Elder‘s never done anything on a small scale. The Boston stoner-rock group—whose sound encompasses such a grand scale that “stoner rock” itself feels pretty reductive—sometimes feels less like a rock band than composers whose chosen discipline just happens to be rocking the fuck out. That their debut album featured a song under seven minutes long feels somewhat quaint at this stage in their career; there are few moments on an Elder album that don’t feel utterly colossal or breathtakingly heroic. They don’t hold back, they don’t oversimplify, and there’s no frontier they can’t conquer. With 2015′s Lore, that included critical and commercial success, the band’s third album earning year-end accolades and a level of attention never before afforded their previous releases. Not that it wasn’t earned; Elder approaches nothing without a level of cohesion and control that could make any band’s ambition or execution seem disappointing by comparison.
Reflections of a Floating World carries with it the same affinity for vast, endlessly unfolding compositions as its predecessor. Instrumental “Sonntag” is the sole sub-nine-minute track of the bunch, and as such doesn’t leave quite the same impact as the other five. But those other five: Wow. For a band that never seems to stop finding new paths to explore, Reflections feels even more atmospheric and psychedelic than those that came before it, revealing a more refined sense of ambience and lush beauty among their new set of compositions. The opening of “Staving Off Truth” is a particularly glorious moment of post-rock ethereality, balancing a rock-solid groove against guitars that seem to be floating ever skyward. It doesn’t stay there long—no song ever does—but it sets up a beautiful foundation for something majestic by even Elder’s standards.
The small details that the band puts into the quieter or subtler moments only provide a stronger counterpoint to the moments in which they unleash their hardest rocking riffs or their heaviest rhythms. “The Falling Veil” is one such moment, offering some of the catchiest melodies of the album. Yet a closer listen reveals so much more, its subtle guitar harmonies adding a breathtaking layer of depth to an already powerful sound. “Thousand Hands,” at a relatively (relatively) brief nine and a half minutes, sounds almost like a single in the context of a band that’s essentially single-proof, despite how strongly melodic their songwriting is. It’s also the heaviest track by a few degrees, guitarist Nick DiSalvo delivering some choice shredding in its opening two minutes before it, too, opens up and allows in a stunningly dreamy verse.
That Elder’s songs require a fairly substantial time commitment might come across as intimidating or exhausting, but it shouldn’t. Once they get started, they provide a thrill that never ends as they leap from one musical section to another, as if performing a series of stunts in an epic gauntlet of obstacles. They’re alternately feats of human excellence and sumptuous sound-world constructions. You can get lost in these tracks or simply sit back and follow where each track goes. Reflections of a Floating World is the kind of album that isn’t meant to be experienced the same way twice. It might not even be possible.

Boston stoner rock trio Elder returned in 2011 with an epic psychedelic rock opus, Dead Roots Stirring, jammed with cascading riffs, cosmic melody and spiraling sonic architecture. All of it delivered with much greater focus and swagger than their self-titled 2009 debut. The songs are long and the guitar solos themselves wander longer than most trendy indie bands’ singles. But you know what? Dead Roots Stirring, all 5 songs clocking in at a combined 51-minutes, passes more quickly than most buzz-band-of-the-week’s 5-song, 17-minute remix EPs.
Lyrics on Dead Roots Stirring are applied sparingly, which is too bad as singer Nick DiSalvo’s vocals have evolved nicely over the past two years. This however is only a minor complaint for an album that’s full of highlights.
Throughout Dead Roots Stirring, Elder moves things along by shifting from tumbling riff-work and dizzying solos to desert-inspired acoustic breakdowns and guitar phrasing reminiscent of post-rock acts like Russian Circles and Mogwai. Elder’s more rounded, organic temperament still owes its heaviest debt to deities like Tony Iommi and Dickie Peterson. Elder are taking small steps beyond their comfort zone, but combined with much tighter songwriting and focused jamming, Dead Roots Stirring is an excellent second step for this young group with an old name.

First of all, sorry for bad quality. After a humble but promising start on their split album with Queen Elephantine (and later their first Demo), Elder released their first album, self titled.
This album incorporates a mixture of Doom Metal and Stoner Rock elements , while mainly consisting of Doom Metal and some low-pitched strained vocals on such songs as "Riddle of Steel Pt. 1" similar to Sleep's album Dopesmoker.
When they released the album, Elder was formed by Nick DiSalvo (Guitar and Vocals), Matt Couto (Drums) and Chas Mitchell (Bass).

