Ramoji Group

Ramoji Group is a conglomerate headed by Ramoji Rao and head quartered in Hyderabad. Its businesses cover television and newspaper media, film production, financial services, retail, education and hospitality. In 1996, one of its businesses, Ramoji Film City, was recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest film studio complex in the world.

Ramoji Film City (Telugu: రామోజీ ఫిలిం సిటీ, RFC) is situated near Hayathnagar in Hyderabad, Telangana. It opened in 1996 and was certified by Guinness World Records as the largest integrated film city. It contains over 1,666 acres (6.74 km²) of land, and is the site for Ushakiran Movies. It hosts a theme park and the Ramoji Academy of Film and Television (RAFT), which offers degrees in filmmaking.

Eenadu

Eenadu, which started in 1974 in Vizag, is one of India’s largest circulated regional language daily newspapers. Its Telugu language daily is printed from 23 centres.

Ramoji Rao

Cherukuri Ramoji Rao, better known as Ramoji Rao (born 16 November 1936) is an Indian businessman, film producer, educationist, journalist and media entrepreneur. He is head of the Ramoji Group which owns, among other things, the world's largest film production facility, Ramoji Film City and film production company Ushakiran Movies, established in 1983. In 2016, He was selected to be honored with the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian honor for his contributions towards the field of Journalism, Literature and Education.

Personal life

Rao was born in Pedaparupudi, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh State, into an agricultural family. Companies owned by the Ramoji group include Margadarsi Chit Fund, Eenadu newspaper, ETV, Priya Foods, Ushakiran Movies and as mentioned above, the Ramoji Film City near Hyderabad. He is also the chairman of Dolphin group of hotels in Andhra Pradesh. Rao's younger son, Cherukuri Suman, died of cancer on 7 September 2012.

Film City

Film City is an integrated film studio complex situated near Sanjay Gandhi National Park at Goregaon East, Mumbai in India. It has several recording rooms, gardens, lakes, theaters and grounds that serve as the venue of many Bollywood film shootings. It was built by the state government to provide facilities and concessions to the film industry. It was renamed Dadasaheb Phalke Nagar in memory of India's first producer-director-screenwriter. It has been the shooting location for almost all Bollywood films. It has all type of location available for shooting including a temple, prison, lake, garden and even a man-made waterfall. Dadasaheb Phalke was father of Indian film industry.

Chairman

The chairman or chairwoman, or simply the chair, sometimes known as chairperson, is the highest officer of an organized group such as a board, a committee, or a deliberative assembly. It is commonly used today, and has been used as a substitute for chairman since the middle of the 17th century, with its earliest citation in the Oxford English Dictionary dated 1658-9, only four years after the first citation for chairman.

The Ramoji Film City (Telugu: రామోజీ ఫిలిం సిటీ) in India is located in Hyderabad. At 2000 acres, It is the largest integrated film city in the world.

It is also a popular tourism and recreation centre, containing both natural and artificial attractions including an amusement park. The Outer Ring Road Phase 2 has acquired lands at the entrance and is set to intersect the city.

Ramoji Film City was established by Indian film producer Ramoji Rao, head of Ramoji Group, in 1996. The facility has been certified by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest film studio complex.

The studio has produced films in a number of languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Oriya, Marathi, Bengali and international film industries.
