In this video we test out some DRT (Dynamic Research Technologies) Terminal Shock 150gr .308 Winchester ammo. This ammunition is designed to perform similarly at close and long ranges where traditional projectiles can fail to expand. The unique feature of the DRT projectile design is that it is a frangible BTHP with a powdered metal core for violent expansion and high terminal performance. Going into this test we didn't know if we would see the results that were advertised, but to say the least we were very impressed overall not only with the MOA accuracy of this round but the performance as well. We may put this round through some more testing int the future, so stay tuned. More to come.

My long range shot; 1,012 yards at a gallon of milk. Nothing spectacular, fun as hell for me; I'm hooked!
I should have put a 20 MOA scope on the rifle; I needed 151 clicks of elevation to get there, but only had 82. I found the milk sat best in the scope, just at the bottom bar; no scope left.
I had the windage adjusted about 3 MOA left.
I doped the range first, then setup the cameras.
Having been my first long range shot, (other than the occasional "hail mary" for that gopher way the hell out there with the .17 HMR or .223) I'm now addicted.
The rifle is a Remington 700 action with 26 inch heavy barrel. Haven't done any trigger work, I like the way it is. I did have the muzzle break put on by a gunsmith, and I put the rest together. I'd do it all over again, what a blast!
I am not an experienced long range shooter, this was my first attempt at a target over 100 yards; but damn what fun. I'll be learning a lot as I go.

.308 Winchester
The .308 Winchester (pronounced: "three-oh-eight" or "three-aught-eight") is a rimless, bottlenecked, rifle cartridge and is the commercial cartridge from which the 7.62×51mm NATO round was derived. The .308 Winchester was introduced in 1952, two years prior to the NATO adoption of the 7.62×51mm NATO T65. Winchester branded the cartridge and introduced it to the commercial hunting market as the .308 Winchester. Winchester's Model 70 and Model 88 rifles were subsequently chambered for the new cartridge. Since then, the .308 Winchester has become the most popular short-action, big-game hunting cartridge worldwide. It is also commonly used for civilian target shooting, military sniping, and police sharpshooting. The relatively short case makes the .308 Winchester especially well-adapted for short-action rifles. When loaded with a bullet that expands, tumbles, or fragments in tissue, this cartridge is capable of high terminal performance.
Although very similar to the military 7.62×51mm NATO specifications, the .308 cartridge is not identical, and there are special considerations that may apply when mixing these cartridges with 7.62×51mm NATO, and .308 Winchester chambered arms. Their interchange is, however, considered safe by the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute (SAAMI).

In this video we test out some DRT (Dynamic Research Technologies) Terminal Shock 150gr .308 Winchester ammo. This ammunition is designed to perform similarly at close and long ranges where traditional projectiles can fail to expand. The unique feature of the DRT projectile design is that it is a frangible BTHP with a powdered metal core for violent expansion and high terminal performance. Going into this test we didn't know if we would see the results that were advertised, but to say the least we were very impressed overall not only with the MOA accuracy of this round but the performance as well. We may put this round through some more testing int the future, so stay tuned. More to come.

My long range shot; 1,012 yards at a gallon of milk. Nothing spectacular, fun as hell for me; I'm hooked!
I should have put a 20 MOA scope on the rifle; I needed 151 clicks of elevation to get there, but only had 82. I found the milk sat best in the scope, just at the bottom bar; no scope left.
I had the windage adjusted about 3 MOA left.
I doped the range first, then setup the cameras.
Having been my first long range shot, (other than the occasional "hail mary" for that gopher way the hell out there with the .17 HMR or .223) I'm now addicted.
The rifle is a Remington 700 action with 26 inch heavy barrel. Haven't done any trigger work, I like the way it is. I did have the muzzle break put on by a gunsmith, and I put the rest together. I'd do it all over again, what a blast!
I am not an experienced long range shooter, this was my first attempt at a target over 100 yards; but damn what fun. I'll be learning a lot as I go.