Dragon Nest
Dragon Nest is a free-to-play fantasy MMORPG developed by Eyedentity. It uses a non-targeting combat system ensuring that players have complete control over every single one of their character's movements. Dragon Nest requires users to advance their characters by teaming up and traveling into instanced dungeons.
Gameplay
Dragon Nest incorporates non-targeting system gameplay to create a fast paced action filled experience. Players choose from a range of hero classes, characters that are of the Dragon Nest storyline that can equip customizable gear and weapons. Characters exist in one world, Kalahan, which resulted from Nexon uniting all four worlds to unite the characters. Devastating skills can also be learned, to increase one's power when defeating monsters in instanced dungeons or defeating other players in PVP.
Dragon Nest also has the advantage of being nearly completely skill-based, with lower level characters being able to defeat high level characters in PVP with skill alone. This allows a more experienced player that is of a lower level to dominate a less experienced player of a higher level player in PVP.

Plot: Fleeing a violent thunderstorm, a young goat named Mei becomes separated from his tribe and takes shelter in a cabin. He soon is not alone, as another creature limps inside. In the dark they cannot see each other, both have colds and cannot smell each other, but in conversation assume they are of the same kind for they have much in common even apart from a shared fear of thunder, having been taught by elders to run fast to survive and to value loyalty and friendship. They agree to meet the next day for a picnic, with the words "stormy night" used to identify each other. Getting past their initial shock at seeing each other in the daylight, their friendship grows even though they were born enemies, as a goat and a wolf. They continue to meet secretly with Gav fighting off his natural predator tendencies. One day Gav helps Mei escape a wolf hunt, and they are observed together. The other goats demand that Mei use his friend to get details of the wolves plans or be exiled. Gav is threatened with death unless he uses Mei to get details of the goat's habits. With all of the forest watching, they opt to jump into a raging river in an attempt to escape since neither will betray the other. Surviving the waters, they start a journey over a tall snow-capped peak to find a forest beyond where they can live in peace. The bitter cold of a blizzard overcomes Mei, and the pack still pursues them. Respectively facing death from starvation or the pack, Mei and Gav both attempt to sacrifice themselves for the other.

Boston stoner rock trio Elder returned in 2011 with an epic psychedelic rock opus, Dead Roots Stirring, jammed with cascading riffs, cosmic melody and spiraling sonic architecture. All of it delivered with much greater focus and swagger than their self-titled 2009 debut. The songs are long and the guitar solos themselves wander longer than most trendy indie bands’ singles. But you know what? Dead Roots Stirring, all 5 songs clocking in at a combined 51-minutes, passes more quickly than most buzz-band-of-the-week’s 5-song, 17-minute remix EPs. Lyrics on Dead Roots Stirring are applied sparingly, which is too bad as singer Nick DiSalvo’s vocals have evolved nicely over the past two years. Elder‘s never done anything on a small scale. The Boston stoner-rock group—whose sound encompasses such a grand scale that “stoner rock” itself feels pretty reductive—sometimes feels less like a rock band than composers whose chosen discipline just happens to be rocking the fuck out. That their debut album featured a song under seven minutes long feels somewhat quaint at this stage in their career; there are few moments on an Elder album that don’t feel utterly colossal or breathtakingly heroic. They don’t hold back, they don’t oversimplify, and there’s no frontier they can’t conquer. With 2015′s Lore, that included critical and commercial success, the band’s third album earning year-end accolades and a level of attention never before afforded their previous releases. Not that it wasn’t earned; Elder approaches nothing without a level of cohesion and control that could make any band’s ambition or execution seem disappointing by comparison.
Reflections of a Floating World carries with it the same affinity for vast, endlessly unfolding compositions as its predecessor. Instrumental “Sonntag” is the sole sub-nine-minute track of the bunch, and as such doesn’t leave quite the same impact as the other five. But those other five: Wow. For a band that never seems to stop finding new paths to explore, Reflections feels even more atmospheric and psychedelic than those that came before it, revealing a more refined sense of ambience and lush beauty among their new set of compositions. The opening of “Staving Off Truth” is a particularly glorious moment of post-rock ethereality, balancing a rock-solid groove against guitars that seem to be floating ever skyward. It doesn’t stay there long—no song ever does—but it sets up a beautiful foundation for something majestic by even Elder’s standards.

Elder‘s never done anything on a small scale. The Boston stoner-rock group—whose sound encompasses such a grand scale that “stoner rock” itself feels pretty reductive—sometimes feels less like a rock band than composers whose chosen discipline just happens to be rocking the fuck out. That their debut album featured a song under seven minutes long feels somewhat quaint at this stage in their career; there are few moments on an Elder album that don’t feel utterly colossal or breathtakingly heroic. They don’t hold back, they don’t oversimplify, and there’s no frontier they can’t conquer. With 2015′s Lore, that included critical and commercial success, the band’s third album earning year-end accolades and a level of attention never before afforded their previous releases. Not that it wasn’t earned; Elder approaches nothing without a level of cohesion and control that could make any band’s ambition or execution seem disappointing by comparison.
Reflections of a Floating World carries with it the same affinity for vast, endlessly unfolding compositions as its predecessor. Instrumental “Sonntag” is the sole sub-nine-minute track of the bunch, and as such doesn’t leave quite the same impact as the other five. But those other five: Wow. For a band that never seems to stop finding new paths to explore, Reflections feels even more atmospheric and psychedelic than those that came before it, revealing a more refined sense of ambience and lush beauty among their new set of compositions. The opening of “Staving Off Truth” is a particularly glorious moment of post-rock ethereality, balancing a rock-solid groove against guitars that seem to be floating ever skyward. It doesn’t stay there long—no song ever does—but it sets up a beautiful foundation for something majestic by even Elder’s standards.

