Audio Description

For those who have low vision or are blind, Audio Description (AD) services provides additional narration which describes key visual content of the film.

It consists of a narrator talking through the presentation, describing what is happening on the screen during the natural pauses in the audio, and sometimes during dialogue if deemed necessary. At the accessible locations the signal is sent to a receiver that is worn by the user as a headset.

MIFF is working closely with the hundreds of filmmakers who are presenting their work at this year's festival to establish which titles will offer Audio Description.
