Qingdao ([tɕʰjə́ŋtàʊ]; Chinese: 青岛; also spelt Tsingtao) is a city in eastern Shandong Province on the east coast of China as well as the largest city in Shandong province. Administered at the sub-provincial level, Qingdao has jurisdiction over seven districts and five county-level cities. According to the 2010 census, the built-up (or metro) area made up of 6 urban districts and Jimo City had 5,764,384 inhabitants, while the total population of the sub-provincial city is up to 8.71 million. Lying across the Shandong Peninsula and looking out to the Yellow Sea, it borders Yantai to the northeast, Weifang to the west and Rizhao to the southwest. Qīng (青) in Chinese means "green" or "lush", while dǎo (岛) means "island".
Qingdao is a major seaport, naval base, and industrial centre. The world's longest sea bridge, the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, links the main urban area of Qingdao with Huangdao district, straddling the Jiaozhou Bay sea areas. It is also the site of the Tsingtao Brewery, the second largest brewery in China.
Tsingtao Brewery Co.,Ltd. (simplified Chinese: 青岛啤酒厂; traditional Chinese: 青島啤酒廠; pinyin: Qīngdǎo píjiǔchǎng; German: Tsingtao-Brauerei) (SEHK: 168 SSE: 600600,OTC Pink: TSGTY) is China's second largest brewery. It was founded in 1903 by German settlers and now claims about 15% of domestic market share. The beer is produced in Qingdao in Shandong province (and more recently in other breweries owned by the company as well), and it gets its name from the old École française d'Extrême-Orient transliteration of the city's name. The beer's present-day logo displays an image of Zhan Qiao, a famous pier on Qingdao's southern shore.
The Tsingtao Brewery was founded by The Anglo-German Brewery Co. Ltd., an English-German joint stock company based in Hong Kong who owned it until 1916. The brewery was founded on August 15, 1903 as the Germania-Brauerei (Germania Brewery) with a paid-in capital of 400,000 Mexican silver dollars divided into 4,000 shares priced at $100 each.
New Friends is a 1990 jazz album by trombonist Fred Wesley. It was released on the German label Minor Music and on the US label Antilles.

Germany controlled the port of Tsingtao (modern day Qingdao) on the east coast of China until an Anglo-Japanese force invaded in September 1914. As part of a BBC series looking at stories beyond the trenches, Carol Yarwood from the BBC Chinese service recounts the Siege of Tsingtao. If you travel to Qingdao, you have to visit the Tsingtao Beer Brewery, or the "World of Tsingtao." Within its red brick walls lies the historic secrets of the Tsingtao brewing process, some bizarre exhibits, and of course, free beer. For 50 yuan, you can enter the brewery-museum to learn about the history of Tsingtao beer, various brewing processes, and admire old relics of once-used brewing equipment. I'll be honest. The first part of the tour is a little boring. Me and my friends just wanted the free beer. Half way through the tour, you get to enjoy one free glass of unfiltered, raw Tsingtao beer. It was pure deliciousness straight from the source. My only complaint was that the sample was too small. After our first free taste of unfiltered Tsingtao, we were left wanting more beer. T...

✱ 533 Hotels in Qingdao - Lowest Price Guarantee ► http://goo.gl/0od3DF Travel video about destination Qingdao Beach in China. When the Chinese want to get married, they come to Tsingtao : there’s nothing cooler than a wedding on the beach or in the bay. Even if it resembles a production line. Tsingtao was originally popular with the Germans, who introduced the city to beer at the beginning of the last century. The beaches here have only recently become accessible to every social class. On the sands, one encounters a surprising cross-section, those in their work clothes and business suits, and others who daringly sport a swimming costume, (although bikinis are rare). Many hesitate to take the plunge, because a lot of young Chinese quite simply can’t swim ! Rubber rings are therefore indis...

Qingdao is a beautiful coastal city. You can enjoy the fresh air and the leisure time here. Walking to the beach, you can see the clear sea water and distant coast-line. The #seafood is quite cheap in Qingdao. What an amazing idea to taste some seafood while feeling the cool wind from the sea. LaoMountain in Qingdao is also a great choice for sightseeing.
