
Only hell knows