Boston stoner rock trio Elder returned in 2011 with an epic psychedelic rock opus, Dead Roots Stirring, jammed with cascading riffs, cosmic melody and spiraling sonic architecture. All of it delivered with much greater focus and swagger than their self-titled 2009 debut. The songs are long and the guitar solos themselves wander longer than most trendy indie bands’ singles. But you know what? Dead Roots Stirring, all 5 songs clocking in at a combined 51-minutes, passes more quickly than most buzz-band-of-the-week’s 5-song, 17-minute remix EPs.
Lyrics on Dead Roots Stirring are applied sparingly, which is too bad as singer Nick DiSalvo’s vocals have evolved nicely over the past two years. This however is only a minor complaint for an album that’s full of highlights.
Throughout Dead Roots Stirring, Elder moves things along by shifting from tumbling riff-work and dizzying solos to desert-inspired acoustic breakdowns and guitar phrasing reminiscent of post-rock acts like Russian Circles and Mogwai. Elder’s more rounded, organic temperament still owes its heaviest debt to deities like Tony Iommi and Dickie Peterson. Elder are taking small steps beyond their comfort zone, but combined with much tighter songwriting and focused jamming, Dead Roots Stirring is an excellent second step for this young group with an old name.

Elder - Dead Roots Stirring (2011) (Full Album)
Boston stoner rock trio Elder returned in 2011 with an epic psychedelic rock opus, Dead Roots Stirring, jammed with cascading riffs, cosmic melody and spiraling sonic architecture. All of it delivered with much greater focus and swagger than their self-titled 2009 debut. The songs are long and the guitar solos themselves wander longer than most trendy indie bands’ singles. But you know what? Dead Roots Stirring, all 5 songs clocking in at a combined 51-minutes, passes more quickly than most buzz-band-of-the-week’s 5-song, 17-minute remix EPs. Lyrics on Dead Roots Stirring are applied sparingly, which is too bad as singer Nick DiSalvo’s vocals have evolved nicely over the past two years. First of all, sorry for bad quality. After a humble but promising start on their split album with Queen Elephantine (and later their first Demo), Elder released their first album, self titled. This album incorporates a mixture of Doom Metal and Stoner Rock elements , while mainly consisting of Doom Metal and some low-pitched strained vocals on such songs as "Riddle of Steel Pt. 1" similar to Sleep's album Dopesmoker. Elder‘s never done anything on a small scale. The Boston stoner-rock group—whose sound encompasses such a grand scale that “stoner rock” itself feels pretty reductive—sometimes feels less like a rock band than composers whose chosen discipline just happens to be rocking the fuck out. That their debut album featured a song under seven minutes long feels somewhat quaint at this stage in their career; there are few moments on an Elder album that don’t feel utterly colossal or breathtakingly heroic. They don’t hold back, they don’t oversimplify, and there’s no frontier they can’t conquer. With 2015′s Lore, that included critical and commercial success, the band’s third album earning year-end accolades and a level of attention never before afforded their previous releases. Not that it wasn’t earned; Elder approaches nothing without a level of cohesion and control that could make any band’s ambition or execution seem disappointing by comparison.
Reflections of a Floating World carries with it the same affinity for vast, endlessly unfolding compositions as its predecessor. Instrumental “Sonntag” is the sole sub-nine-minute track of the bunch, and as such doesn’t leave quite the same impact as the other five. But those other five: Wow. For a band that never seems to stop finding new paths to explore, Reflections feels even more atmospheric and psychedelic than those that came before it, revealing a more refined sense of ambience and lush beauty among their new set of compositions. The opening of “Staving Off Truth” is a particularly glorious moment of post-rock ethereality, balancing a rock-solid groove against guitars that seem to be floating ever skyward. It doesn’t stay there long—no song ever does—but it sets up a beautiful foundation for something majestic by even Elder’s standards.
The small details that the band puts into the quieter or subtler moments only provide a stronger counterpoint to the moments in which they unleash their hardest rocking riffs or their heaviest rhythms. “The Falling Veil” is one such moment, offering some of the catchiest melodies of the album. Yet a closer listen reveals so much more, its subtle guitar harmonies adding a breathtaking layer of depth to an already powerful sound. “Thousand Hands,” at a relatively (relatively) brief nine and a half minutes, sounds almost like a single in the context of a band that’s essentially single-proof, despite how strongly melodic their songwriting is. It’s also the heaviest track by a few degrees, guitarist Nick DiSalvo delivering some choice shredding in its opening two minutes before it, too, opens up and allows in a stunningly dreamy verse.
That Elder’s songs require a fairly substantial time commitment might come across as intimidating or exhausting, but it shouldn’t. Once they get started, they provide a thrill that never ends as they leap from one musical section to another, as if performing a series of stunts in an epic gauntlet of obstacles. They’re alternately feats of human excellence and sumptuous sound-world constructions. You can get lost in these tracks or simply sit back and follow where each track goes. Reflections of a Floating World is the kind of album that isn’t meant to be experienced the same way twice. It might not even be possible.

