Stage 1 of the 2017 Tour de France is a flat, fast time trial around the German city of Düsseldorf. The stage starts with a 4km drag strip, where we expect race favourite Tony Martin to put the power down, before crossing the high point on the course, which is a bridge. From there, there are few twists and turns to slow the riders down before they drag all the way back up to the finish.

Always the same way to work, day after day…it is early in the morning…FAR TOO EARLY for performance art! Always the same way to work, day after day…it is early in the morning…FAR TOO EARLY for performance art! The semi-automatized operating according to an internalised script…enter, pass through, punch the ticket, sit down… Disturbed by a completely naked woman, right in the middle of it, dressed in words… What will happen? Astonishingly… NOT THAT MUCH!
The own radical nakedness turns in this process into a protective shield against the stereotype and paradoxically makes the artist invisible. If one allows stunning defencelessness, a protective, almost private space arises – even on the tram.

„Der Alltag ist geprägt von „menschlichen Automaten“. Gelingt es stereotypes Handeln zu durchbrechen?“
Der Tag für Tag gleiche Weg zur Arbeit mit der Straßenbahn… Es ist früh…VIEL ZU FRÜH für Performancekunst! Das halb-automatisierte Agieren nach verinnerlichtem Script… Einsteigen, durchgehen, Ticket entwerten, Platz einnehmen… Gestört durch eine vollkommen Nackte, mittendrin, gekleidet in Worte… Was wird passieren? Erstaunlicherweise…NICHT VIEL!
Die eigene, radikale Nacktheit wird dabei zum Abwehrschild gegen das Stereotype und macht die Künstlerin paradoxerweise zur Unsichtbaren. Lässt man atemberaubende Schutzlosigkeit zu, entsteht plötzlich ein protektiver, fast privater Raum…selbst in einer Straßenbahn.

Düsseldorf is one of the five Regierungsbezirke of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, located in the north-west of the country. It covers the western part of the Ruhr Area, as well as the Niederrheinische Tiefebene, the lower Rhine area. It is the most populated of all German administrative areas of the kind. It's the only area in Germany where the traditional dialects are Low Franconian, rather than Low German or High German.
It was created as a subdivision of the Prussian Rhineland when Prussia reformed its internal administration in 1815. In 1822 the Regierungsbezirk Kleve was incorporated into Regierungbezirk Düsseldorf.

Tour de France
The Tour de France (French pronunciation: [tuʁ də fʁɑ̃s]) is an annual multiple stage bicycle race primarily held in France, while also occasionally making passes through nearby countries. The race was first organized in 1903 to increase paper sales for the magazine L'Auto; it is currently run by the Amaury Sport Organisation. The race has been held annually since its first edition in 1903 except when it was stopped for the two World Wars. As the Tour gained prominence and popularity the race was lengthened and its reach began to extend around the globe. Participation expanded from a primarily French field, as riders from all over the world began to participate in the race each year. The Tour is a UCI World Tour event, which means that the teams that compete in the race are mostly UCI WorldTeams, with the exception of the teams that the organizers invite.
The Tour de France, the Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España make up cycling's prestigious, three-week-long Grand Tours; the Tour is the oldest and generally considered the most prestigious of the three. Traditionally, the race is held primarily in the month of July. While the route changes each year, the format of the race stays the same with the appearance of time trials, the passage through the mountain chains of the Pyrenees and the Alps, and the finish on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. The modern editions of the Tour de France consist of 21 day-long segments (stages) over a 23-day period and cover around 3,500 kilometres (2,200 mi). The race alternates between clockwise and counterclockwise circuits of France.

Milo Moiré
Milo Moiré (born 1983 as Sue Pruzina) is a Swiss artist and model known for her nude performances and the use of her body in her art. Moiré was born in Switzerland, of Slovak and Spanish origin, but works from Düsseldorf, Germany. She has an Art Academy background and a degree in psychology.
PlopEgg
Moiré's PlopEgg No. 1, performed at Art Cologne 2014, was a work of action painting that involved the expelling of paint filled eggs from her vagina on to a canvas, thus creating an abstract work of art. The eggs contained ink and acrylic paint. A video description of the work states "At the end of this almost meditative art birth performance the stained canvas is folded up, smoothed and unfolded to a symmetrically reflected picture, astonishingly coloured and full of [strength]." The folding of the resulting canvas created a work which has been compared to a Rorschach test and a womb. Moiré writes: "To create art, I use the original source of femininity – my vagina."

