Skoda has confirmed pricing for its tweaked Octavia RS line-up.
The Czech carmaker has made some minor alterations to its mid-size performance range, along with the addition of a new range-topping variant later this year.
Power for the base RS sedan and wagon comes from a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine which has been boosted by 7kW up to 169kW, with torque remaining at 350Nm.
Pricing starts at $38,890 for the sedan and $40,390 for the wagon when equipped with a six-speed manual, which represents a price rise of $1000 and $800 respectively. A six-speed DSG transmission adds an extra $2500 to the total.
Skoda also offers a diesel powered RS model which is driven by a 135kW/380Nm 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine.
Getting into a RS diesel will cost you $42,490 for a sedan and $43,990 for a wagon, which is a price rise of $1200 and $1000 for each. Diesel RS variants are only available with a six-speed DSG.
Skoda Australia has flagged a new range-topping RS245 variant to arrive in November, which uses a higher-tuned version of the turbo petrol engine which now produces 180kW and 370Nm. Buyers can choose either a seven-speed dual-clutch auto or a six-speed manual transmission. Pricing will be revealed closer to the car's launch date.
Compared to the standard Octavias, the RS features a wider rear track, 18-inch black alloy wheels, assorted black body touches and a new 9.2-inch touchscreen with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
An optional $2300 technology package is available which adds upgraded navigation, adaptive front headlights, auto parking, adaptive damper control, upgraded 10-speaker sound system and auto wipers.
A $2800 optional luxury package is also available and includes leather or Alcantara trimmed upholstery with red stitching, electrically adjustable front seats, heated seats, lane keep assist, blind post monitoring, pre-collision systems and anti dazzle side mirrors.