Elder’s more rounded, organic temperament still owes its heaviest debt to deities like Tony Iommi and Dickie Peterson. Elder are taking small steps beyond their comfort zone, but combined with much tighter songwriting and focused jamming, Dead Roots Stirring is an excellent second step for this young group with an old name.

Boston stoner rock trio Elder returned in 2011 with an epic psychedelic rock opus, Dead Roots Stirring, jammed with cascading riffs, cosmic melody and spiraling sonic architecture. All of it delivered with much greater focus and swagger than their self-titled 2009 debut. The songs are long and the guitar solos themselves wander longer than most trendy indie bands’ singles. But you know what? Dead Roots Stirring, all 5 songs clocking in at a combined 51-minutes, passes more quickly than most buzz-band-of-the-week’s 5-song, 17-minute remix EPs. Lyrics on Dead Roots Stirring are applied sparingly, which is too bad as singer Nick DiSalvo’s vocals have evolved nicely over the past two years. That their debut album featured a song under seven minutes long feels somewhat quaint at this stage in their career; there are few moments on an Elder album that don’t feel utterly colossal or breathtakingly heroic. They don’t hold back, they don’t oversimplify, and there’s no frontier they can’t conquer. With 2015′s Lore, that included critical and commercial success, the band’s third album earning year-end accolades and a level of attention never before afforded their previous releases. Not that it wasn’t earned; Elder approaches nothing without a level of cohesion and control that could make any band’s ambition or execution seem disappointing by comparison.
Reflections of a Floating World carries with it the same affinity for vast, endlessly unfolding compositions as its predecessor. Instrumental “Sonntag” is the sole sub-nine-minute track of the bunch, and as such doesn’t leave quite the same impact as the other five. But those other five: Wow. For a band that never seems to stop finding new paths to explore, Reflections feels even more atmospheric and psychedelic than those that came before it, revealing a more refined sense of ambience and lush beauty among their new set of compositions. The opening of “Staving Off Truth” is a particularly glorious moment of post-rock ethereality, balancing a rock-solid groove against guitars that seem to be floating ever skyward. It doesn’t stay there long—no song ever does—but it sets up a beautiful foundation for something majestic by even Elder’s standards.
The small details that the band puts into the quieter or subtler moments only provide a stronger counterpoint to the moments in which they unleash their hardest rocking riffs or their heaviest rhythms. “The Falling Veil” is one such moment, offering some of the catchiest melodies of the album. Yet a closer listen reveals so much more, its subtle guitar harmonies adding a breathtaking layer of depth to an already powerful sound. “Thousand Hands,” at a relatively (relatively) brief nine and a half minutes, sounds almost like a single in the context of a band that’s essentially single-proof, despite how strongly melodic their songwriting is. It’s also the heaviest track by a few degrees, guitarist Nick DiSalvo delivering some choice shredding in its opening two minutes before it, too, opens up and allows in a stunningly dreamy verse.
That Elder’s songs require a fairly substantial time commitment might come across as intimidating or exhausting, but it shouldn’t. Once they get started, they provide a thrill that never ends as they leap from one musical section to another, as if performing a series of stunts in an epic gauntlet of obstacles. They’re alternately feats of human excellence and sumptuous sound-world constructions. You can get lost in these tracks or simply sit back and follow where each track goes. Reflections of a Floating World is the kind of album that isn’t meant to be experienced the same way twice. It might not even be possible.

This album incorporates a mixture of Doom Metal and Stoner Rock elements , while mainly consisting of Doom Metal and some low-pitched strained vocals on such songs as "Riddle of Steel Pt. 1" similar to Sleep's album Dopesmoker.
When they released the album, Elder was formed by Nick DiSalvo (Guitar and Vocals), Matt Couto (Drums) and Chas Mitchell (Bass).
