Guildford i/ˈɡɪlfərd/ is the historic county town of Surrey, England and the seat of the borough of Guildford. The town is 27 miles (43 km) southwest of central London on the A3 trunk road mid-way between the capital and Portsmouth.
Guildford has Saxon roots and historians attribute its location to the existence of a gap in the North Downs where the River Wey was forded by the Harrow Way By AD 978 it was home to an early English Royal Mint. On the building of the Wey Navigation and Basingstoke Canal Guildford was connected to a network of waterways that aided its prosperity. In the 20th century, the University of Surrey and Guildford Cathedral, an Anglican cathedral, were added.
Due to recent development running north from Guildford, and linking to the Woking area, Guildford now officially forms the southwestern tip of the Greater London Built-up Area, as defined by the Office for National Statistics.
A few pictures of the town that I grew up in. It has taken me a few months on and off to piece this together, making sure the photos overlay each other to the best fit possible. It shows that Guildford has changed in many ways but at the same time has also stayed the same. It has been a very emotional project to complete as I no longer live in the town anymore and miss it so very much.

Guildford's open-air pool, the Lido, is open during the summer season from May to September. Set in 4½ acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and heated to 24 degrees centigrade, the Olympic sized pool is a great place to chill out, meet friends, picnic and of course, do some serious swimming! The Lido is one of Guildford's hidden treasures. Tucked away next to Guildford College and 1 minute from the A3, it is one of the country's few remaining original 1930's pools. The Lido attracts an average of 60,000 people every season and is home for a variety of community galas, competitions and other community clubs and societies. During the summer season the Lido is available for private hire/functions. The venue has been used to host a variety of events from outdoor concerts to informal parti...

A guide to the gay scene in Torremolinos, Spain. Often overlooked, maybe due to the long standing reputation as a throw back from the 1970's and Watney's Red Barrel, Torremolinos has a fantastic gay scene that rivals Madrid, Sitges and even Gran Canaria.
