In this episode of Hearts of Iron 4 Alternate History Documentaries we take a look at The 1920 Treaty of Vienna. This treaty ended The Great War (World War I) after The Central Powers defeated The Triple Entente.
This video is a continuation of my Great War campaign with the Ottoman Empire. We'll be continuing this campaign in a modified version of vanilla's 1936 start. These "documentary" videos are filling in the years from 1920 to 1936.

Treaty
A treaty is an agreement under international law entered into by actors in international law, namely sovereign states and international organizations. A treaty may also be known as an (international) agreement, protocol, covenant, convention, pact, or exchange of letters, among other terms. Regardless of terminology, all of these forms of agreements are, under international law, equally considered treaties and the rules are the same.
Treaties can be loosely compared to contracts: both are means of willing parties assuming obligations among themselves, and a party to either that fails to live up to their obligations can be held liable under international law.
Modern usage
A treaty is an official, express written agreement that states use to legally bind themselves. A treaty is the official document which expresses that agreement in words; and it is also the objective outcome of a ceremonial occasion which acknowledges the parties and their defined relationships.
Modern form
Since the late 19th century, most treaties have followed a fairly consistent format. A treaty typically begins with a preamble describing the contracting parties and their joint objectives in executing the treaty, as well as summarizing any underlying events (such as a war). Modern preambles are sometimes structured as a single very long sentence formatted into multiple paragraphs for readability, in which each of the paragraphs begins with a verb (desiring, recognizing, having, and so on).

MP3 and lyrics of Yothu Yindi's "Treaty". Yothu Yindi are an Australian Aboriginal band (Consisting of Yolngu and Balanda members), and this is off their second album (Tribal Voice). Note: I am no way afflicted with this band personally.
A brief description that is given on Yothu Yindi's website about the song that's playing:
"Treaty was a plea for reconciliation sparked by former Australian prime minister Bob Hawke's commitment to negotiate a treaty between the descendants of the Aboriginal people who'd lived in Australia for 40,000 years or more and the non-Aboriginal people who've lived here since 1788." - http://www.yothuyindi.com/pdfs/YothuYindiBio_2004.pdf
This is the first song that has gained extensive airplay in an Aboriginal language within Australia.

32 countries had come together in Paris in January 1919 to hold a conference which would make peace after the First World War. It would be dominated by the ‘big three’: - David Lloyd George, representing Britain, Georges Clemençeau representing France and Woodrow Wilson representing the USA.

In this episode of Hearts of Iron 4 Alternate History Documentaries we take a look at The 1920 Treaty of Vienna. This treaty ended The Great War (World War I) after The Central Powers defeated The Triple Entente.
This video is a continuation of my Great War campaign with the Ottoman Empire. We'll be continuing this campaign in a modified version of vanilla's 1936 start. These "documentary" videos are filling in the years from 1920 to 1936.

MP3 and lyrics of Yothu Yindi's "Treaty". Yothu Yindi are an Australian Aboriginal band (Consisting of Yolngu and Balanda members), and this is off their second album (Tribal Voice). Note: I am no way afflicted with this band personally.
A brief description that is given on Yothu Yindi's website about the song that's playing:
"Treaty was a plea for reconciliation sparked by former Australian prime minister Bob Hawke's commitment to negotiate a treaty between the descendants of the Aboriginal people who'd lived in Australia for 40,000 years or more and the non-Aboriginal people who've lived here since 1788." - http://www.yothuyindi.com/pdfs/YothuYindiBio_2004.pdf
This is the first song that has gained extensive airplay in an Aboriginal language within Australia.

Germany and the Russian Bolshevik Government sign the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk ending hostilities on the Eastern Front. Previously Germany had resumed the war in the East to put pressure on the Bolsheviks to accept the dictated terms. The Western Front Caucasian theatre were far from peaceful though.

Treaty
A treaty is an agreement under international law entered into by actors in international law, namely sovereign states and international organizations. A treaty may also be known as an (international) agreement, protocol, covenant, convention, pact, or exchange of letters, among other terms. Regardless of terminology, all of these forms of agreements are, under international law, equally considered treaties and the rules are the same.
Treaties can be loosely compared to contracts: both are means of willing parties assuming obligations among themselves, and a party to either that fails to live up to their obligations can be held liable under international law.
Modern usage
A treaty is an official, express written agreement that states use to legally bind themselves. A treaty is the official document which expresses that agreement in words; and it is also the objective outcome of a ceremonial occasion which acknowledges the parties and their defined relationships.
Modern form
Since the late 19th century, most treaties have followed a fairly consistent format. A treaty typically begins with a preamble describing the contracting parties and their joint objectives in executing the treaty, as well as summarizing any underlying events (such as a war). Modern preambles are sometimes structured as a single very long sentence formatted into multiple paragraphs for readability, in which each of the paragraphs begins with a verb (desiring, recognizing, having, and so on).
