Blunt Talk is an American sitcom on the Starz cable network starring Patrick Stewart, created by Jonathan Ames, and produced by Seth MacFarlane. The series' first two episodes were released online on August 15, 2015, and premiered on Starz on August 22, 2015. Starz has ordered 20 episodes, to be split into two seasons. The first season concluded on October 24, 2015.
The show follows British newscaster Walter Blunt who moves to Los Angeles with the intention of conquering American nightly cable news. His misguided decisions on and off the air prove that his ultimate ambitions will be difficult to achieve.
Blunt's name was taken from the minor character Sir Walter Blunt in William Shakespeare's Henry IV, Part 1, which was Stewart's first role with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Jacqueline Ruth "Jacki" Weaver, AO (born 25 May 1947) is an Australian theatre, film, and television actress. She is known internationally for her performances as Janine "Smurf" Cody in Animal Kingdom (2010) and as Dolores Solatano in Silver Linings Playbook (2012), both of which earned her a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Weaver emerged in the 1970s as a symbol of the Australian New Wave through her work in Ozploitation films such as Stork (1971), Alvin Purple (1972) and Petersen (1973). In 2005, she released her autobiography titled Much Love, Jac.
Weaver was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Her mother, Edith (née Simpson), was a migrant from northern England, and her father, Arthur Weaver, was a Sydney solicitor. She attended Hornsby Girls' High School, and won a scholarship to study sociology at university, but instead embarked upon an acting career.
Weaver has been working in Australian film, stage and television since the 1960s. The turning point in her career came in 1965 just before she was about to go to university and was cast in the Australian TV series Wandjina!.

In the 1980s, he began working in American television and film, with roles as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation and its successor films; as Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men series of superhero movies; and voice roles including CIA deputy director Avery Bullock in American Dad! and narrating the film Ted and its sequel. He currently stars in the Starz TV series Blunt Talk. In 1993, TV Guide named him the best dramatic television actor of the 1980s.
Patrick Stewart was born on 13 July 1940 in Mirfield, in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England, to Gladys (née Barrowclough), a weaver and textile worker, and Alfred Stewart, a Regimental Sergeant Major in the British Army. Now airing on Starz is Blunt Talk, the new comedy series from Bored to Death creator/showrunner Jonathan Ames and executive producer Seth MacFarlane. The half-hour show stars Patrick Stewart as Walter Blunt, a British import intent on conquering the world of American cable news. The problem? Blunt is out of control. For some, the major appeal of Blunt Talk will be seeing such a venerable figure as Stewart engaging in sophomoric and reckless behaviors. But Stewart is at his most side-splitting when Blunt is simply being petulant. I got to see the first few episodes, and they made me l...
