Workin on my Fitness

Okay, I am terrible. I can’t believe the last time I posted on here was in Feb! I was so pumped and motivated to keep up! I guess life gets in the way. All that matters is that…I am still here and still trying to do this blog thing! This time around, I am not going to stress and I am just going to have fun and share whatever my heart desires.

Anyway…I MADE A BIG CHANGE. Well..a big change in my eyes! For the last year I was training at a boxing gym. I would go almost every day! I was obsessed. Still am. But after a while I wasn’t seeing much change in my body. So, I did what scares me, and made a change! I decided to put that money I was spending on the boxing gym towards personal training with my fave Chiheb Soumer. Yes, there is boxing still involved! I was nervous from going to boxing class every day to only working out 3 times a week. In all honesty, I feel SO much better! I feel stronger and quicker and it’s only been 3 1/2 weeks since our first session. Wanna know what makes it extra fun? It’s a GROUP session. Which means I get to workout with my girls! Nothing better than having them there to motivate and push me. I can’t wait to see how we all feel a couple of months from now!

Long story short…I have a love-hate relationship with change. For some reason I always crave it. Sometimes I am not happy with it, but most times it makes ya stronger in one way or another!

What’s your go-to work out?

run like no one is watching

So, I have a confession. I usually stay away from looking at fitness Instagram accounts, because I find myself counting the flaws that I think I have, but lately I have been searching around Pinterest and Instagram to decide how I am going to attain a healthier lifestyle. There are SO many good accounts out there! It is incredible. But there is one problem that I have…I go through this crazy mind game. This is what I mean:
#1. I think “I am so ready to be healthy and get fit!”
#2. I then think “Where do I even start?”
(then I start looking at Instagram for different work outs and food ideas)
#3. Then I start to workout and eat healthy and then I don’t see results within the first two to three weeks…
(obviously that’s not a ton of time! Duh Paige…it takes longer than that)
#4. Every account I come across, I see this person who seems to be simply flawless and who
has it all together. So then I start to doubt a little bit.
#5. I then start to get super overwhelmed and think there is NO WAY I can make this happen for myself.
(I would ever look that good. Even if I never ate again!)
#6. Then there I am…back on my couch at midnight eating cookies. hahaha
This has been my process for a really long time! I think that I am starting to find ways to be motivated by myself and not by others, and that is really helping me! I personally want to feel and look good, and only I can make myself feel that way. So, with all of that being said, I want to know how you all are keeping healthy. What are your favorite healthy snacks? Are you on a diet that you love? I see lots of people “counting their macros”. Are you doing that? I am currently obsessed with boxing. It’s the only thing that gets me to the gym! So with that being said, what work out classes do you love?
The statement on this sweatshirt is a perfect statement for me. “Run like no one is watching.” I think I run a little funny, so I always pretend like no one is watching, or I get self-conscious! haha YOU GUYS…H&M pulled through this season with their workout gear! Their stuff is sooooo good. The sweatshirt in this look is a suede fabric. SUEDE! (see link below) So cool. Everywhere I go with this sweatshirt on, I get compliments. And the bra too. I have never had a matching gym outfit until this last month. Now I am kind of obsessed with trying to find matching looks. If you are anything like me, have cute outfits makes you get your booty to the gym, right?!
Anyway, I hope some of you comment and give me your feedback. I would love to hear from you all.

Booty

Hi! Just wanted to quickly share a booty workout I came across and decided to try. Yes, I found this on Pinterest. Yes, I am working on getting a nice booty. Yes, I really tried these works outs below. AND YES, I am very sore!
I have a little clip of me trying out this workout on my Instagram Story right…NOW. Hopefully I can get some videos up on my Instagram wall in the future! Side note – I couldn’t even do the “pistol squats.” Like what?! I’m not that legit yet. Another side note, because I couldn’t do the pistol squats, I tried to make the “single leg bridge” a little more difficult by using an exercise ball (see seen in my Instagram Story). If you miss my Instagram Story, instead of having my foot rest on the ground, I am balancing it on the exercise ball. Working the core and the booty at the same time! It was rough! Anyway…anyone want to jump on this “nice booty” train with me?! Or do any of you have any good work outs for me to try? I am all ears.

nike obsession

It’s finally the weekend, and I am ready to get in my comfy clothes and do all the things that my week doesn’t allow me to do! This weekend I have made it a goal to not only get some good work outs in, but to also come up with a fun plan to share cool work outs I come across, yummy food I inhale, clothing that needs to live in my closet, etc. (like I mentioned in one of my previous posts) If you follow me on Instagram, I have been posting little workouts here and there on my story, but I am curious to know if I were to post videos and such on my feed, if that would be something people would enjoy. Right now my feed is quite professional (meaning I try and keep my photos high quality), but I kind of want to be able to post some real life things! Thoughts? Lot’s of back and forth going through my head right now. Help!
I also want to know how you all are staying in shape. What work outs do you enjoy? What do you eat? Can anyone teach me how to cook? You know, all of the important things.
Enough with my ramble. I will let you all get to your fun Friday night plans!

