News broke this morning that’s pleased Bachelor and Bachelorette fans the country over, with all-round good dude and total dag, Richie Strahan appointed to the nations top honour – The Australian Bachelor.
Former Bachelor contestant-come-Bachelorette, Sam Frost used her radio show on 2DayFM this morning to chat about Richie’s new gig and how she thinks he’ll perform. In the segment, she told co-host Rove, that it was her that pushed producers to appoint Richie for the role but said they refused to tell her his chances. Frosty was all praise for Richie, saying:
“He was on the Bachelorette for all the right reasons… Half of them might not have been…”
“He really wants to fall in love and he deserves to shine.”
The pair then discussed Richie’s inability to properly express his emotions on the Bachelorette and how it’s likely to be a real barrier in the fourth season of the show. However, Sam rushed to his defence to say, that’s always harder to open up as a contestant, because you’re in a threatening environment and don’t have any power to make choices and be yourself. She told Rove that she found a real difference having been on both sides of the fece, saying:
“In the Bachelorette, being the number one person, it’s easier because you know that you get the choice.”
