Breastfeeding mum makes a boob of museum staff who told her to 'cover up'

The irony of being told to cover up wasn't lost on this mum.

Being told to stop or disguise breastfeeding in a public place is not only upsetting and ridiculous, it's also illegal.

Even so, some people take it upon themselves to inflict their intolerance onto mothers simply trying to feed their babies, but not many expect a hilarious take down such as this.

A London mum who goes by the Twitter handle Vaguechera, paid a visit to the prestigious Victoria & Albert Museum on August 5 and took a seat in a courtyard to feed her one-year-old. She says she was approached by a female V & A staffer and asked to cover up.

After recovering from the initial shock, she tagged the museum in her first post, pointing out the irony of being surrounded by bare-breasted statues, some even depicting breastfeeding.

"Flashed a nanosecond of nipple while #breastfeeding and was asked to cover up in @V_and_A courtyard. Am perplexed...," she wrote.

She then went on a sight-seeing breast tour of the V & A, posting her hilarious running commentary on Twitter.

She also slayed trolls like an absolute boss.

Some found the situation completely relatable.

The museum responded with an apology stating that the incident went against V&A;'s guidelines: "We're sorry to hear this. Women are welcome to breastfeed in the museum, and we also have quiet spaces for those who would prefer privacy." It also posted that staff would be briefed on the incident so they were clear on acceptable conduct.

At least she still had a wonderful day and highlighted an unacceptable situation with delightful mirth. Thanks for the mammaries, Vaguechera.
