A eulogy (from εὐλογία, eulogia, Classical Greek for "praise") is a speech or writing in praise of a person(s) or thing(s), especially one who recently died or retired or as a term of endearment.
Eulogies may be given as part of funeral services. They take place in a funeral home during or after a wake. However, some denominations either discourage or do not permit eulogies at services to maintain respect for traditions. Eulogies can also praise people who are still alive. This normally takes place on special occasions like birthdays, office parties, retirement celebrations, etc. Eulogies should not be confused with elegies, which are poems written in tribute to the dead; nor with obituaries, which are published biographies recounting the lives of those who have recently died; nor with obsequies, which refer generally to the rituals surrounding funerals. Catholic priests are prohibited by the rubrics of the Mass from presenting a eulogy for the deceased in place of a homily during a funeral Mass.
Tavares Montgomery "Monty" Williams, Jr. (born October 8, 1971) is a retired American professional basketball player and currently the associate head coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Williams was formerly the head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans, and is currently an assistant coach with the United States national team under Mike Krzyzewski.
As a 6'8" small forward from the University of Notre Dame, Williams was an honorable mention All-American, averaging 22.4 points and 8.4 rebounds during his senior season. Williams was an NBA first-round pick despite a pre-existing heart condition. He was selected by the New York Knicks in the first round (24th overall) of the 1994 NBA draft. Williams played in 9 NBA seasons from 1994 to 2003. He played for the Knicks, San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers.
In his NBA career, Williams played in 456 games, scored a total of 2,884 points and averaged 6.3 points-per-game. On April 8, 1997, he scored a career high 30 points as a member of the Spurs against the Denver Nuggets. Chronic knee problems forced him into retirement in 2003.
"And I" is a song written by American R&B singer Ciara, and produced by Adonis Shropshire for Ciara's first album, Goodies (2004). It was released as the album's fourth and final single on August 30, 2005 (see 2005 in music) in North America.
The song was originally the third choice for the fourth single. Ciara has mentioned in an interview that "Thug Style", "Hotline" or "Pick up the Phone" would be the fourth single, but when Ciara suggested "And I" to executives at her previous record label LaFace, they were unhappy because they wanted "Next to You" to be the fourth single.
At the time of the U.S. release of "And I", Ciara's collaboration with Bow Wow, "Like You", and her collaboration with Missy Elliott, "Lose Control", were at the height of their popularity. "And I" peaked at 96 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and 27 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, which were poor positions compared to those attained by the first three singles from the album Goodies. It was not released outside North America because of this, and it is Ciara's least successful single.

It's obviously sad typically. But you are still there to give a presentation. It's not the time to get up and just start blubbering away. It's not really helping people remember the person who just passed away any more effectively. Then it's about you if it's just you can't keep it together. What I would recommend is focus on one or two of the qualities that people loved the most about that person. And then tell a story or two that really dramatizes that person's warmth. How they cared for people. What they contributed to the world, to their family and their friends. Focus on that. You're not there to gi...

My mother passed away from cancer August 18, 2013. This was just 3 months after I surprised her by returning early from Afghanistan. I had no idea that would be my last mother's day with her. Me and my mom did not have a good relationship in our early years, but the last 5 years were GREAT! My mom wanted to inspire someone, at least one person. If you or someone you love is suffering from cancer, If you are having problems with your spouse, kids, parents, drugs, alcohol, or just not proud of your past, Please watch this video. It may change your life.

I'm doing my own eulogy, seems like everyone's sad except me, seems something like a release cause I'm finally free... Gotta let you go now, cause you been hanging on for far to long... You been taking me down... You and me will never get along...
[Chorus:]
Whooooaaa so, goodbye, so long, goodbye, so long, goodbye, so long, goodbye (gotta die to the flesh, peace)
I'm sorry things have to be this way... Between me and you no one is safe... Don't wanna hear what you gotta say... Cause that's what got me here in the first place... Heeey, Gotta let you go now, someway, somehow... You're just driving me insane... It's wrecking my brain, something's gotta change... Yeeeeeah, Something's gotta change...
[Chorus]
Listen to me, nothing good came out of me and you, that's why it's so easy for me to choose. There's only one thing left for me and that's die to you... (Man you were killing me) [2x]