The semi-automatized operating according to an internalised script…enter, pass through, punch the ticket, sit down… Disturbed by a completely naked woman, right in the middle of it, dressed in words… What will happen? Astonishingly… NOT THAT MUCH! The own radical nakedness turns in this process into a protective shield against the stereotype and paradoxically makes the artist invisible. If one allows stunning defencelessness, a protective, almost private space arises – even on the tram. THE SCRIPT SYSTEM - Düsseldorf (2013) „Der Alltag ist geprägt von „menschlichen Automaten“. Gelingt es stereotypes Handeln zu durchbrechen?“ Der Tag für Tag gleiche Weg zur Arbeit mit der Straßenbahn… Es ist früh…VIEL ZU FRÜH für Performancekunst! Milo Moiré’s performance “Mirror Box” is a societal reflection of human sexuality. It's a expanded reenactment of the “Tap and Touch Cinema” (1968) and a homage to the Austrian artist VALIE EXPORT, who was already fighting for women’s rights in the 1960s through artistic actions. Artist Milo Moiré utilises her body as an instrument, even as a weapon, in order to depict and disrupt power structures. She aggressively seeks the feminine expression of sexual self-determination and explores the boundaries of art and bourgeois morality. Performance artist Milo Moiré wears a trapezoidal skirt made up of mirrored surfaces; a rectangular opening at the front is closed off by a red curtain. With a megaphone she invites passers-by to reach into the opening for 30 seconds, in order to touch her vagina. “I am standing here today for women’s rights and sexual self-determination. Women have a sexuality, just like men have one. However, women decide for themselves when and how they want to be touched and when they don’t”, declared the artist. What happens when a woman puts her sexuality on public display, assertively takes the initiative and lays out clear rules for the intimate interaction? The consensual nature of sexual acts becomes a symbol here. Moiré has additionally taken the liberty of showing female desire, thus giving women a sexual voice. The artist supplements the dominant image of the female body as a mirror of male desire through the transparency of the libidinous black box of woman. Inevitably it is not only one’s own self that becomes recognisable through the Mirror Box. The audience’s reflection on the mirrored box simultaneously becomes a visual metaphor for the role reversal from voyeur to the object of view: a constant play of inversions analogous to our roles in the digital world.

Stage 1 of the 2017 Tour de France is a flat, fast time trial around the German city of Düsseldorf. The stage starts with a 4km drag strip, where we expect race favourite Tony Martin to put the power down, before crossing the high point on the course, which is a bridge. From there, there are few twists and turns to slow the riders down before they drag all the way back up to the finish.

Always the same way to work, day after day…it is early in the morning…FAR TOO EARLY for performance art! Always the same way to work, day after day…it is early in the morning…FAR TOO EARLY for performance art! The semi-automatized operating according to an internalised script…enter, pass through, punch the ticket, sit down… Disturbed by a completely naked woman, right in the middle of it, dressed in words… What will happen? Astonishingly… NOT THAT MUCH!
The own radical nakedness turns in this process into a protective shield against the stereotype and paradoxically makes the artist invisible. If one allows stunning defencelessness, a protective, almost private space arises – even on the tram.

„Der Alltag ist geprägt von „menschlichen Automaten“. Gelingt es stereotypes Handeln zu durchbrechen?“
Der Tag für Tag gleiche Weg zur Arbeit mit der Straßenbahn… Es ist früh…VIEL ZU FRÜH für Performancekunst! Das halb-automatisierte Agieren nach verinnerlichtem Script… Einsteigen, durchgehen, Ticket entwerten, Platz einnehmen… Gestört durch eine vollkommen Nackte, mittendrin, gekleidet in Worte… Was wird passieren? Erstaunlicherweise…NICHT VIEL!
Die eigene, radikale Nacktheit wird dabei zum Abwehrschild gegen das Stereotype und macht die Künstlerin paradoxerweise zur Unsichtbaren. Lässt man atemberaubende Schutzlosigkeit zu, entsteht plötzlich ein protektiver, fast privater Raum…selbst in einer Straßenbahn.

