Hillary Clinton and Tiffany Trump attend Sophie Lasry's wedding

Ah weddings. The time when you have to push aside your real feelings about your family, your thoughts on your fellow bridesmaids and instead drink way too much average chardonnay and dance enthusiastically to The Nutbush.

So spare a thought for Hillary Clinton and Tiffany Trump who found themselves at the same wedding on the weekend, that of Sofia Lasry, the 24-year-old daughter of billionaire hedge fund manager Marc Lasry, a major Clinton campaign donor. Lasry married 25-year-old Alexander Swieca, the son of another hedge fund manager, Henry Swieca.

The guest small talk over the chicken would have been hella awkward.

At least the likes of Clinton's right hand woman, Huma Abedin, Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez, and Real Housewife Dorinda Medley were also in attendance to ease the burden at the black tie 'do at Cipriani restaurant on Wall Street in New York City.

See?

A Hillary Clinton and a Real Housewife picture opportunity would smooth over any political divide, right?

Or maybe the real smoother here was Hillary Clinton's Tiffany blue wedding caftan.

Vogue declared that Clinton's unconventional (yet perfect for summer wedding season, amiright?) choice made her the wedding's "best-dressed guest."

Perhaps in part because it was such a different look for her.

As Edward Barsamian noted, "Hillary Clinton won our best-dressed award by swapping her signature silhouette, the pantsuit, for a summery and cheery caftan."

The key thing is the comfort factor - Clinton's look was breezy, summery and perfect for dancing the night away in.

And the internet tended to agree with his assessment.

Here's to the new caftan nation, and that the uniform of the resistance be chic, roomy and leave plenty of room for a second slice of cake.
