California could have two new US Senator in 2021.

Kamala Harris-D becomes President or Vice President
Dianne Feinstein-D resigns or passes away.
Who gets appointed to the Harris seat and Who gets appointed to the Feinstein seat?

1. I'm all for a Biden/Harris ticket.

DiFi needs to let some new blood in, the country needs it.

2. What if a top tier Democrat like LA Mayor Garcetti runs against Feinstein in 2018?

Garcetti could finish in 2nd place in the open primary and defeat Feinstein in the November General Election.

4. Stuttering John from the Howard Stern Radio show is also running against DiFi as a Democrat.

Wouldn't it be great if Stuttering John and Kid Rock both get elected to the US Senate in 2018.

5. CAlifornia's all in primary election could result in an (R) vs. and (R) if the (D) field is wide.

Those are the potential consequences.

7. If California's all in primary election results in a R vs R matchup. This will mean Caitlyn Jenner-R

will become US Senator from CA.

6. Jackie Speier for Harris' seat and John Giarmende for Feinstein's seat

Both are up to speed and would hit the ground running

And pooh on all you who say that they are to old (Speier is 67 and Giarmende is 72), my Magic 8-Ball says they are good for many, many years of spectacular service to the state of California.

Oh, did I mention I trust their judgment explicitly?

13. Might totally depend on whether we elect a northern or southern California governor in 2018

Judy Chu has a great voting report card and a graduate of UCLA (a big plus for this Bruin dad )

Does she have any name recognition outside her district?

10. Gee, thanks. Dianne Feinstein thanks you for wishing her to die

You remind me of Hugh Hewitt. In the 90s he had a column in an Orange County magazine and he "predicted" the loss of Gray Davis (before the recall) and the loss of Boxer, of Feinstein..

12. Seriously? We're assuming Feinstein doesn't survive the next 3.5 years?

It's a bit tasteless, and very much morbid.

14. Feinstein will be 85 when she runs for re-election in 2018.

If Feinstein is able serve out her next full six year term, she will be 91.

21. While it is tasteless and morbid

I will remind you of my late Senator, Frank Lautenberg, who was reelected in 2008 and didn't live to serve out his term. He was 84 then and died in 2013 at 89. It is something to consider when you're electing an 80 something to a 6 year term.

(Filling the seat turned into a clusterfuck thanks to Christie, but that's a story for another day).