Milo Moiré’s performance “Mirror Box” is a societal reflection of human sexuality. It's a expanded reenactment of the “Tap and Touch Cinema” (1968) and a homage to the Austrian artist VALIE EXPORT, who was already fighting for women’s rights in the 1960s through artistic actions. Artist Milo Moiré utilises her body as an instrument, even as a weapon, in order to depict and disrupt power structures. She aggressively seeks the feminine expression of sexual self-determination and explores the boundaries of art and bourgeois morality.
Performance artist Milo Moiré wears a trapezoidal skirt made up of mirrored surfaces; a rectangular opening at the front is closed off by a red curtain. With a megaphone she invites passers-by to reach into the opening for 30 seconds, in order to touch her vagina. “I am standing here today for women’s rights and sexual self-determination. Women have a sexuality, just like men have one. However, women decide for themselves when and how they want to be touched and when they don’t”, declared the artist.
What happens when a woman puts her sexuality on public display, assertively takes the initiative and lays out clear rules for the intimate interaction?
The consensual nature of sexual acts becomes a symbol here. Moiré has additionally taken the liberty of showing female desire, thus giving women a sexual voice. The artist supplements the dominant image of the female body as a mirror of male desire through the transparency of the libidinous black box of woman.
Inevitably it is not only one’s own self that becomes recognisable through the Mirror Box. The audience’s reflection on the mirrored box simultaneously becomes a visual metaphor for the role reversal from voyeur to the object of view: a constant play of inversions analogous to our roles in the digital world.

Manche sagen, diese Nacht pulsiere, andere finden, sie sei magisch, einige behaupten, in dieser Nacht werde die Kunst überhaupt erst zum Leben erweckt ... In jedem Fall läutete die NACHT DER MUSEEN in diesem Jahr früher als sonst den Düsseldorfer Kulturfrühling unter Einbindung einer streetart naked lady performance ohne peeping tom ein:
'Kultur pur' hieß es am Samstag, den 2. April 2011, wenn über 40 Kunstmuseen, Kulturinstitute, Privatsammlungen, Galerien und Kulturbotschafter aus der freien Szene von 19 bis 2 Uhr einen nächtlichen Reigen aus Ausstellungen, Führungen, Tanz, Theater, Film sowie Street Art und Performancekunst veranstalten insgesamt lockten über 200 Programmpunkte zu einem nächtlichen Erkundungsgang durch das Kulturangebot der Landeshauptstadt.
Zwischen 19 und 2 Uhr konnten Kunstinteressierte - egal ob Museumsneuling oder langjähriger Kunstfan - zahlreiche Einzelveranstaltungen besuchen. Am besten stellte sich der Besucher sein Programm vorher anhand des detaillierten Programmhefts individuell zusammen - schließlich bot die Museumsnacht für jeden Geschmack etwas. Zu später Stunde lockte vielerorts Live-Musik, für kleine Snacks und Getränke war überall gesorgt. Bei den Abschlusspartys im Op de Eck mit peeping tom und in der Nachtresidenz mit der naked lady konnte bis in die frühen Morgenstunden gefeiert werden.

Düsseldorf lies southwest of the Ruhr urban area, and in the middle of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region. Düsseldorf is built entirely on alluvium, mud, sand, clay and occasionally gravel. The highest point in Düsseldorf is the top of Sandberg in the far eastern part of the city (Hubbelrath borough) at 165 metres (541 ft). The lowest point is at the far northern end in Wittlaer borough where the Schwarzbach enters the Rhine, with an average elevation of 28 metres (92 ft).
Düsseldorf Airport, also referred to as Rhein-Ruhr Airport, is located eight kilometres (5.0 miles) from the city centre and can easily be reached by train or the S-Bahn urban railway. The city is a major hub in the Deutsche Bahn (DB) railway network. More than 1,000 trains stop in Düsseldorf daily. Düsseldorf Central Station at Konrad-Adenauer-Platz is located in Düsseldorf-Stadtmitte.

If you visit Dusseldorf you must go to Rhine Tower (Rheinturm) ( Dusseldorf - Germany ) as the view is fantastic. You do have to pay to get in but its worth it.
It is very pleasant and amazing to go up to Rhine Tower (Rheinturm) ( Dusseldorf - Germany ) . The view of the town and the river is very powerful. Good for taking pictures and to have a coffee.
Rhine Tower (Rheinturm) ( Dusseldorf - Germany ) is classic for tourists - so must be done! The view when you reach the top is spectacular - worth the time and money.
