Rock Dog

China/USA 90 mins

A Tibetan mastiff leaves the mountains for the big city to seek out his musical destiny in this independent animation starring the voices of Luke Wilson and Eddie Izzard.

Tibetan mastiff Bodi (Luke Wilson) knows that he is supposed to take over his father’s role as village guard to the local mountainside sheep, but when a radio falls out of the sky he discovers his true passion – music! Inspired by an interview with Angus Scattergood (Eddie Izzard), Bodi sets off to find the legendary rock cat and ask him to be his mentor. Meanwhile, wolf pack leader Linnux (Lewis Black) hatches a plot to use Bodi to get to his father and those tasty sheep. Can Bodi protect his family and save the village without giving up his dream?

Directed by Pixar alumni and Surf’s Up director Ash Brannon and based on a graphic novel by Chinese rock star Zheng Jun, Rock Dog features an outstanding supporting cast including JK Simmons, Kenan Thompson, Sam Elliot and Matt Dillon in a light-hearted family adventure film that will rock your woollen socks.