Roses and Ruffles

I am so sad, because I waited to long to share this look with you all! I cannot find the product on Zara’s website, so I don’t have links for you today. #fail
BUT I wanted to give you a little something to get you inspired for your Valentine’s Day look. This isn’t as fancy as the “perfect red dress” that I styled in my last post, but it is dressy enough for a nice dinner date/event.
For all of you that like to keep it some what casual and cozy…stay tuned. One more Valentine’s inspired post is comin!

it’s time to “stretch” myself

I am so excited to share an idea with you all. I might be crazy, but keep reading!
So, I am just going to say it, I decided it’s time to stretch myself. I have been doing a lot of thinking lately, and if you could see into my brain, it would look like one of those illustrations you see with a bunch of squiggly lines all over the place. A colorful squiggly line mess, but a beautiful mess! I have thought about giving up the blog, because why would I continue when there are SO many other bloggers who inspire others more than I would ever be able to? Why continue when my views and follower count stays stagnate at times? Why continue when this whole thing feels a bit hopeless and somewhat a waste of time?
Then reality slapped me in the face. DUH PAIGE. I do this for ME! This is MY creative outlet. This is MY way to see progress, and better myself. This is MY way to inspire ME. And while it’s doing all of these things for me, I can only hope that one day someone will come across my blog or social accounts, and feel inspired as well.
I have decided that it’s time to try to step out of my comfort zone. I have decided to be more confident in myself. I have decided to explore my capabilities, which is why I came up with this new idea!
I personally am trying to live a healthier life style, and while I am on that journey, I would love to try to take you with me! If I know some of you are counting on me, then I won’t slack off or give up! You can hold me accountable. So, with that being said, I am taking myself on a “get fit” adventure!
I mean…I’m sure you have all seen Cara Loren. That girl is not only the nicest human, but HOLY COW, she is an inspiration!
I am still working this out in my head and figuring out how I want to go about this…But I will be posting personals workouts, my favorite work out classes, yummy snacks, work out apparel, etc.
DISCLAIMER: These posts won’t happen daily (as of now)! But I will do my best between my blog and Instagram account, to post as much as possible without overwhelming everyone.
Okay, wow, long rant! I am so excited to give this a shot! If I fail, still love me. 🙂

Lover of Black

This is how I wish everyday looked. Sunshine and bare feet.
Keeping it super casual, and because of the ocean breeze, I am keeping it cozy too! There isn’t anything special to this look, but I have to admit, it’s one that I wear more than once a week. Yes, I am guilty of “wear the outfit again if no one sees you in it”. My once piece of advice for you today is:

When in doubt, wear black! 🙂

Cozy in Calvin

Hello long weekend!
Most of you probably have fun weekend trips planned, but I am over here excited to cozy up and take it easy! I guess you could say I am that one friend who is the grandma of the group.

I shot this look in Utah a couple of weeks ago and unfortunately just sharing it now, but with how the weather is treating us here in LA, I think I could wear this look this weekend! It’s a been a bit chilly.

For some reason, there is nothing I love more than seeing a thin hooded sweatshirt layered with a nice long jacket. Yes, on both woman and men! I do it when I can here in LA, but when I am home in Utah, this look is my go-to! And of course, when the hair hasn’t been washed, I am all about hats! Hides the hair mess and added a great touch to the look.
Anyway, have fun this weekend everyone! Stay warm and safe

P

Black is the new Black

Once upon a time in a winter wonderland, there was a young woman who arose out of bed at the crack of dawn to set out on an adventure. She thought twice about making the journey, but because she is trying to work hard towards her goal, she knew that she could not go back to snuggling up in her warm bed. The sun was rising, the wind was blowing, and in her apple red jeep the temperature read TEN DEGREES. Driving for miles, her excitement to get to her destination grew and grew. She pulled up and was more than thrilled to see her brown haired beautiful friend! Her friend whipped out her camera and said “we just need to make it to the top of that little hill”, so they set on their journey. The young woman was not prepared. She instantly knew that her leather skirt, ankle booties, and a thin turtleneck were not going to play in her favor. The two made it half way up the hill, and then it happened, the young woman slipped and fell. Not only did she fall, but she was holding holding onto her brown haired friend, so her friend fell as well! They both were in trouble. After multiple falls, bare hands and knees in the snow, and no way to warm up, they finally made it to the top. Miserably cold, they tried to laugh it off, and capture the beauty of  Utah’s winter mornings…

Yes. The young woman in the story is me. Yes, the brown haired beauty is Roxana. And yes, this really did happen!

Good thing these images turn out to be masterpieces! You’ll never get anything less than that with Roxanna!

Ps. No matter how many amazing pieces I may or may not have in my closet, I always end up wearing all black. It is a problem!

P
