In April, I posted a note on Facebook asking if anyone experiencing a division in their family since the 2016 presidential election would like to share their story.
I heard from a former college classmate named Rebecca, who lives in Montgomery, Alabama. She and her mother had basically stopped speaking since the election of Donald Trump. Rebecca asked her mom, Mary, if she would be willing to sit down for an interview.
Although Mary was reluctant, she eventually agreed, and I traveled to Alabama to talk to them both in an emotional sit-down interview at Mary's home in Mathews, Alabama.

Daughter
A daughter is a female offspring; a girl, woman, or female animal in relation to her parents. Daughterhood is the state of being a daughter. The male counterpart is a son. Analogously the name is used in several areas to show relations between groups or elements.
In patriarchal societies, daughters often have different or lesser familial rights than sons. A family may prefer to have sons rather than daughters, with the daughters subjected to female infanticide. In some societies it is the custom for a daughter to be 'sold' to her husband, who must pay a bride price. The reverse of this custom, where the parents pay the husband a sum of money to compensate for the financial burden of the woman, is found in societies where women do not labour outside the home, and is referred to as dowry.
In the United States, the birth rate is 105 sons to 100 daughters which has been the natural birth rate since the 18th century. About 80 percent of prospective adoptive parents from the US will choose a girl over a boy.

"If You" is a song by Magic Box Italian singer, written by Phil Collins and Tristano De Bonis, produced by Rossano Prini and Gianluca Mensi. The single Italodance and eurodance was launched in January 2003 by Spy/Time.

If You Leave
"If You Leave" is a 1986 song by the British synthpop group Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD). It was recorded for the soundtrack to the film Pretty in Pink (1986) where it was played prominently during the final scene.
It is the band's highest-charting single in the United States, where it reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in May 1986. The song became an international hit, also reaching the Top 5 in Canada and New Zealand, and charting at number 15 in Australia. It failed to crack the Top 40 of the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number 48, but eventually gained popularity in the band's home country due to its inclusion on the multi-platinum selling The Best of OMD (1988) and the growing cult status of Pretty in Pink.
Composition
The band wrote "If You Leave" after John Hughes decided to change the ending to Pretty in Pink after poor test audience reactions. Hughes had asked the band for a song for the new ending two days before they were due to begin a tour, and "If You Leave" was written and recorded in under 24 hours as a result. The song was deliberately written at a tempo of 120 BPM, to match the speed of Don't You (Forget About Me), which the dancers in the scene had initially danced too. despite this songwriter Andy McClusky later noted that an editing error meant that the dancing appears out of sync regardless. The original ending featured another OMD song, "Goddess of Love", which was released on The Pacific Age later in 1986.

Young Heart is the 2005 debut album by English singer Kerry Norton. It is an album of jazz and soul covers.
The first single, "Everlasting Love", was released to Dutch radio in summer 2005, to some success and was used in a Dutch beer commercial.

His Young Heart
His Young Heart is a four track EP by Daughter which was self-released by the band on 6 June 2011. It was re-released on July 3, 2012 on Glassnote Records who pressed it on 10" vinyl and made it available as a download. The cover image is an old family photograph of singer Elena Tonra. Tonra and Haefeli recorded this together as drummer Remi would join them later in the year.

In April, I posted a note on Facebook asking if anyone experiencing a division in their family since the 2016 presidential election would like to share their story. I heard from a former college classmate named Rebecca, who lives in Montgomery, Alabama. She and her mother had basically stopped speaking since the election of Donald Trump. Rebecca asked her mom, Mary, if she would be willing to sit down for an interview. In April, I posted a note on Facebook asking if anyone experiencing a division in their family since the 2016 presidential election would like to share their story.
I heard from a former college classmate named Rebecca, who lives in Montgomery, Alabama. She and her mother had basically stopped speaking since the election of Donald Trump. Rebecca asked her mom, Mary, if she would be willing to sit down for an interview.
Although Mary was reluctant, she eventually agreed, and I traveled to Alabama to talk to them both in an emotional sit-down interview at Mary's home in Mathews, Alabama.

I heard from a former college classmate named Rebecca, who lives in Montgomery, Alabama. She and her mother had basically stopped speaking since the election of Donald Trump. Rebecca asked her mom, Mary, if she would be willing to sit down for an interview.
Although Mary was reluctant, she eventually agreed, and I traveled to Alabama to talk to them both in an emotional sit-down interview at Mary's home in Mathews, Alabama.
